If iPhone 6+ doesn't see WiFi network after iOS 8.3 upgrade, restart router and iPhone

PROBLEM: After upgrading my iPhone 6+ to iOS 8.3, the iPhone initially would not "see" the presence of my Apple Airport WiFi network.
This was bizarre because the credentials were saved on the iPhone, the WiFi network had been continuously up, my Mac Air remained continuously logged in to the Airport WiFi, and the iPhone was able to see other WiFi networks I didn't wish to connect to such as xfinity's and the neighbor's. Just not mine.
Manually entering the network name and password had no effect.
SOLUTION: Restart the Airport WiFi router. Then restart the iPhone 6+. Now the iPhone 6+ sees and connects to the WiFi network automatically as usual.
Hope this helps some folks!

I Apologize for the long overdue reply. If your using a pc with your iPhone it is a common problem i noticed since i had iPhone 3GS, although it can occasionally happen with mac but you if backed the phone with the issue will get the same issue you had since it will be in the backup it backups software on phone as well you see.

Can't connect to wifi network after iOS update.

This does not work in my case.
Situation: we have wifi at home using WPA encryption.
The iPod Touch 8GB connected seamless to this network and anything was ok. After some days i could no longer connect, the iPod told me "connection to network 'networkname here' failed". Deleting the network and reenter the (correct) passphrase was no help, but changing the SSID on the router was helpful: the iPod could connect again ... for several days.
Now things stopped working again. Resetting network settings did not help either.
The iPod can see the network, is asking me for the passphrase and after several seconds telling me: can't connect. On the router log i don't even see a dhcp request, but other laptops work fine with the same wifi network.
That's a mess, i cannot and will not change the SSID every some days just to get the iPod working again.

  • Problem with 3G network after ios 6.1 upgrade on iphone 3Gs.

I have a iphone 3Gs and not a 5 or 4 and since my ios 6.1 upgrade it's a nightmare for me.  I meet a lot of reliability issue with the 3G network. Before the 6.1 upgrade it worked fine. My carrier provider is SFR. It seems to be a "bug" only with 3G. Maybe it's the same as 4Gs but not corrected for 3Gs.
By example I'm using my iphone to join a Free Number to join a confcall system and everytime after sometimes 3 minutes or 15 minutes I'm automatically disconnected - nobody is hearing me and I have to switch off and to reconnect.  Others collegue working with me having a iphone 3Gs meet the same issue as me with 3G network.
Do you plan to release the 6.1.1 version for iphone 3Gs ? if yes ? when ?

After testing workaround to disable WIFI when I'm using 3G network. It worked for 1 confcall during 1 hour !! but for the second confcall the duration was only 6 minutes and the network was cut !!! the workaround doesn't work !.
I'm surprise because I don't find similar issue on Internet with "Reliability of 3G on iphone 3Gs after ios 6.1 upgrade!!".
This morning during a call this message appears "Could not activate cellular data network".
Are you in the same case as me ? Do you have a workarounf for me ?

  • T430 on Windows 7 (64-bit) doesn't see wifi networks

I am having the same issue as Greg was when he first Re-imaged the laptop, and I too have seached for all possible drivers to attempt to fix the Network Controller driver displaying the Yellow "!". Though when I attempted to use the solution given the drivers didn't work for me. Is there any ideas or drivers I haven't tested that are out there?
    Please help,
    Cody

    From here: http://www.pcidatabase.com/index.php
DEV_0891 comes back as: 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Controller, so seemingly the wired Ethernet. Is your wired connection working or are you using another machine to D/L driver packs? The drivers for this device are here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028930 if you need them.
Considering that you've visually ID'ed the WLAN card, the W7x64 driver linked here:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS015011 *should* be what you need, but I'm puzzled that you're not showing a "yellow !" network controller that ID's itself with the proper DEV. Can you confirm that you've tried installing this driver pack?
Finally, I'm fairly certain that the Base System Device is the Ricoh Card Reader. The driver would be here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028931 if so.
    Regards.

  • Why can't I connect to my wifi network after ios 6 update?

I have updated to ios 6 and now when I try to connect to wifi, it sends me to a "oops the page you have requested is not available" page at apple.com.  What is going on????

It didn't work for me either.
My Apple store don't know the answer and have suggested that I connect to a computer and do a full reset and install iOS6 again.
Not too sure how to do that yet.

  • System does not automatically reconnect to wifi network after sleep/restart

My iMac G4 (2GB RAM, 10.5.1, AirPort Extreme) does not automatically reconnect to my wife network after waking from sleep or restart. I just recently switched the iMac from a wired to wireless set-up though the machine has always had the AirPort card. In wired mode, it always automatically found the network.
Network preferences have the "Ask to join new networks" checkbox selected. Below the checkbox it reads "Known networks will be joined automatically."
My wireless router is Linksys WRT150N, security type is PSK and encryption method is AES key.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I'm having the same problem, the only way i can connect to my wireless network is to restart the computer, and open safari immediately. Then once it goes to sleep or i shut the notebook, i have to restart it again to use the internet. It's driving me nuts, and nobody knows how to fix it. I've tried firefox (it didn't help) and my sisters macbook connects just fine to my network, so it has to be a network setting. I'm going to schedule an appointment with a mac store tomorrow. so I'll post again when they fix it for me. hopefully i will understand how they solve the problem so i can post it to you guys

  • Hardware Diagnostics Test doesn't see my network

I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro that I just purchased, refurbished.  I need to run a hardware diagnostics test on it as I am getting kernel panics after installing Adobe Creative Cloud.
I have confirmed that I have the ability to run this test.  I hit option D at startup as instructed but when I get to the screen to choose my network, Mac doesn't see it.  I even tried a wired ethernet connection and it's not seeing it.
I'm sitting in the same spot in the house as always and I can access wireless just fine when I start up normally.
    Can anyone help?  Thanks!

The AHT is almost completely useless, so you're not missing much. If you want to run it and you don't have the discs, you can order replacements from Apple customer service. You would do better to start a new thread describing the actual problem you have, rather than what you think is causing it or how you think it should be solved.

  • Apple TV doesn't see my network

I have a relatively new ATV - bought within the last 4 months or so. Initial set up without a hitch. Now, this morning, it disconnected from the network and I can't get it to reconnect. I've unplugged it, done a reset on my Airport Extreme base station, etc and it doesn't see my network. It sees a number of other networks in the vicinlty, but not mine. I've tried typing in the name of my network - nothing.
    Anybody have a solution?
    Thanks!

ok, never got the Apple TV to work wirelessly, but ended up moving an AP Express to the TV and plugging in the ATV to the e-net port of the express. not really the way I wanted it to work, but it does.

  • Can't Connect to WiFi Network After Changing Encryption

I have an iPod Touch that no longer connects to my wifi network at home.
Some background: I have an aipport extreme base station with three XP laptops, an iMac and a printer connected to it wirelessly. I use a WPA Personal password. My wife's iPhone connects without a problem.
I recently changed the password on the base station to WPA Personal because one of the laptops could not connect using WEP (solution to inconsistent hashing of 13 character password problem found elsewhere in this forum). Ever since changing the password, the iPod touch will not connect.
I have looked for, but cannot find the "Forget Network" button on the wifi network page on the iPod touch (I understand that button appears after you have successfully connected to the network). I have reset the iPod up to and including removing all data.
When I go into the settings>wifi menu, I see the network's SSID. When I input the password, I get a "cannot connect to . . . " message.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

Macbook Air with OS X 10.8.2 not automatically connecting to known wifi network after sleep

If you are using WEP as a security on your router that is why it won't connect. WEP is so old school and very insecure that Apple has made it so there WiFi cards won't connect to WEP. It might as well be wide open. You can try that. Take all security, WEP/WPA/WPA2, off your router and see if it connects.
If it does then use either WPA or better WPA2.

  • HT1695 Can't Find any wifi Networks after updragding to 6.0.1

My iPhone 4 can't find any wifi networks after upgrading to iOS 6.0.1 and i can't downgrade what should i do ?
I swtiched off  the connection from mobile and restared the router and nothing changed!
Note: My laptop found about 7 Networks my iphone finds nothing

I have the exact same problem.
It popped up on my 8gb iPhone (2.0.1) first time when i just purchased it. The Wheel spins as if it's searching for hotspots (and there are a lot of hotspots where i live). My MacbookPro finds them without any problems.
Second time i experienced these problems, it was after i didn't have a chance to charge the phone, and i figured it was a "Low battery, disable wifi" thing. But even though i charged it fully, it still can't scan networks.
I managed to discharge the battery, until the 10% warning popped up. I connected the charger, and sure enough, it was able to scan networks. Then when i tried to join a network, it stopped working again, and since then i've been unable to scan wifi. Now 3 resets, and a lot of fiddling later, i'm no further than i was before.
The fact that it was able to scan momentarily points me in the direction of the software, but i'm not so sure anymore.
Hope someone can shed some light on this.

  • HT5437 When I try to connect to a WiFi network that I need a screen pops up and says "The network you're attempting to join requires you to install a profile on your Apple TV." What does this mean?

When I try to connect to a WiFi network that I need a screen pops up and says "The network you're attempting to join requires you to install a profile on your Apple TV." What does this mean?

Yes, home sharing requires both to be on the same wifi network. As it stands access to the network requires the login via webpage, which cannot be done on Apple TV.  You will need to speak to IT in order to grant access for the device.
