If Nokia N8 original casing is changeable?

I went to a Nokia store and they got only the black Nokia N8.But I would like to buy the orange one.They told me to buy the black one and in February 2011,they would be able to change the casing into an orange one.Is it changeable?

the normal user would not be able to change the cover by themselves (N8 doesnt have xpress-on covers) but I dont see any reason why they wouldnt be able to make the change at an authorised Nokia care centre.
Once they receive the train to repair the N8, they should be able to perform the change

Well, Nokia does have a factory in China. The easiest way to know if you are using an original phone is the presence of Ovi Maps, and Ovi Store apps in the phone. If they arent there, then its fake.

Nokia 603 original apps missing

so i recently gota a nokia 603 from my dad as a birthday present....i used it for a while and changed some settings...after doing this i decided to do a hard reset on the device.......after the fone restarted i noticed that some of the original apps had gone missing.....and also i cannot access social, nokia store, maps...and other preinstalled apps through mobile data..but its possible to access them through wifi...please help me

afaik it's caused by hard resetting the device by quad-key combination. I've had the same problem and had to ask in nokia service for OS flashing

I just got my N8 and I am very happy with it. I made mistake and deleted all those 38 pictures N8 had in it. I am wondering if it is possible to get them back somehow? Can someone please help?

You could try some UNDELETE utility or something. But in my experience the recovered files will have missing pixels or other errors.
Another option would be to go to a Nokia Care center and ask.
Other than that maybe someone could be nice and post them to Flickr, Picassa, Photobucket, Hotbox or some file sharing site.

Email 'view' spoilt using Nokia's original default...

I detest the the midnight themes forced on to us by the symbian anna update. As i feared the lovely clean Nokia 'black' theme ( badly named but basically green grass, blue sky) is nowhere to be seen on the update..why why oh Nokia?
Anyway managed to find the theme file on-line and everything looks wonderful BUT and it's a big but.. the email view colour scheme is not rendered correctly in short it's looks **bleep**..it should be white text for the email and white text for the email day heading instead its dark blue and the blue used on the day heading is so faint it's unreadable.
Has anybody else found this??

Yes, exactly the same problem here. If you use any theme apart from the default black and white one, the email reader and the email widget for homescreen look bad.

Nokia 8800 original silver problem?

Hi can anyone help me I have a nokia 8800 silver and recently it has developed a problem where I cannot hear the person who has called me? When I turn the phone on the nokia tune is quite loud and audible as normal but when I am making a call I can barely hear the other person? It is really strange can anyone advise how to repair this ? Is it a common fault ? I have checked the speaker volume on the phone and it is fully up so it isn't anything as simple as that. I would really appreciate any help with this as I love this phone and do not want send it to phone heaven. I look forward to your responses.

might be the earpiece that has failed. have you checked that you are up to date with the latest firmware for your device via checking via Nokia suite? also try Restoring your phone to factory settings.

I feel the same. I have sent support request to Nokia few weeks ago and did not get any response except the automatic reply when I lodged the support request. There are much rooms for Ovi Store to come up with market place of competitor platform. There are many posts in this forum stated their problem for re-downloading the purchased application. The funny "SOLVED" solution in these posts seem to be "CONTINEOUS EMAIL" to Nokia Support. Is this efficient support?

Query created in production system and object changeability

Hi,
The production BW has the object changeability for query elements set to 'Changeable original'. Some queries which have been created in this system can be changed, others, which have also been created in the system, can not.
All queries are assigned to the development packate $TMP. None of them have been transported anywhere, nor have they been created somewhere else and transported into the system.
The system is BW 3.5, SP 17.
Has anyone got any idea what the problem could be?

The object changeability in the system is set to 'Changeable Original' and I know where to switch from 'not changeable' to 'changeable original' to 'everything changeable'.
The normal development cycle sees reports being created in the development system and then being transported through to the production system. Here, they should not be changeable. However, users with the relevant authorisation should be able to either -
- create new copies of these reports and change them or
- create new ad-hoc reports and also change these
We have several of these reports on the production system. The object changeability is set to 'changeable original', as I mentioned. I would expect that all queries which have been created on this system and never transported (either in or out of the system) should be changeable, based on this setting. However, some are, some ar not. The error message when trying to change the 'non-changeable' ones is 'Operation falied! No error message available from the server'. If I make a copy of one of these queries, hoping to save is as an ad-hoc query and change it, the error message is 'query could not be saved due to a problem in transport'.
How come some can be changed, others can't? Is there anywhere I can check what the difference is between the changeable and non-changeable reports which have been created on the system?

Nokia Photos - Is anybody still using it?

More and more people think Ovi Suite has lost its focus - to become the main software to manage a Nokia phone. I do not know what went wrong with it - perhaps the need to create a software that is simple to configure/use, comparing to Nokia PC Suite, but it's clear to me, this is not what Ovi Suite is...
Although, I admit that using Nokia software was not always so frustrating: I do remember how I felt when I first used Nokia Lifeblog - later it became Nokia Photos. I had paid in order to use it when it came out - still, I have no remorse for it - because the idea of managing your phone content over a timeline was amazing! When Nokia Lifeblog was replaced with Nokia Photos, for a moment I thought that's it; I would not be able to manage my phone's content anymore. Nevertheless, the misleading name, had nothing to do with what the software was offering...
Today, a friend suggested to see KIN.com - I was amazed with KIN Studio - a Nokia Lifeblog/Nokia Photo replica in Silverlight, that is offered for Windows Mobile powered phones. It looks like that Microsoft found the "phone content over timeline" idea more interesting, and they are investing on it - Nokia that originally come up with the idea is done with it, as Nokia Photos is an "archived" application!
Is anybody still using Nokia Photos? Does anyone think that the "phone content over timeline" idea should be something Nokia should be invest on, and this would be the idea to use for a software like Ovi Suite?

I like the concept but, like everything else Nokia does, its just poor execution. They started Lifeblog, ok cool. Then came Photos; ok same concept. Now they've completely ditched Photos and gone to Ovi suite. They dont get the fact that people want to archive there data, not just switch to the latest gimmick. At least offer an effective way to smoothly transfer data. Argh!! so frustrating!
I have my earlier data on Lifeblog and my latest data on Photos (thank god I didn't merge the two). Photos wont open anymore And Nokia is pathetically useless in the matter. There market share worldwide will diminish pretty soon, thanks to Google and Apple

Nokia n95 jumping software

i have a nokia n95 original that jumps when i press a key...when scrolling it jumps forward two places when i press the navigational key once...has anyone know how to solve this issue?

On a device of this vintage it may well be hardware related issue due to wear, but provided that you backup essential data first it could be worthwhile trying reset to "out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user).

LUMIA 800 Epic cosmetic issues

I've came across an issue with my polycarbonate LUMIA 800. As I've removed the original casing that comes with the LUMIA 800, I realised the layer of "DIRT" on the phone. I've attempted to clean it off with soap and water but it cant be removed.
The LUMIA 800 comes with a silicone casing and I'm suspecting it is ruined by the given silicone casing that was bundled with the phone. The purpose of putting the silicone casing is to protect, not ruin the beautiful cosmetic matt black surface.
You guys had this issue? Those who had the used the bundled silicone casing can probably take it out and take a look!
I've already surfaced the problem since 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for NOKIA Singapore's reply.

I would advicw you not to worry about it so much. I've been using the case for almost 5 months now, since launch.
Agreed, when you take out the case, the body looks really bad n the stains dont go even after a lot of cleaning. However, leave it without the cover for a day or two and it regains its original clean texture. I'm guessing it gets polished while moving around in your pockets or something.
