Is your iPhone still usable as if it were an iPod Touch? If you shut off the iPhone with AT&T, will it still be functional as an iPod, internet browser, email, etc. like the iPod Touch is?
I'm thinking about canceling my service with AT&T, but would like to keep my phone and still use it as an iPod.
In order to install a firmware update on a no longer activated iPhone, or restore a no longer activated iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed, you must have the no longer activated SIM card inserted in the iPhone - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when the iPhone was activated.

What happens when you cancel your phone plan?
My contract through at&t is up in June, and I was just wondering if anybody knew what happens if I cancel my phone plan. Does my phone just work like an ipod touch, or... what? I heard a rumor that it did, but it was more speculation than fact.
I don't know if this is true for AT&T - but on Verizon, when I went to a Palm Centro from a Samsung regular not-too-smart phone, I still could use the Samsung as an alarm clock and a stopwatch. I just have to keep it on standalone mode (off the network) except twice a year, when I turn off standalone mode briefly to get the right time from the network during the change to and from daylight savings. The phone company has never complained. I can still access my old address book on the old Samsung any time.
When I get an iPhone, I'll keep the Centro in case anything horrible happens to the iPhone... and also to use some things on the Centro such as alarm programs and all-important games. Hopefully I can do the same as I do with the Samsung, and just connect it to the network as needed to reset the time. You'll have to look at your iPhone to see if they have something like standalone mode and hope that you can do the same. On the Centro, I think all I have to do is turn off the phone portion -- it does that spontaneously once every few months, anyway... There has to be a way to disconnect the phone from the network, since some places require you to do this to avoid interfering with their equipment (e.g., hospitals, airplanes). -

Can you update your iPhone with firmware V 4.2.1 to v5. If so, How. I just tried and it did nothing bu mess things up.

How can you keep your iPhone 4 (using it as my car's iPod) staying on the Audible app? When I leave the car and return to continue hearing a book, it has switched to iTunes.
The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone. -
While updating my iphone 4s to ios6, I had to restore it. Now every time I connect to itunes, I get the "Set Up Your iPhone" window with the set up as new iphone and restore from backup options. After the restore, I got everything except my apps and music back. Do I need to set the phone up as new again?

Plug it in and sync it.
It will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer, as is the design of the iphone.
Use your backup copy of your home computer to put everything on the new computer. -

Apple will not repair any iOS devices in the US. If you take it to an Apple store genius bar you can get an out-of-warranty replacement of the iPhone 4s for $199 in the US.

Once you dropped your iPhone (no damage), will the quality of new photos that will be captured be affected once you took a new ones? Can someone give advise? Just wondering if that would affect my iPhone. I dropped it once without case. I'm using an iPhone 5s.

ZaldyNot quite clear about the question. Does the camera take pictures in lower quality after you dropped the phone than before? In that case the camera might be damaged and your phone needs to be serviced:

Some more things to try before that:
Camera
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Since the Forms Central Service is being discontinued in July, I have cancelled my Subscription because I needed to find a new service. Did not want to start something and then have half my data on Forms Central and the remainder on the new service.
I am being billed for an early termination fee (even though this service will no longer be offered) and for the prorated monthy charge for March.
Is there a final Invoice that is sent for these charges?
I have to reconcile my expense report for these charges with my Corporate Credit Card statement.
This service was cancelled around March 6th, 2015.

How do you restore your iPhone without deleting all your apps?
Ok so I'm trying to remove Cydia from my iPhone 4, and I wanted to make sure it's fully removed. I managed to delete the app straight from my iPhone by force deleting the Cydia Installer package, and the icon is totally gone my iPhone. I deleted it because the jailbreak is eating up my battery. However, I don't think the jailbreak is completely removed.
Question: How do you restore your iPhone from iTunes without deleting all your apps and everything from your iPhone? Like when I click restore it says it will delete it and you will have to repurchase your apps. I have tons of apps and I don't want to spend my money for the same thing twice! I want to know how (step-by-step) to back up and restore your iPhone without it messing with any of the photos, apps, etc.
Also, will updating your firmware to 4.1 wipe out the jailbreak?

If you bought the apps via iTunes, they will be on your computer. If you bought them with the iPhone, syncing would have transferred them. Look for them in:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Mobile Applications
Photos taken with the iPhone are transferred via iPhoto or Image Capture when the phone is connected to the computer. Other photos on the phone must have been synched from the computer, so should still be there.

my computer couldn't detect ipod classic 30gb(windows vista), it just stop responding. However, when i plug in my iphone, it works. my ipod classic works on other computers though(vista and xp) I wonder what cause this problem anyone have any idea???
