If my ADE authorized computer is lost or stops working, how do I deauthorize it?

Dear anyone ..... including Adobe.
If I have a computer that has been authorized on Adobe Digital Editions and it is lost or stolen or stops working, how can I de-authorize it?

Be certain you understand before attempting anything.
There's nothing wrong with asking clarification questions... but the links are to detailed information,,.. it would be redundant to copy/paste the entire contents here.
You may want to print out the directions.
First try booting into safe mode to see if the kernel panic still occurs.
If it does you have hardware issues, or disk corruption... . Disk corruption can often be solved by Disk Repair (sometimes it cant ... then it means replacing the SSD)
If the problem goes away in a safe boot we are possibly looking at a corrupt (or weird) 3rd party extension.
Take it in stages.

The tool is called a “callout” note. It places a text box with a leader. It’s been working just fine until suddenly it stopped working and I get an error message saying “desired operation cannot be performed on this object”. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I had the same problem. The fix I found was to open itunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT), click Edit, Preferences, and then the "Store" tab. Uncheck the box that says "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases". This got me running, but unfortunately I have a movie on the cloud that I now can't see.

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:

You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.

ADE 2.0 & 3.0 has stopped working on load

Hi!
I'm desperate here because this error has stopped me full-on from doing what I love...reading and reviewing ebooks. Publishers (big ones, like Harper Collings, Simon & Schuster, Disney/Hyperion) send me ebooks, first encrypted with .ascm. Up until today I have had absolutely NO problems.
Today, ADE 2.0 stopped working when I tried to open a file I'd just downloaded. I did the normal things...I checked for a new update - version 3.0 is available so I uninstalled 2.0 and installed 3.0. Now 3.0 is not working. I restarted my computer twice, I tried installing from another account on my computer (I have an account and so do my kids), I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice, and I even read a solution that said that a file in My Digital Editions could be corrupt so to delete that folder and try to open it.
NOTHING is working.
This is VERY important for me to get working...without it, I can't do my "job". I run a book review blog, and without the books to review I'm sortof at a standstill.
Please help!
Oh, also I use Windows 8 if that helps.

Unfortunately, I'm not getting an error...instead of loading I just see "Adobe Digital Editions 2.0/3.0 has stopped working". Which is extremely unhelpful.
The solution I came up with on my own was to uninstall ADE 2.0 and 3.0 and download a super old version and install it. Somewhere in the forums here someone said 1.7.2 works, so that's the one I've got running now and my problem has disappeared. Since I use it only for opening the files and then transfer them to another program, I don't really care which version I'm running...
Though it is EXTREMELY irritating that the only option to open these files is ADE and it doesn't work properly and there is no support. If they're going to have a program people will need to use on a daily basis (with absolutely no other option), they need to be sure that they're there to help when things go wrong!

How do you deauthorize a dead computer for itunes? We only get 5 computers, and I need a new computer to be authorized for itunes.

If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.

Itunes will not open on computer says it has stopped working and it must be closed. My computer tells me its an incompatible app. Is there a problem with the new itunes or is it my computer?

I have recently downloaded the new itunes. My computer will open itunes but then a screen pops up that says Itunes has stopped working and must close. This happens every time and i can not by pass it. I am afraid all my music is gone as well. I found on my computer that its an incompatible app. What does that mean exactly? I had to do a restore on my computer and lost mozzilla beta 7 how do I get it back

I noticed that I had a new link for beta 8 I clicked on it and it crashed my whole computer after alot of research I finally had to do a restore. When I did that everytime I tried to open any of my shortcuts I kept getting the crash reporter so I would submit the crash, but it got to be 20 times in a row. so I had to go back to IE. I have no Idea what to do I've lost my bookmarks and everthing.

K8N Neo 2 Platinum Computer just...stopped working! Help needed please.

Hey all. About hmm, a month ago I built myself a new PC (first time I'd done it from scratch and got some useful help here) Specs were:
MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum, A64 3200+ Venice, 1GB DDR Corsair Value, Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb, 40GB Hard Disk IDE, 80GB Hard Disk IDE, CD R/RW Drive and a Tagan 420W (23A 12V+) PSU.
Ok, it worked the day I built it just fine and has NO hick-ups or any indication of a problem for the past month. Running temperature was very cool etc. Now, I last turned it on about 24 hrs ago, downloaded some PDF files, shut it down. All was fine. Woke up this morning. Pressed the power button: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. ZIp. No hum, fan movement, anything.
Now, considering it seems to have broken whilst being turned off. What could be the problem? So far I've tried:
* Using a different power socket
* Using a different plug
* Reconnecting the power switch and motherboard power connectors
None of those worked. There wasn't a thunderstorm or anything so I don't think any kind of surge would have been the problem. I havn't tried manually shorting the power switch connectors. What's a safe way to do that? Any other suggestions? How can I test my PSU is infact doing something?

Computer Freezes and Keyboard Stops Working

I'm having serious issues with my computer freezing and not responding. I thought that it maybe a problem with OS X so I re-installed that but to no avail that did not ameliorate the situation. Not to mention it was near impossible to re-install it because the computer would keep freezing.
Now after I start up the computer, it will begin functioning normally I can open applications, etc but after probably 5 min, regardless of what I'm doing it will freeze and the keyboard and mouse will not work.
So to restart the computer I have to hold down on the power button. But then after I have waited the recommended 30 seconds to a minute to turn it back on the computer screen won't always illuminate. So I have to wait more like 15 to 25 minutes to try and turn the computer back on then the screen will work.
I'm not sure why this is happening, I just bought this computer less than a month ago, and this "problem" just started happening a couple of days ago. I'm a little frustrated, because this computer is brand new, do you think I just got a faulty computer or what?
If anyone has any advice or knows why this is happing please let me know. Thanks.

a) It's Aluminum, not Titanium. There's another set of Discussions forums that are specific to your model, and others with the same model may have suggestions for you that we Tibook owners won't.
b) You have a warranty, and this is what it's for. Don't hesitate to report the problem to the store where you bought the computer, or by phone to Applecare.

Computer locking up/input stops working

ok get this. Brand new 30gb 5th gen ipod, bring it home... plug the cord in WITHOUT the ipod and my computer locks up and starts beeping continuously. Happens everytime, though once I did see the confirmation that the hardware had been found in the corner.
Im running a PC with XP sp2, have 4 usb2 ports... which all react pretty much the same... Ive brought the ipod to an internet cafe and it seems to work fine...
