If the stage size is set to 640x480 then...

This may seem like a dumb question, but if I set the stage to
640x480, then shouldn't the testing of the flash piece be displayed
at that size as well? Its almost a different size every time I test
the file (ctrl+enter).
What gives?
Yes I have some clips that are larger in width than the stage
size but should that cause the player to be opened larger than the
specified stage size?
Thanks for the input.

Never heard of this problem before - do you have your prefs
set to display your tested movie in tabs?

  • How to change the stage size in premiere pro cs3?

    Can anyone tell me, how to change the stage size of video in premiere pro cs3?
    Actually my video is cutting(dimensional preview) while rendering...it is not showing full view...so I want full preview of that video after rendering.

    Hi,
    First of all thanks for your quick reply...I tried what you said, but the size is not changing because the area is inactive...

  • Removing a movieclip from the stage after a set amount of time (or once it's finished its animation)

    I've got a movieclip animation which is added to the stage at the start of the .swf.  Its an introduction to the game, and the user is encouraged to click on the movieclip to start the animation.
    Once the animation is finished I'd like the movieclip to be removed from the stage.
    How do I go about doing this?  Do I need to setup some sort of event handler which listens out if the movieclip has finished then start a function once its finished to remove it from the stage?  Which methods look out for movieclips finishing?
    Cheers

    there is no specific event that's called when a movieclip stops playing,
    what you could do is inside your intro movieclip  dispatch an event as soon as the animation is finished
    something like ... dispatchEvent(new Event("introFinished");
    and all you have to do is add and event listener to the intro movieclip intro.addEventListener("introFinished", onIntroFinished);
    when your onIntroFinished is called you can remove the intro from the stage.

  • How can I search the stage for a given Movieclip and then add all instances of it to an Array? AS3

    I would like to Add multible instances of one Movieclip, (Library Name = Bats | instance name = none), inside of another Movieclip (instance name = back.visuals) // (By HAND) NOT by addChild(mc_name); // Easy
    If anyone could help me out with code to do the next steps:
    Search the Movieclip, (instance name = back.visuals), that contains the Movieclips, (Library Name = Bats | instance name = none), manually added to the stage by hand.
    Then for all instances of this movieclip (Library Name = Bats | instance name = none) add them to an Array.
    Thank You,
    Dyami

    I think we are having some missed communication. I do not wish to Change Flash's IDE or deveolp new features for flash. I was wondering if there was a way to do my question with AS3. something along the lines of :
    var enemyList:Array = new Array;
    for (var index:int = 0;index < back.visuals.numChildren;index++)
        var wall:MovieClip = back.visuals.getChildAt(index) as MovieClip;
    /* Check to see if wall is of a Specfic MovieClip */
    /* if (Above is True){ enemyList.push(wall) };

  • Flash CC Brush Tool abruptly stops drawing when stage size is small

    When using the Brush Tool, I'm having an issue that the stroke I'm drawing will abrupty cut off at a certain point on the screen (roughly halfway down the monitor, it doesn't relate to the canvas position or any coordinates).  This seems to happen when I have the Stage size set to a smaller size (64 x 64 pixels for example).  I've been able to reproduce the same behavior on multiple files, and on both a Windows 8.1 machine and a Windows 7 machine, both using the up-to-date version of Flash CC.  Both machines are dual monitor, I'm not sure if that plays a factor in this.
    To reproduce:
    1.  Create a new FLA in Flash CC and set the stage size to 64 x 64 pixels.
    2.  Use the Brush Tool and attempt to draw from the top to the bottom of the screen (zoom level and position on the canvas does not matter, as long as your cursor is going from near the top of your monitor to the bottom of your monitor).
    3.  The stroke will abruptly cut off mid-drawing at a certain point on the screen, roughly half-way down.  You can continue to draw and move upwards and it will reappear when it crosses this barrier again.
    This does not happen if the stage size is set to something larger (640 x 480 for example).  This also does happen in Flash CS5 or CS6, and have only noticed this happening in Flash CC.
    This is happening using the mouse for drawing, and also happened when I tested it on a different PC with a Wacom tablet attached.
    Is this happening for others as well, and is there any fix for this behavior?  (aside from always using a large stage size)

  • I inadvertently pressed CTRL+ another key (possibly V or B or N) and the text size of my bookmarked page was significantly reduced in size. I can't read it. How do I re-set the text size?

    I mistakenly pressed CTRL + another key (possibly V or B or N or whatever), when I was reading my e-mail. The text size shrank to a size that is useless to me, but I cannot seem to get the text size re-set to normal. Indeed all of the formatting on the page has been reduced (symbols, instructions, frames etc). Existing Firefox and returning to the bookmarked page makes no difference. How do I re-set the system?

    Hi,
    Please try '''Ctrl''' + '''0''' (zero). Alternatively '''View''' ('''Alt''' + '''V''') > '''Zoom''' > '''Reset'''.

  • Set stage size?

    Is there a way to have the stage size change during this one
    section that is vertically longer? I'd prefer not to have the html
    scrollbar through the whole site, but I need overflow to show for
    this one page of the Flash website (website is one long timeline
    with labeled frames for each of the pages)
    Thanks to all the smarties!

    in a manner of speaking you are correct jp - you *can* use
    the onResize event of the Stage class to adjust the size of the
    stage to the browser window or table, you *can* also 'scale' the
    content of the stage through publishing and code, on-the-fly
    durring runtime in a similar manner. however that is not what the
    halo's problem relates to, he wants to change the stage only during
    one portion of the site navigation, so unless the entire site was
    built dynamically, and any other page content was present, it would
    be problematic to scale the contents 'all' to the height of the MC
    in question. a better solution for the issue as he describes it is
    to use a scrollpane window, as i'd mentioned.

  • How to set the stack size for alchemy application?

    Anybody know how to set the stack size for alchemy application?
    If you know, please tell me how to adjust the stack size for alchemy application?

    Hi,
    The stack size is set as public const gstackSize in the alchemy generated code.  You can see this if you build with ACHACKS_TMPS set.  The default is one megabyte.
    One way to change the stack size is to use llvm-dis to disassemble avm2-libc/lib/avm2-libc.l.bc, generating avm2-libc.l.ll, modify the constant, and then use llvm-as to recompile your modified library and overwrite the old one.  These utilities should be in your path if alchemy is set up.

  • I'm trying to print envelopes by using Pages merge.  It continues to read it as a 8.5X11 sheet even though I have set the page size to 6.5X4.75

    I've merged names and addresses to be printed in Pages.  The page size is set to 6.5 x 4.75 but the printer keeps trying to print as if it is an 8.5 x 11 sheet. Any ideas where I'm missing a setting?  I've been merging things for 25 years and I've never had this problem.

    Hi fruhulda!
    Thank you so much!  I called the printer company and finally got the problem solved.  This printer must print with the long side oriented as the pass through.  The envelope I was using had been oriented to have the short side pass through.  It doesn't really seem logic that the printer cannot print the sizes entered but when I changed the orientation in Page Set Up it worked.
    Had I check this would have certainly helped.

  • Why does Edge increase the size of the stage when I insert .oam via Dreamweaver?

    I am creating a slider for a site's Home Page, and specified a Stage size of 960 x 255 pixels in my Edge Animate document. When I inserted the .oam file from Dreamweaver (Insert > Media), the dimensions grew to 980 x 275 pixels. Manually correcting the dimensions does not correct the problem. The width remains wider, and a gap exists between the bottom edge of my animate object and the border graphic that overlays the object.
    How do I correctly specify the stage size so it remains at the size I specify once I insert the .oam file in my page?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Edit stage size without effecting elements position.

    Question.  Can you change the size of your stage, say smaller than what you started with, so that when you move your elements to the new position of the stage the motion paths do get messed up because you moved everything?
    I have a "full" page layout that I would like to cut in half but the stage jumps to a "middle" point and when I try to move all my elements, some with motion paths, it increases the distance of the path and destroys it.  I don't see any way of locking the paths to move an element and I have 23 elements with paths to move so moving each would suck.
    I know Edge is basically in Beta 24, 7 because it's still not flushed out anywhere near where it could be.  If they just allowed you to adjust the stage size by locking a region kinda like page size in Photoshop or adjusting the page like in Illustrator with cropping.
    Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

    Hi Colin,
    Thanks for the fast reply.
    I guess I checked fullscreen when creating the project, however, when setting fullScreen to false (and uncommenting the still commented node?!) in de descriptor file I get the following compile error:
    Error occurred while packaging the application:
    /private/var/folders/gv/gv-j1H1UFJ4olvFpGwVTVk+++TI/-Tmp-/AOT1309729499262/Box2DiPad-app.x ml(109): error 103: application.initialWindow.fullScreen is an unexpected element/attribute
    User error somewhat or bug?
    ... Rats! In case anyone messes up like me: The fullscreen node gets rewritten all the way at the bottom of the initialWindow section. So it needs to be changed there....
    Is there anyone who can shed some light on AIR 2.7 update progress?
    Thanks,

  • How to centre the stage of 100% width in a browser?

    I have created a web page in Edge that I intend to be centred in the web browser. If I keep the stage to fixed width (960 px) then I can centre it in the browser with the following in the compositionReady event of the Stage:
    $("#Stage").css("margin","auto");
    However, I want to create a tiled background, for which I use the following in the compositionReady event of the Stage:
    $("#Stage").css("background-image","url(images/[email protected])","background-repeat","re peat");
    If I keep the stage to fixed width then I don't see the tiled background because the stage is full of objects and the tiled background doesn't extend past 0 and 960px. If I make the stage width 100% then everything becomes left-aligned, but I do see the tiled background (to the right of the stage objects).
    I've tried thinking of clever ways to position everything relative to some transparent element that has its width property set to 100%, but to no avail.
    Does anyone know of a way to ensure that everything positions relative to the centre of the stage while retaining the 100% width stage property?

    Zaixist posted this a long time ago and you might want to try it:
    $("body").css({
                "background-image":"url(images/yourBghere.jpg)",
                "background-position":"center center fixed",
                "background-repeat":"repeat",
                "-webkit-background-size":"cover",
                "-moz-background-size":"cover",
                "-o-background-size":"cover",
                "background-size":"cover"
    $("#Stage").css({"margin":"0 auto"})
    jQuery.fn.center = function(){
    this.css("position","absolute");
    this.css("top","50%");
    this.css("left","50%");
    this.css("margin-top","-"+(this.height()/2)+"px");
    this.css("margin-left","-"+(this.width()/2)+"px");
    return this;}
    sym.$(".center").center();

  • My SWF is not the same size as my Flash document size

    My SWF is not the same size as my Flash document size. How can I get it to be the same.
    Thanks

    I spent a little time trying to figure out if there's some setting anywhere that might explain this, but couldn't find anything.  That doesn't mean there isn't any--I just don't know of any.
    I'm wondering if you could take a screen shot that shows the stage size versus the swf size when it plays?  It will help to make sure the problem is what I think you have it explained it to be.
    Does this happen in all files you create or is it occuring just in one particular file?  What version of Flash are you using?  If you can make your file available maybe someone can see if the problem remains when they open it--possibly even track down some cause.  I am unable to open CS4 files (don't have it), but if it's an earlier version I can take a look.
    If you are using CS4, have you updated it to the latest release (10.0.2, I believe)?  There were numerous bugs when CS4 was released, though I don't know if this would be one of them.

  • The problem about the Stage's minWidth or minHeight property.

    From the JavaFX 2.2 api, I see the minWidth or minHeight property, and then I attempt to use them to limit the contraction of stage when dragging. But it takes no effect. Are there some implications for using these properties?
    I have finally to write some codes in the dragging listener of the stage to set manually width or height of the stage to achieve the minWidth or minHeight effect.

  • Items off the stage are showing up in the browser. How do I stop this?

    When learning Flash, I was taught in the beginning that only items that appear on the stage actually show up in the final animation.  Clearly, these people were wrong.  I thought it would be easy to have some text move in from off the right side of the stage to the middle, but the text still shows up even before it enters the stage in the browser.  I have tried to change this using various publishing options, HTML, and CSS, with no luck.  I did have to resize the stage, and I'm not sure if that means anything.  Can someone help me figure this out? Thank you.

    Here are a few things I noticed:
    No DOCTYPE for the page:
    http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_doctype.asp
    then validate the code here:
    http://validator.w3.org/
    Next, your main container is 1000px wide (as per your CSS) but in your IE conditional you are placing a 1500 px wide .swf inside.
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="1500" height="217.....
    so for course that won't work. In IE that results in a bottom scroll bar no matter how wide a monitor... it's never wide enough to display without scrollbar
    FF is different because:
    <!--[if !IE]>-->
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="topbanner.swf" width="713" height="155">
    You're using smaller dimensions....so set them both the same.
    If your main container is 1000px wide, then the stage size of your .swf should be 1000px, not 1500, not 713. Then set the width/height of the <div> holding your .swf to the exact same size as the .swf. That should eliminate any off stage stuff from showing.
    Best of luck!
