I need help, about adobe offer some fee or service for a online translation of a ebook with acrobat drm protection?; the ebook reader I am using is adobe digital edition version 4.0.2.103411, the document format is EPUB; The language I need translate is from Italian to Spanish.

Set your Computer to work with our eBook provider
1. Download and install Adobe Digital Editions. This software requires Flash.
2. Open up Adobe Digital Editions. It will ask you to activate your software with an Adobe ID.
3. If you create an Adobe ID:
a. You may download the book to more than one computer as long as the computers all
use the same Adobe ID. (Up to 6 computers can be activated using one Adobe ID.)
b. You can transfer your eBooks only to Nooks that are using the same Adobe ID.
4. If you decide to continue anonymously:
a. You will not be able to transfer eBooks to your Nook!
b. You may only download to one computer.
c. You can activate an Adobe ID at any time. However, you may lose the rights to see any
eBooks that were downloaded previously.
5. We recommend that you create an Adobe ID. Follow the steps to do so.
6. Activate your Nook by plugging it into your computer with Adobe Digital Editions open.
7. Adobe Digital Editions will detect your Nook and ask to activate it using the same Adobe ID as
your copy of Adobe Digital Editions. Follow the prompts. (It may take a few minutes for Digital
Editions to see your Nook.)
Getting your eBook on to your Nook
1. Open up Adobe Digital Editions.
2. Plug in your Nook. If you have not previously set it up, Adobe Digital Editions will ask to register
your Nook using the same Adobe ID as your Digital Editions.
3. Your Nook will appear on the left under Bookshelves.
4. To transfer your eBook to the Nook, click on your previously downloaded eBooks and drag them
to the Nook icon. The book will transfer.
5. Unplug your Nook.
6. To find your new eBook, go to My Library.
7. On the touch screen, scroll up until you see My Documents.
8. Your new book will be in My Documents.
9. Enjoy!

Obtaining ebook without Adobe Digital Editions

Hello.
Our partner is planning to implement some kind of kiosk - publically accessed computer where customers would be able to download ebooks to their ebook reader devices. Thus in such a setup, fulfillment requests can not be carried via digital editions as it's not possible to reauthorise digital editions to each user adobe ID, thus we need some way to generate fulfillment request and get the file tied to user adobe ID without use of Adobe digital editions.
Is such setup possible and how it can be achieved ?
Just to make clear - reader devices that we going to use have only USB interface and no internet connectivity, and thus can not communicate directly with the server - PC have to generate fulfillment request and accept the file. Though device.xml and authorisation.xml files from the reader are readily available.

You can print the book if the publisher has given the print permission.
Can you provide the exact error statement? It will be helpful in understanding the issue.

Adobe digital editions will not finish downloading ebook even after double clicking on hard drive .

ADE will not download and open the ebook automatially. After locating the .ascm (ebook) file on the hard drive and double clicking on that, it still will not open in ADE.

I did all that and after I close the ADE and double click on the file, ADE opens right up and it looks like it is downloading (very fast), but nothing shows up in the ADE.
How do I only get emails from you and not all the other people on the discussion?

Right click on the ACSM file or option click and go to Open With and select Other. You can then navigate to your Adobe Digital Editions and set the file to open with that. I would then recommend closing Digital Editions, if you have it open, and try double clicking the file. If Adobe Digital Editions opens then the file association is still correct. If you continue to have difficulties then I would recommend contacting the vendor you obtained the e-book from.

Is Toshiba Journ.e Touch compatible with Adobe Digital Editions?

Greetings from Barcelona!
I have problems to authorize my Toshiba Journ.e Touch. Adobe Digital Editions recognizes the device, but there is no way to authorize it, there is no option for this.
Thus I cannot transfer my ebooks from my computer to the Toshiba. At the Adobe Forum it seems that other users had the same problem. I cannot transfer my ebooks from my computer to the Toshiba Device.
Does anybody know what is wrong or how to solve this?

unfortunately, it is not possible to use the "Adobe Digital Editions" on the JournE Touch.
The system requirements of the JournE Touch are not enough for this program.

Is PRS-950 Compatible with Adobe Digital Edition?

I was trying to check out books from my local public library and then transfer it to my new PRS-950 but the Adobe Digital Edition won't recognize the Reader, so I cannot authorize the reader with Adobe ID. How do I fix this problem? I also have the Sony Reader Library, which does not import the .acsm file downloaded from the local public library website. Any suggestions? Thanks.

When you download the acsm file from the public library (ebook epub format), choose to Open it. That will cause Adobe Digital Editions to automatically start up and download the book. To find out where the file was placed, go to the Reading/Item Info menu in Adobe Digital Editions. My books were placed in /My Documents/My Digital Editions folder. Now go to Sony Reader Library to the File/Import Files menu, to the directory where Adobe Digital Editions saved your epub file, select the file and now it's in the Sony Reader Library and you have whatever time the library gave you to read it (2 weeks in my case). Hope this helps.

Saving a DRM book to pendrive/external disk to later download and read it on personal notebook (with Adobe Digital Editions)

I installed Adobe Digital Editions on my mother's personal computer and activated my Adobe ID in order to be able to purchase, download and read DRM books there.
But is it possible to save the DRM books to a pendrive or external hard disk, so that I can "carry them" and later download and read them on my personal notebook (having previously installed Adobe Digital Editions and activated my Adobe ID in the notebook)?
I don't know if DRM books can be saved to pendrives and external hard disks...

Incidentally, you do know that you can buy kindle or Nook apps for your ipad? I was assuming you wanted a DE-specific app.
EDIT Actually, those apps are free--you just pay for what you buy through them, if that helps you any.
Incidentally, O'Reilly, my publisher, uses PDF for real galley purposes, although they do create epub editions of their books for distribution. You might want to ask the publishers you work with if there's another format available.

At present, the only places you can buy copy-protected ebooks that are suitable for the Sony Reader are from Sony's own ebook store and from Borders.com. The books you buy from eBooks.com won't work on the Sony Reader.

You need do nothing more.
You will need to authorize your computer for both accounts as you have purchased from both accounts.

Hi, I am a Danish citizen, living in Germany (IP address!!). Want to be able to read Danish eBooks, downloadet fra Danish IN-sites (ex.: saxo.com/DK/ ) and of course in Danish language!

Not seen that message before, but two standard suggestions that may help.
1) ~~~~~
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

I've been downloading books from the New York Public Library to my PC and then I move the book into ADE and from ADE to my Nook without any problems. I've also been able to return the books from ADE to the library although I have yet to learn how to delete them Nook. You may want to recertify your computer for the ADE by selecting Library on the ADE b ar and moving down to "authorize computer"and click "finish" I also do that when I have the Nook connected and select device and once it has been confirmed as authorized I copy the book to the Nook. I hope this helps.

Can you print to PDF with Adobe Digital Editions?

I have Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 on a PC I use at school. I am able to print documents to Adobe PDF and create them into a PDF by choosing Adobe PDF instead of a printer.
I have purchased an eBook that opens in Adobe Digital Editions. The book allows unlimited printing.
Is it possible to print parts of the book to PDF and create a PDF instead of printing the pages out onto paper?

No, this is expressly disallowed. If you think about it, that would allow you to circumvent the DRM protection and the publishers therefore forbid this.
