If the customer does not pay?
Here is hypothetical scenario
A website is created and hosted on BC
The BC partner pays for the annual website hosting fees in full.
The customer pays the BC partner for the first few months, but then fail to pay thereafter.
Can one legally disable the website until further payment is received?
If so, how would one go about disabling a website to not allow any traffic until issue is resolved?
What are your views on this?
If you give them their notice and have your processess that comply with your countries laws then of course you can. You can disable their site for non payment.
Often People will stage it - warnings, disable admin access then full turn the site off if still not paid.
Legal actions and things like that follow of course.
If you get them to pay directly this issue is less of a problem but if your running a markup cost it is good to ensure things are in place.
The thing that I hear hurts the most if compannies parnter with a payment gateway and pay the fees and invoice their clients. If the clients do not pay this can be very wallet damaging for you as a business as it adds up for busy sites.
With those sorts of things getting the client to sort payment gateways and banks themselves with you just advising and grabbing the login details to set up after is more benifical.

I am a SD consultant trying to wear other caps as well. Basically, I was trying to do a GR, using MIGO with ref to a PO ( of type NB, the standard one).
After selecting all the line items ( OK ) by confirming the details populated from the PO, I did a Check and when it said everything is OK I tried to Post the GR.
Then it says " The Customer does not exist in KNA1". It does not say which one.
Can any one help me out?.

The account assignment category is M and in the PO, the Item category field is not maintained, which in turn means "Standard". -

If you were instructed to call them, then that's what you should do. They will probably need to verify your identity before helping you with the security question.

When you mean warranty, where is that updated in the system? In any master data or Z table?
Usual practise is basing on the serial num of the material. From the serial num, users will be able to back track from which sales order this material is initially delivered to the customer. The info is stored in standard tables (for eg EQUI)
One way of doing this is to define a 100% discount condition type in your pricing. Thsi discount will apply only when the customer is in warranty. For this you will need to write a code in teh requirement routine for that condition type in V/08. If warranty is stored in a Z table, then call that Z table & compare it with your sales order. If yes, only then 100% discount will apply & repair cost will be zero. Else, repair charge will be billed to customer.
It depends how your business will monitor repairs. If they raise a service order, then you will need to define a service pricing procedure in which you will include the 100% discount. In this case service order is always referenced with ref to a sales order.

I purchased a program on Mac App store and the program does not act as it should, also was required to pay up front whereas had I went to the web site, ibank 4 I would have had 30 days free trial an would have found that the program does not work.?
Free trials are not available through the Mac App Store.

I am using Veristand 2014, Scan Engine and EtherCat Custom Device. I have not had this error before, but I was trying to deploy my System Definition File (run) to the Target (cRio 9024 with 6 modules) and it failed. It wouldn't even try to communicate with the target. I get the 'connection refused' error.
I created a new Veristand project
I added the Scan Engine and EtherCat custom device.
I changed the IP address and auto-detected my modules
i noticed tat Veristand didn't find one of my modules that was there earlier. (this week)
So, i went to NiMax to make sure software was installed and even reinstalled Scan Engine and Veristand just to make sure.
Now, it finds the module, but when i go to deploy it getsto the last step of deploying the code to the target, and then it fails.
Any thoughts?

Are you using any of the specialty configurations for the 9401 modules? (ex: counter, PWM, quadrature, etc)

It never - ever has. The manufacturer's warranty covers you against faults due to manufacturing. (So if the screen did crack due to a manufacturing defect, Apple warranty would cover it, BUT - Apple would be aware and would be able to identify the cause of a cracked screen due to manufacturing defects, so ...)

How to block a payment in F110, when the system does not allow us to block
Hi all
Blocking of a payment happens in the following areas :
1. In a single document Fb02 transaction we can block a document by giving A as option for not paying for that document before going to F110.
2. We can also block a vendor through Vendor master area
3. We can block a Vendor from paying through Xk05.
Now my doubt is that.... i had saved a proposal in F110, after saving it, now i want to block a payment for a vendor. But the system does not allow me to block it. Why the system does not allow the block. Or is there any type of error like this, that system does not allow the block after setting up the proposal for payment.
Can anyone help me out in this...

Even you set payment block after saving the proposal system will execute that payment. So better you delete this proposal and then set payment block in the vendor line item. Thereafter system will pick that bill for payment.

Best way to announce that the hardware does not meet the minimum requirements
Hi Everybody!!!
I'm in the process of tiding my App up, and I stumbled into a requirement that needs to be addressed. I'm not quite familiar with the latest trends, so I was wondering if anybody could recommend a way to inform the user if the hardware
to use does not meet the minumum requirements.
In a nutshell:
* I just created a game using Direct3D / DirectX 11,
* I'm using "DrawIndexedInstanced", which means that the videocard to use should meet at least DirectX v10 (my shaders are using model 9_3 but I tested it in a computer with DirectX9 model 3 (or so the nvidia brochure said), and the game pretty
much died in my arms).
* According to the App Certification Requirements: "if you choose a minimum feature level higher than 9_1, your app must detect at launch whether or not the current hardware meets the minimum requirements. If not, the app must display a message to
the customer detailing the Direct3D requirements."
* I know how to detect the Direct3D level supported by the current videocard. What I would like to know is how to tell the user that the videocard does not support the minimum requirements.
I don't have much knowledge about the current trends:
* I assume that displaying a message box may not be the best option, as that would mean I need to link the MFC layer to do so (the game is in Visual C++ and that's what I would do if it were one of my day-job projects). I'm quite sure that
is too much of a library just to show a message box... not to mention that most likelly the MFC is no longer supported in a Metro application...
* I was thinking about displaying a nice graphic warning about the issue, but if the D3DDevice1 is not what I expect then I don't think I can be sure that at least it can display the graphic with the information.
* I'm not quite sure if I should be linking to a .NET Library ("System.Windows.Forms" comes to mind), but then again maybe it's too much of a library for just a messagebox.
* Then again, displaying that message in a command prompt may not be the best idea either.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I tried your idea, but the game always crashed when calling the DrawIndexedInstanced() function in a computer that only supported DirectX Level 9.1 (plenty of those computers at my day-job, sometimes I swear this office could be
a museum). The crash started as a driver unload call, and after that everything goes down.
I also tried using the WARP mode, but the performance was horrible, and after a minute of playing I started to have temperature issues with the CPU (I did not see that one coming)
What I finished doing was to create two sets of shaders (pixel and vertex):
* If the feature reported by D3D11CreateDevice was 9_3 or above, I'd use my very own and happy shaders, compiled in 9_3 model. Beautiful performance with DrawIndexedInstanced().
* If on the other hand the feature reported by D3D11CreateDevice was either 9_2 or 9_1, I'd use a set of shaders compiled for level 9_1. That seemed to be enough to draw a couple of images on the screen and tell the user, using my own game elements,
that the computer did not match the hardware requirements.
It looks like this was a good approach. My game passed the certification test, and it is currently on the AppStore.

Configuration: JES Q405. Solaris 10 x86.
My customer initially installed JES (Portal + AM + DS) on the same box.
Now, they have a change in their requirement. They want DS to run dedicatedly in another box.
I have successfully installed a fresh instance of DS in the new box with the same domain name (thus maintaining the same dn). I have copied over 99user.ldif and exported all the data from the original DS in the old box.
Everything is running fine. DS in the new box is able to function properly.
On the Portal and AM side, I have changed the following file:
1. AMConfig.properties
2. serverconfig.xml
3. PSConfig.properties
I have also changed the Primary LDAP entry in iPlanetAMAuthLDAPService, iPlanetAMAuthMembershipService, and iPlanetAMPolicyConfigService.
However, when I started AM (which is running on Sun Web Server), I got the following error message:
