You can buy whatever ipod you want.
Damage is not covered by warranty so they will not replace it under warranty.
All of your music/apps should be in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
Just sync it to the new ipod.

Was any error message given? They usually are.
Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -

Hi, if this is in regards to your library simply open up itunes and do the following steps:
Click File
Scroll down to "show duplicates"
A list will then appear of your duplicate song titles.
Be sure to CAREFULLY review each song to make sure it is a duplicate ( as I have some music that is the same song but live, acoustic etc...)
Proceed to manually delete each song from the list and leave alone any song that you wish to keep.

Just for clarification, the apps themselves, music and photos synced to the iPod have to be on your computer to be preent on your iPod after restoring from backup. The backup does not contain those items, then are always synced from the computer,

how do I gewt it all back?yes to everything; you can add a line (up to 5 total for Family Share), drop a line, upgrade a basic line to a smartphone (and then add a tiered data plan) and stay on your current calling plan ... it may be easier done in your local Corporate Verizon store, though ... just be sure they don't try to switch you to Share Everything if that's not what you want

If you update on your syncing computer and all synced media like app, music and synced photos are in yur itunes library/on the computer, you will not lose them nor ose apps date. The backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the update includes app dat and some other things but does not include synced media.
