My apple ID was set up on a Mac. Will my iMessages from my iPad show up on the Mac too?
Sorry - I should add - if there are two apple ids set up on one Mac, do you need to sign in using your apple Id in order to see iMessages sent to the iPad associated with the apple Id?

Yes, if she has your Apple ID & Password, she can see any messages that are sent to you as iMessages using another iOS device.

I want to buy an Apple TV for my grandchild so she can play content from her Ipad on her family's big screen TV. She has cable WiFi in her home does she need anything else beside the Apple TV. Also what is AirPlay. Is it an app, a service or a seperate hardware from the Apple TV?
Airplay is a wireless streaming protocol. It allows content to be pushed from the iPad through the Apple TV onto your connected HDTV.
If she wants to see the iPad displayed on the big screen and/or play games that involves mirroring. As long as it's an iPad 2 (or later) then you will be fine. More info on both has been referened below

Backing up saves your data to the backup. You need to transfer your purchases before you sync or backup if you want to preserve the new content that you have acquired directly to the iPad. You will find that command in the iTunes File menu on your computer or by right clicking the name of your iPad in the devices list in iTunes on your computer.

Hi maggieanntb, your sister's Apple ID came up because an app(s) was downloaded using her account. To prevent that from happening, you would have to delete the app(s) that were downloaded on her's, and re-download them using your own Apple ID.

Last Spring I received a couple of emails to an alias I set up a long time ago under mac mail with mac.com - not my main ID - at mac.com. The mail had the Icloud extension. I just deleted it.
I then received a couple of e-mails forwarded to the same alias that came from a non-apple account that led me to search to see if the company was legit - it was. Using a non-apple hidden account I sent that non-apple account an email informing them apparently when they registered the ID or alias as an ICLOUD extension - apple did not check for duplication in accounts or aliases that were not in the Icloud.
I also sent feedback to Apple telling them to fix it and apparently they did - along with the person who replicated my alias.
On this site there were a number of postings from people who also had problems with mac mail and Icloud who resolved it by contacting Apple and getting the accounts cleared up. -

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. My iMessages were always automatically synced with my 6 monthold iPhone 4S. However the phone recently had to be replaced by apple because of a faulty wifi antenna. The new phone was restored from backup. It works fine but iMessage no longer syncs with my ipad. I've looked into the settings and can't see anything wrong? I can iMessage from my phone and iMessage from my ipad but they don't synch. Very frustrating. Would appreciate some help. My nearest spple store is 30 miles away. Thank you so much.

I cannot set up iMessage from my iPad.
I cannot set up iMessage from my iPad. Following the instructions Apple gives, my screen does not even appear the same. My number is not listed and it only comes from my email. I've had to reset my iPhone several times. Ideas to fix it? FaceTime also goes through my email.

If your phone number isn't listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.
On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.
If your phone number still isn't listed, follow these steps:
Sign out of your Apple ID on all iOS devices, including your iPhone, in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Receive At and Settings > FaceTime.

You can if you do not live in Florida, apparently. I called this morning to add AppleCare+ and after giving my info (explaining that the Apple Store is 50 miles (at least) from me, I was going strong until she realized that I live in Florida. Apparently, some moron in the FL State Legislature got a bill passed to "protect" senior citizens and you can't buy things like AppleCare+ online or over the phone!! You have to do it in person. No. You cannot link your contacts to hers. However, you can use Home Sharing to share the information:

Sometimes I will get a notification that x device is using my apple ID for FaceTime (or other services). Sometimes it is just generic Mac Book Pro. His can I see which devices are using my ID (and can you see more details than just the name)?
I just started getting this message too. Just started the last couple of days. It doesn't give a time that it was used. All it says that "appleid" was used to sign in to facetime on Macbook. My Macbook is not named "Macbook." It also doesn't correlate to times when computer is being used.
