If something were to happen to my Zen Micro

well, was wondering if anything should happen to my zen micro that allows me to get it replaced by Creative(under warrenty), would Creative replace my Zen Micro with a Zen Micro Photo?
Also, if they just replaced it with a regular zen micro, would they allow me to pick the color of my choice? I really want to get a Red or Silver one. The dark blue one i have is okay, but not the color i wanted in the first place, i just got it cuz all the other colors were sold out.

From what others have said you can change the colour, but you need to check first with Support of course. I doubt they'll change it for a Photo.

What happened to the Zen Micro Pho

I had asked my parents to buy me the Zen Micro Photo as a gift for Christmas and they thought they had got the right one but they got the older Zen Micro, not the photo one. Not a big deal I thought, I would just go back to the store and exchange it. Well, it seems that the Micro Photo doesn't even exist anywhere. It isn't even available to buy on Creatives store, it isn't even listed as an option. Every store I have called told me that they don't carry that model, and every web site I have gone to is out of stock. I even called Amazon.com and asked them when they thought they would be getting more in and they said they didn't know. I called Bestbuy, CircuitCity, various electronics stores in the New York/New Jersey areas and everyone is sold out or never carried it. Just two weeks ago I saw it for sale on Creatives site and now it isn't there. I plan on calling Creatives customer service in the morning and asking them about it. Does anyone here know what happened, is it going to be available again or is it being replaced?

Yeah, I don't think the microphoto has been discontinued. I just think they're having some stock supply/demand issues and they're all sorts of screwed up with their websites for different regions around the world and the availability of items. It would be dumb to get rid of the micro and the microphoto since that would leave nothing to really compete with the ipod nano (and I don't think too many people are buying the neeon, but I could be wrong).
Though I still would like to hear what the moderators know about the future of all of the different creative mp3 players.

Oh dear god..something terrible has happened to my zen sleek photo 2

i was downloading cds onto my, usually well behaved,?mp3 player (zen sleek photo 20gb) and something popped up saying it had to stop ripping. i took the cd out and put it back in and it still wouldnt work, i looked at my player and the docking symbol had dissapeared..its now just a blank screen, as if it was off, but the power button on the top is glowing blue?i keep being told that 'one of the usb devices attatched to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows doesnt recognise it'..the zen media centre thingy doesnt?recognise it and?it deosnt show up on 'my compter' either...i've restarted the computer (didnt work), unplugged the usb, replugged it in (doesnt work), tried recharging it (doesnt work either!)?so i've basically?got an mp3 with blank screen that my pc doesnt recognise in anyway, but has a blue glowing button!?argh!?is it dead?has this ever happened to anyone elses? if?anyone has any ideas how to make it work again ill be the gratefullest thing ever!?

Zen Micro headphone jack horror stories, truth or scar

I've been looking for an Mp3 player for over 4 months(since January), and I have looked through many Micro-Hard Dri've and Flash Memory players, including: Dell Pocket DJ, iPod Mini, Rio Carbon, Creative Zen Micro, iPod Shuffle, Creative MuVo Micro N200, and Creative MuVo TX FM. I'm glad to say that I decided on the Zen Micro. I've had it for 4 days now(including today), and so far, it is working great, better than I had hoped. Everything is nice about it; the only that scares me is the problem that many people have with the Zen Micro, the headphone jack problem. I've heard numerous reports of people with a Zen Micro who complain that after about 2-5 months of usage, the headphone jack will break, and little or NO sound will come out of it. And they say that this is a problem that is meant to happen with all Zen Micros. Hmmm is this true? I hope this doesn't happen to me. Do you think that upgrading the firmware will help fix the problem(btw, I still use ..03....or something like that, I haven't updated it)?

That doesn't make any difference, reportedly... just prolonges the problem so it doesn't break until the warranty's over....

Okay, I am getting very, VERY sick of all the hassle with this litlte piece of junk.My Zen Micro has had a series of problems and, personally, I just want rid of the little beast. But, unfortunately, I'm not one of those cliche upper-class Canadian kids who can harass their parents into getting them a new one. So, I guess I just want to know if anyone's got any suggestions for me in my predicament.My Zen Micro's headphone jack recently became faulty and, as I have had multiple problems with it, I'm used to this. So I brought it back to the place I got it from and requested, very calmly, for them to ship it out for repairs. And, just my luck, that complany recently got into an argument with Creative and will no longer carry, service, or support their products. WONDERFUL.My warranty is going to be void in a matter of days and I'm very, VERY frustrated. This means they're no longer honouring my warranty, and, to me, that's just NOT COOL. I would like to stress that this is the HEADPHONE JACK AND NOT MY HEADPHONES. And, yes, I'm sure. I believe I was unlucky enough to get one of the ones where it wasn't properly sautered... and I don't know what to do about it. I guess, at this point, seeing as it seems like I'm left without any other options, I'm just gonna crack the thing open and try to fix it myself unless someone can suggest anything more logical. Yep, Philazen, that's it exactly. The jack is really sensiti've, and I usually end up in some really obscure position - with the cord of my headphones wrapped around my finger or a piece (or 20) of tape holding the headphone jack in a very specific place - if I want an at all reliable connection. I was told by the people who sold it to me a few months ago (only AFTER I returned my first one) that there were some faulty models of Zen Micros near the very beginning where the sound jack only had 2 pieces of sauter and let go very easily. However, it's also apparently a topic they're very touchy about and deny ever happening, but hey, at this point, I can only assume that's the case for me.Beasts indeed.

Zen Micro Problems...Help ple

I've had zen micro for a couple of months now, and on friday, I don't quite know what happened, but it sort of froze while I was using it. After it turing itself off, I turned it back on. The sceen came on normally, but at the next screen that should have been the one that says which song's you're listening to and stuff, it simply said "creative and froze. I tried letting the battery run out by itself, and recharging and turning it on, but nothing worked. I tried plugging it into my computer, but despite the fact hat I had just plugged it in the same way I always had, apparently the computer couldn't find a ny attached devices. I tried rebooting and whatnot already, and even tried wiping the disk empty, but it just keeps on freezing and not working. I tried phoninh in, but apparently my 60 day phone service or something has run out, so I came here. Does anyone know what I should do? :smileyindifferent:

I had nearly the same thing happened to my Zen Micro. It froze on me on the 3rd day after purchased while listening to a song. I would have to wait until it turned off and when switch on again it was stuck on the "Creative" screen. This screen would last for about minute then change to the "Recovery Mode" with four options. I tried all four options but none would work. I finally packed it up and exchanged it for a new one at best buy, this time I bought a 2-year performance plan for 20 bucks.
My pet theory... I used the "plays for sure" option which I believe may be problematic since it's new. Also, I may have made a mistake by trying to use the Zen Media Explorer and WMP0 for syncing. After downloading songs using ZME, I synced using WMP and realized it was trying to re-copy my entire library. I halted this operation and the next day my Zen froze.
My new Zen is now installed using the other firmware (not "plays for sure") ..0. So far, after a week, there has been no problems.
If yours doesn't go into recovery mode after a minute or so, you can force it by taking out the battery, slide and hold the on-switch on while replacing the battery. The Recovery Mode should start up. Good luck and hope you are able to fix yours.

A way how to fix the Zen Micro head phone jack prob

Hi! I am one of the many people that purchased a Zen Micro MP3 player, I loved it until around 6 months of use, an audio shorting problem with the head phone jack, started to repeat it's self every time, that I would plug my head phone's into the Zen Micro head phone jack. After awhile, I was tired of this problem, so I just decided to never use it again, unless I could find out if the maker of the Zen Micro had a repair service. I noticed that some people had their Micro's replaced a few times under the warranty that is included with the player. I also noticed that some one created a way to fix this problem, but I wanted to see if I could find an easier way to fix the problem. Well I did end up finding an easier way to fix the problem, this is what I did.
Absolutely in all means I can't be held responsible / reliable for any unforseen thing / things, that you may or could, do to the Zen Micro, by following the instructions, which I provided. By trying what I did by following the instructions, which I provided you; you accept all responsibility to any thing / things, that may or could happen to the Zen Micro.
The Instructions:
I took a stapler pressed it down to get a used staple then I carefully inserted it in the outer part of the plastic head phone jack ring. Then I pressed the rest of the staple flat against the Zen micro. And Now I get great sound, it is at least better than, the way it was before I inserted the staple. I would suggest to always remove the staple. When you connect the Zen Micro to a computer, charging device, or any other device other than a pair of head phones. You understand that if you leave the staple inserted in the Zen Micro and don't remove it. While you have it connected to a computer, charging device, or any other device, or devices, even a pair of head phones, and some thing happens, you can't hold me responsible.
If you would like to see a photo of how it looks please reply to this message and just include your email address please. I will send it to you as soon as possible. The photo has 4 photos sized down to perfectly fit on one photo, so you can get a good idea of what it should look like.

Can TWO different Zen Micros be installed on the same computer w/o confli

I have a Zen Micro 5G, and would like to buy a Zen Micro Photo 8G as well. Does anyone know if there will be conflicts to install the software (firmware?) on the SAME computer? I had conflicts when I tried to install two different Palm Pilots on the same computer - the software of the first Palm no longer worked properly. Perhaps the new one "overrides" the first? I don't know if this might happen with the Zen Micro and Micro Photo.
Also, does anyone know if the Micro Photo fits into the Zen Micro Traveldock?

I don't think they will conflict because if you use mediasource, you can have different music libraries etc...
I believe the microphoto fits the traveldock, but don't hold me to it

Help! My zen micro just underwent a sho

hi all! i was happily walking just now when i sort of tripped over a bump (luckily i didn't fall..) and guess what happened? My zen micro went through a shock and it shut down itself 5 times automatically during a song. I have to take out the battery and i don't know...is my player gonna be spoilt because of this incident? i am worried there might be some problem with the hard disk...seriously, it wasn't that much of a shock and many times, i have experienced this kind of player shutting event...so do u people think my player will still be alright? I mean, who doesn't trip now and then? But so far, i haven't drop my player yet....

It's hard to know if any serious damage was sustained, but as the player "reacted" there is some cause for concern. All you can do is wait and see if the player misbehaves in the future.

MediaSource fails to recognise that my Zen Micro is docked

MediaSource has stopped recognising that my Zen Micro is docked - therefore preventing me from viewing and moving tracks between Media Source and my Zen - It has only stopped doing this recently - seemed to coincide with downloading updates for my player - I have uninstlalled and installed both products multiple times and still no joy....
It only happens with my Zen Micro - other music players e.g. MuVo V200 are instantly "picked up" by Mediasource...Any Ideas !!

i have this same problem
i updated my zen to the latest firmware which allowed MTP support version (2.etc), and then tried to find the latest update for Creative MediaSource, i couldnt find any files that updated this software.
Does anyone know if there are any available updates for MediaSource to make it work with the latest firmware? Failing that, does anyone if of any software that can do ratings etc as well as making Zen micro playlists?

Is My Creative Zen Micro Brock

My zen micro used to connect to the computer just fine , i would connect it, it would make a?noise then open the organizer.but now every time it opens it makes an error noise and nothing happens... I've tried to use other connection cables but the same thing happens> Is my Zen micro brocken?

When you plug it in to the computer, what does the screen say? And have you checked that the USB on the computer works?
If you can, get the latest firmware for Mediasource and your player (support>downloads).

The only way to get songs on an iPhone is by synching the songs from your iTunes library, or purchasing them from the iTunes store on your phone.
You can search yourself for sites that offer free music.

It's telling you to connect to ITunes and restore your phone. This will have to be done with a USB cable and iphone connector that came with your charger.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up. You can't use the FIndMyiPhone app on the iPod since the app requires iOS 7
