If unlocked iPhone 5 comes with a nano-sim... can we link it to other providers?
If we can buy unlocked iPhone 5's that comes with a "default" nano sim...
If we live in another country that does not have a provider that provides nano sims; can't that foreign provider just link the iPhone 5's "default" nano sim to the person's account on their network? That way we would be able to use an iPhone 5 in a country on a provider that doesn't "support" iPhone 5.
I'm not sure how "linking" SIM cards work with providers... so is this actually possible?
If you buy an unlocked iphone it does come with a default "Blank" sim card. You will need to register the IMEI number or MEID with carrier to activate and start functioning. Settings>General>About lists it.

They've created a new SIM for this phone--the micro-SIM. Different SIM tray and all. If you ordered from Apple.com selecting the carrier was step two of the process.
iPhone 5 confirmed to use nano-SIM, current SIMs not compatible.
The "Micro SIM" is too large to fit in the iPhone 5. -
I am thinking of pre-ordering the iPhone 5 but does it come with a nano sim card? If not does any body know where I could get one on pay as you go?
If you get the phone from a carrier it will come with a nano SIM. If you order direct from Apple you will need to get a sim from the carrier.

I will studying in the UK for the next year and want to know if an unlocked iPhone 4S with a new sim card purchased in the UK will work as opposed to getting a new phone? There seem to be differeing opinions on this.
Iphone 4s only has one version so it should work world wide in any carrier..As long as it's and unlocked version ofcourse.

Does the iPhone 5 come with a nano sim card for canadian carriers?
If you pre-order the iPhone 5, does the box include the nano sim card?
If you buy an iPhone that is locked to one of the carriers, then yes, it will come with the appropriate SIM. If you buy an unlocked iPhone, you will have to get a SIM from the carrier.

Nano sim from iPhone interchangeable with new nano sims in Moto X and new Droids?
>> Duplicate post removed to comply with Verizon Wireless Terms of Service. See iPhone 5 nano sim can be used in Moto X- interchangeable? <<
Message was edited by: Verizon ModeratorThank you!! I knew they were the same size, but I just called again to a different rep who said the same thing- they are not interchangeable (she said flat out that if I put the nano sim from my iPhone 5s into the Moto X it will not work or be able to activate)... She couldn't explain exactly why except that "Apple" nano sims are singular and don't work in other devices.
I hope you are right and wouldn't mind the voicemail thing as long as I could interchange them easily :)
Thanks again! I am wondering if anyone has tried it? -

I was planning on buying a 32GB unlocked iPhone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans?
Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iPhone?
Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally?
Thank you in advance!Yes. The T-Mobile nanoSIM which came with the full price, unlocked iPhone 5 will work for a prepaid plan. However, neither Apple retail store employees nor the T-Mobile customer svc reps know this. It was quite an ordeal to activate. I had to order the prepaid activation kit online, wait for its arrival by snail mail, then use the activation code from the kit with the nanoSIM to activate the prepaid monthly plan $30/mon for 100 min+ unlim text + 5 GB 4G/LTE. I live in Pasadena, CA, and the 4G and LTE coverage here is extensive and reliable.
I tossed the SIM which came with the activation kit.
My local T-Mobile retail store wouldn't sell me a prepaid activation kit when I told them that I wanted the web-only $30/mon plan. The customer svc reps couldn't or wouldn't give me an activation code to use either. -
I'm interested in iPhone 5s Unlocked and contract-free T-Mobile. It will work in Russia, with Russian nano-SIM card GSM?
Depends on what you mean by "fully operational". As i"ve stated, the phone most likely will not support LTE where you live, & unless you're using a supported iPhone carrier, you'll have to fiddle with the APN settings.
But, an unlocked GSM iPhone will work with any GSM carrier. -
I am going to japan with an Ipod nano and Iphone 4. Do I need a converter? or does the one the iphone comes with that plugs into the wall enough? I know i wont need an adapter because it will fit into the wall outlet, but voltage wise, will i need a converter? Japan runs on 100 V. I am so confused on all of this...
As long as the adapter is 2 pronged, then you should be able to use it without any problems.

help! techo phobe online. I have an unlocked iphone 3 with an unlocked sim. i have plugged the phone into the computer to set up itunes, but it just says on the phone screen "connect to itunes" nothing else is happening/
Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement. -
If I travel outside the US with an unlocked iphone and use a local SIM will I still receive iMessages sent to my US number when wifi is activated?
Ok, one of my problems is that when I arrive it will take me a few weeks to get a social security number and only t-mobile will give me a sim without a ssn - but edge for a few weeks will be better than no iPhone.
Unless someone out there can suggest an alternative? -
I have a factory unlock iphone 5 with the lasted version. Since yesterday my sim card stopped working and now says `No Sim`, was working fine and stopped working now, other sim works but just not mine. ¿What can be happening?
I thought that, but I put the sim card in another device that is not Apple and works. Definitely the sim card work, but no longer in my iPhone 5 or maybe in any other Apple device, i dont know why!! But i gonna get a replacement to see what happen
