If my firmware is corrupt, how do I restore iphone and then sync if it is set up as a new phone
I was told that my 'Springboard' firmware was corrupt and taking my battery life down hard. If I restore my phone as if it is a new one, how then can I sync my stuff back onto it? It seems that if I restort as new, I have no sync info to work with.

No such thing has occurred. iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

How do you restore iphone as a new phone? Actually, I know how to restore it but I'm not sure how to get the files back on after... I don't really understand how this will be any different from just restoring from a backup if I'm just going to put the content on later anyways.
Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated!
The reason I'm asking about this is because my battery life on my 4S is soooo bad!
BrandonAh. So, the reason it'll help to use as new device is because typically the app data is not the issue. It's a corrupt system file. So using new device takes away any corrupt system files and almost always solves most any issue. However it does cause the pain of having to add everything back. I've done this in cases where restoring from backup just didn't solve my issue. It ***** but is sometimes needed.

I am trying to edit my music list and then sync it to my iPhone 5 so I don't run out of storage space. However, I see the check marks on the iTunes library but am unable to uncheck them? You uncheck the music in your iTunes library on your computer and along with sync only checked songs and videos selected under the Summary selection for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, only checked songs in your iTunes library will be transferred to your iPhone or remain on your iPhone and the unchecked songs in your iTunes library that are currently on your iPhone will be removed when syncing.
Or make use of iTunes playlists and choose selected playlists, albums, artists under the Music selection for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and select the playlists below that you want transferred to your iPhone. -

Double Tab the home button on the iPad and then swipe your recently used apps from left to right until you see the mirroring icon which looks like a retangle with an up arrow. With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Try using the Software Update on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Software Update. One thing to keep in mind if you are trying it on the computer is to make sure that you are not pressing any keys down when checking for updates as that may bring up a pop up window to find the update file.

You don't. Backup your itunes library on the old computer and move it to the new computer.

You do not register the phone with the laptop. If you are using the same Apple ID on the new phone as the old, you will have no trouble. Connect the phone and you can restore from a backup of the old phone, or just sync your new phone if it is already set up, with the laptop, managing your content in iTunes.

I forgot the passcode to turn off restrictions. I have restored my iPad back to the factory settings and then synced it with the latest backup. The restrictions are still on and it is asking for the passcode. Can someone tell me how to get that off.
The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings. Hope you have a backup.
Follow the instructions in iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

I'd start off your troubleshooting process by deleting and redownloading the songs:
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
Download your previously purchased song from this list.

I recently did an update and my iphone 4 battery now drains within 6 hours (preveiously would be fine for 36 hours), I was told to reset my iphone and then set it up as a new phone , so as not to have the problem recur. How do I do this and maintain my contacts and calendar if I am not using my computer back up?
Of course the battery "runs" constantly, otherwise the phone would die. Duh!
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -

AJThere is no need to unsync an iPod Classic to iTunes library, your iTunes Library can be sync to more than one mobile device.
So just plug in your iPhone and sync it.
However if you want to delete the music from your iPod Classic, just plug it in and press Restore, or to another PC iTunes, and sync from that PC, it will delete and replace your iPod with the music from that new PC itunes.

There are 5 of us in this house with IPhones and we all want to control the apple tv with our phones. We all have separate iTunes accounts. How do we do this?
I have 3 iPhones in my house and 1 apple tv.
I do NOT set a password on my apple tv, so any iPhone can send video to the tv.
Any iPhone can use the apple remote option also.
Just play a video and click that square with an arrow and play on apple tv. The video comes up from any iPhone in my house.
