No, I don't believe you can, you can however restore it after the wipe from your iCloud back up.

Try a different camera app.  Camera Plus is a good one and there are many others.

My PC hard drive crashed and I was wondering if there was any way to recover the tunes I had purchased.

It has always beenv ery basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just this reason.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can redownload some purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • If there was a way to disable the plugin check completely, would this website be the right place to get an honest answer?

Most answers tell me how to update firefox or how to fix it, how to make the plugin check work or tell me some workarounds. That´s why i think Mozilla has no interest to let the people disable the plugin check, because it got implemented for a reason.
But the whole thing is not about computer science. It is about psychology, respect and the free will of the people.
At first i get annoyed by this plugin check, then i want my revenge. I want to disable the plugin check! I do not want to make the plugin check work. I do not want to install a new version of firefox. I do not want to update my firefox and i do not want to fix my firefox. In fact i want a (virtual) sledge hammer to destroy my firefox - just a little bit regarding the plugin check.
But one feels treated like a child, that has to be protected from it´s own decisions.
That´s when i feel annoyed the second time around.
So, if mozilla doesn´t grant me the choice to disable the plugin check at will, i am only free to decide which browser i´m going to use.

I´d like to apologise if you felt offended by my question. That was not my intention. Within my explanation i tried to describe the feelings of an unexperienced user like my father (77 years old). Because i felt the answers given so far were evasive. Everybody recommended to update or fix firefox respectively the plugin check, but no one seemed to answer the question if one can disable the plugin check completetly.
I just wanted to know if there is some kind of censorship that blends out answers inconvenient to mozilla. Thank you!

  • Is there any way to stop a remote wipe on iPhone 4 via iCloud?

I lost my phone and thought it was stolen so i put a wipe on it, however it was offline so it is still pending. I just recently found my phone so i was wondering if there was a way to stop the pending wipe? THANKS FOR ANY COMMENTS!!

I need an answer to this question also. My i phone was stolen. I panicked and did the wipe option. Now I regret it because there is no way to track my phone now. I hope someone finds a way to undo the wipe.

  • A way to stop the Freezes in some PowerBooks.

Hi ,There is a way to stop the freezes in some PowerBooks, including mine.
Some of us have been turning off the processor nap function, Im not sure of what exactly are the pros and cons of using this way to stop freezes, but at least will give a clue in finding the cause of this problem.
To turn off this option, you have to get the developers CHUD tools, that are incuded in your xcode files or download them from apple in this page
    http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/
Once you download it and install it, restart , then go to prefernces panels, in the HARDWARE panels there will be a new pane, called PROCESSOR, open it and there you will see the option to turn off NAP...uncheck it and you are done. To make it more accesible choose the option in the bottom to Show control in menu bar. Everytime you restart the computer you will have to go and uncheck this NAP option. Some other guys have done startup scripts to make it automaticaly, but I prefer to spend a couple of seconds in doing it.
Here is another link to a thread I posted before when freezes started in my new PB, It may help you in findig the way.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2093998#2093998
I still have to understand more about NAP function, learn the risks, pros and cons...so if you have the same problem and decided to try this option, post your results, your PB model and any other suggestion that will help to find out whats causing this.
Any suggestions, comments, knowledge about this will be appreciated.Thanks.
My Powerbook is a HR 15 in PBook at 1.67ghz, 1.5gb Ram
I have 4 days with out a freeze since I turned nap off.

Here is a link to a description of power saving modes in PowerBooks, I have already seen some posts on this but I just wanted to make sure by reading this from apple.
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Hardware/DeveloperNotes/Macintosh_CPUs-G4/PowerBook_G4Apr02/1Introduction/Power_SavingFeatures.html
As far as I understand, NAP on will help you to save energy and to keep the processor cooler.
When the computer is idle for a few seconds, then Processor Nap turns on...perhaps some how our PBooks have some problems by taking a NAP and coming back. Still have to read.
The only thing that will jump here is the tempreature issue.
I have also seen in some posts that NAP OFF increases the PB temperature, so keeping the computer cool should help to prevent overheating, Im planing to start some tests in monitoring the temps and see how much heat generates while Nap is Off.
Any other ideas, info or advice will be welcomed.

  • Is there a way to stop the launching applications to come to foreground?

Is there a way to stop the launching applications to come to foreground?
Back with os 10.3 Panther or 10.4 Tiger the apps opened in the background. That was one of the good differences with Windows. I guess that 10.5 Leopard adopted this annoying Windows behavior. Hope it's gonna change with 10.7 Lion.
(Of course I am looking for another solution than the AppleScript/Terminal launch that can be found on Google. I'd rather have a plist option to change if it exists!)

I have found this page http://www.realsoftware.com/listarchives/realbasic-nug/2009-03/msg01167.html where it is proposed to add :
    <key>LSBackgroundOnly</key>
    <string>True</string>
    to MyApp.app/Contents/Info.plist
I tried this but the app launches totally hidden in the background. Plus you have to set this behavior for every app.
The open -g option works fine as expected.
Still looking for a system-wide option, but it doesn't seem to exist.
About the utility of such an option, I'll just remember you that some machine don't load apps very fast and, instead of waiting for an app to launch, the user will do something else until the app launches. You'll understand that waiting in front of a computer isn't acceptable and having a MBPro isn't possible for everyone.

  • Is there a way of stopping the battery from charging?

    Dear Apple Community,
Recently I installed iStat Menus and found that, over the course of this year, my Macbook's charging capacity has dropped 5%. I know this isn't a massive number, but battery performance has become a concern for me. I use my Macbook as a desktop replacement, on the main. It's sitting on a mStand, connected to a large monitor on my desk. I use my Macbook to play games, surf the internet, do work and all that good stuff - basically, I use it for everything. I rarely use the Macbook without it being plugged in. I read on the Apple website that they do not recommend leaving the Macbook on charge permanently and that I should use it on battery at least one a month. As I use my Macbook as a desktop replacement, I don't actually have a lot of opportunity to do this.
My question to you, the community, is: is there a way of stopping the battery from charging, either with the use of an app or a physical device? Ideally, I would love to have my power plugged in BUT only used when the battery drops below 10%. Is this possible with an app?
On the other hand, am I just worrying about nothing? Will my battery be damaged further if I leave the Macbook charging permanently?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jeremy Reid

Ideally, I would love to have my power plugged in BUT only used when the battery drops below 10%. Is this possible with an app?
The charging characteristics are handled in firmware.  There is no app that would be able to do this.  You actually would not want to do this anyway.  Regularly discharging your battery to 10% will greatly decrease the life of your battery.  While it is true that you should not use your system exclusively plugged in, allowing it to run on battery a few hours a week should be fine.  Letting the battery regularly run down to (or below) 10% will cause you to use up cycles more quickly than is necessary (thereby reducing the life of your battery).  It's really a only a matter of disconnecting your Magsafe connector once in a while.
Leaving it plugged in does not result in it being charged "permanently".  It will charge until it is full and then charging will stop.  It will only begin recharging when it reaches about 95%.

  • How do I limit the number of emails that show in my active mailbox?  There was a way in Settings on ios 6, but i can't find it in ios 7.

How do I limit the number of emails that show in my active mailbox?  There was a way in Settings on ios 6, but i can't find it in ios 7.

You need to delete your current hotmail account set up on your iphone.
Once this has done click 'Add Account' and select the new 'outlook.com' tab.
Set up your hotmail account again from scratch and this will then allow you to select how many weeks/months of emails you sync to your phone.
Im not sure if anyone else had a similar problem to me prior to iOS 7, but if i deleted an email from my hotmail account on my iphone - it wouldnt sync with my actual hotmail account. So when i logged in online all the emails I had deleted on my phone would still be showing as unread.
But by setting the account up as above, they now sync perfectly.
    Well for me anyway

  • Is there a way to stop the OS from switching to a newly opened app?  I would like to be able to continue what I'm doing while I wait for an app to launch and not get interrupted by a forced entry into the app.

Is there a way to stop the OS from switching to a newly opened app?  I would like to be able to continue what I'm doing while I wait for an app to launch and not get interrupted by a forced entry into the app.
As an example, I'm going to my email in safari, while I wait for it to load, I open an excel document, and the OS decides excel should be the front app, so I go back to safari so I can enter my login info, but halfway through my password the OS decides that excel is where I should finish typing my password.
VERY ANNOYING.  Can I open apps in the background?

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. J D, I'm not a terminal fan, but I'm sure it works.  I found a solution that I can use in the dock from another post.

Install ClamXav and run a scan with that. It should pick up any trojans.

Hi all.  Is there a way to stop the mail icon from bouncing on the dock when a new message is received?  It's irritating.  I'm running Lion.  Thanks.

Thank you Linc.  I knew that I did something in system preferences to cause it to bounce, but couldn't remember what I did.  I appreciate your help!  Kelly

  • Is there any way to stop the print screen from dropping down on top of the page to be printed.  Can the print screen be moved?

Is there a way to stop the print screen from dropping down on top of the page to be printed.  Can the print screen be moved?  When the print screen drops down, it covers the page and the info needed to create the file.  Thank you

You will find that this is application dependent.  Most Apple applications such as Safari and Mail will use the "sheet" type of dialog boxes that you are referring.  There is no way for the user to change that behavior.  Other, non-Apple, applications like Firefox use a "modal" dialog box for printing etc.  The modal boxes can be moved around so you can see the page behind.

  • Is there aoss on an airport extreme? I thought there was some way via the Airport Utility?

is there aoss on an airport extreme? I thought there was some way via the Airport Utility.

Nothing called "aoss" is on an AirPort Extreme.
Using the Add Wireless Clients feature under the Base Station menu (top of screen) in AirPort Utility - Manual Setup, there are provisions to add a new wireless client using a PIN or allowing the device to connect on "First Attempt".
Whether this is compatible with "aoss", I cannot say. Please let us know about your findings if you try this.
