If someone erases my ipod can i still track it?

My daughter misplaced her iPod touch about 2 days ago. I have the latest iOS installed as well as "Find My iPhone" installed with location services turned on. Due to the device being an iPod touch I will only be able to locate it once it is connected to the internet. I've sent the "Play a sound" as well as a "Please call ##### when found" but it still says pending. If someone does in fact find it and doesn't "do the right thing" and erases it to keep for themselves, will I ever be notifed of it's location again so I can re-claim her iPod? Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If someone erases the iPod, your Apple ID won't be on the iPod, so the message you sent through Find my iPhone won't be received. Furthermore, you won't be able to track your iPod because it's under another Apple ID

IPhone was stolen, I was tracking it with the police then signal stopped, so the phone must be off, I have cancelled my contract so I don't get any charges, if someone has managed to whip the phone and are now calling it their own can i still track it?

I was tracking my stolen phone, then the phone must have been switched off, it says on icloud that the phone is offline, i have cancelled my sim card so i dont get any charges, my phone had a passcode on it, if someone whipes the phone and tries to use it them selves can i still track the phone with icloud? also will icloud show me the location of the phone the moment someone tries to charge it(even though it wont get signal) or will icloud work if someone connects it to a computer?

if the thief is experienced and wipes the phone you're out of luck. this is a flaw with 'find my iphone' whats the point of it, if someone can just simply wipe the phone? lame. keep sending mesages to it. if/when they finally get through then you'll get an email saying so. then immediately after getting an email, track it again, its likely still powered on and you can locate it.

If you already had the FindMyiPhone feature set up, you left wifi on, the iPod had not yet been restored and some other conditions were met then yes. Other wise no.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Yes. All they have to do is to restore the iPod and use it/sell it. Apple will do nothings to prevent that.
- If you previously turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and location service is on, and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. It the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- Report to police and change the passwords fro all accounts used on the iPod.
- Apple will not help

If you signed up for Find my iPhone you should be able to track it, unless the thief has turned the phone off or removed the SIM card. Also, if the thief has restored the phone it will no longer work. Log into www.iCloud.com and see if you can see the device. If not, then there is nothing you can do but notify the police and change all of the passwords on things you had on the device. Sorry for your loss.

Unfortunately if the device is off or not connected or if FindMyiPhone isn't active you can't.
