If you change your Apple id, do you lose your apps?

Would somebody please answer mé?

If you simply change the e-mail address associated with your itunes account, then you lose nothing.

  • If i change my Apple ID, will i lose my apps? Will i have to redownload all of them? Will i lose all my pictures, notes, etc.?

I was wanting to change my Apple ID, because some of my apps were not responding. Do you think that if i changed the ID that i would get those apps back? Or is there another solution?

Apps are forever tied to the AppleID that purchased them.  Non-responsive apps have absoultely nothing to do with the AppleID.
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

  • What are the implications of changing your Apple id when you own multiple devices?

    Hi There,
I would like to change my regular email service provider and instead use only my new gmail address. My apple id is the same as my regular soon to be replaced email address. I understand that in the past you could not change your apple id but you could change the email address associated with the apple id. However now it seems that you can change your apple id and by this I dont mean getting a new one, I simply mean editing the old one and infact Apple encourages people to make sure that their Apple id and email address are the same. So, my questions is considering the fact that I own multiple Apple devices (iPhone, iMac and iPad), what will the implications be of doing this and what do I need to consider before I change my Apple id to my new Gmail address? I know for example that apps are apparently permanently associated with a single Apple id so I guess I will have to redownload and pay for them. But what do I need to do on my iPhone, iMac and iPad to make sure that iMessage, iCloud etc is unaffected and continue to work properly. I guess for a start I need to tell everyone who communicates with me via iMessage that they have to use a new Apple id for example. I am worried that a change like this will cause mayhem among my devices and I'll regret it. Right now I have kept my old Apple id and simply added an alternate email address to my account that being my new Gmail address. Maybe its simpler to keep it this way. Thanks in advance for the words of wisdom. Cheers.

How do you change your apple id and password on your iphone?

To change your Apple ID go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with the ID you want to use.  To change the password go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click on Manage you account to the right, sign in, click on Password and Security on the left, the Change Password on the right.  If you change your password you will need to sign out on your phone, then sign back in using the new password.

  • HT1911 How do you change the email address associated with forgetting your security answers

Trying purcahse a song on iTunes and have been prompted to answer security questions.  Since I do not remember setting up these security questions, I do not remember the answers.
I can click a link that will send instructions to resetting the security questions, but the email address associated with this link is no longer active.  How do I change this email address?

    Just where are you going?
and what do you see? A screen shot with personal info redacted would be great.
I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

  • How do you change the Apple ID associated with an iOS device?

So…I made the mistake of putting the wrong Apple ID (I have three – don't ask) on my iOS devices. If I try to change the Apple ID on my Mac, it wants to erase everything that I have on my Mac that is also stored on the iCloud. That is not a good solution. So, I want to change the Apple ID associated with my iOS devices (far less to lose there). The problem is that niether of my iOS devices will let me change the Apple ID associated with them – at least not that I can find.
Does anyone know how to do that so I can get my Mac on the same page with my iPhone/iPad?
    Thanks.

This is the kind of question where it helps to know what you are trying to achieve since the way you phrased the question has several interpretations.  CarolynSamit gave you one, here's another two:
Apple ID Support - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/  -> Apple ID FAQ http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37
"How do I change my Apple ID Name or personal information?
You can change your Apple ID Name at My Apple ID. Select your country and language, enter your desired changes, then click the Continue button. Changes take effect immediately. You can also use My Apple ID to change your personal information, such as your mailing address or email address. See How to change the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information."
How to change the name you use for your Apple ID - http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40
Another answer is you cannot.  Items purchased with one AppleID cannot be transferred to a different account.

  • How do you change the apple id on an iphone

I linked my father's iphone to my computer, and now when he goes to buy apps its all linked to my apple id.  Does anyone know how to change the apple id so its not linked to me anymore?

You can use this article to view instrcutions on how to change personal information on an Apple ID; but you'd probably be better off keeping your Apple ID and logging your father off your account from his iPhone and then creating a new one for him.
How to change the name you use for your Apple ID.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40
Or... I suppose you can change all the information and you can create a new Apple ID, either way though he won't be able to access the Apps he bought on your ID if he get's a new one. Or your father keeps your Apple ID and you create a new one, you won't be able to purchase any thing you had previously bought on that original Apple ID.

How do you change the Apple ID for my iPhone 4. I am able to access my iTunes account using my new ID and password on my computer; however, my iphone has a different Apple ID and I do not have cannot access iTunes on this phone.

Also, if you have iCloud, you will probably also want to change the iCloud account on the phone to be yours:
Settings>iCloud - if Account is not yours, go to the bottom and Delete Account. Then sign back on with your iCloud account info.

You could adjust the mailnews.tcptimeout preference, as explained in the 2nd point in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Can_not_send_large_attachments this article]. Also, make sure there's no security program scanning outgoing mail attachments.

Can you turn off apple tv and just watch your regular tv?

I have an LG TV - I am still trying to work thru all this but on mine, I select TV on the TV remote and it takes me back to cable. Then when I want to return to Apple TV, I select INPUT on the remote and then HDMI. Took me right back to Apple TV.
(But I had already configured the TV for an external HDMI device during set up.)

  • How do you change the slide background colour in the keynote app?

How do you change the slide background colour in the keynote app?

You can't (not in Keynote for iOS). The background color is a function of the template selected when you create the file initially and cannot be altered. the only workaround I know of is to add a graphic file to the slide and position it behind all other content, but this would need to be repeated on any slide you wish to "recolor".

  • Can I change my Apple ID and still keep the apps and stuff I have associated with that the old ID?

My friends can't FaceTime me because they are used to my old email address. I made a new Apple ID, but then I am worried if I change it now, the apps, videos, music, newsstands, and Game Center data will be erased. Can I change my apple ID with preventing this?

Yes you can change your Apple ID. Log into your account and change your email associated with the account. You however cannot create a new account and transfer the media.

  • Your Apple TV is connected to your wi fi network but cannot connect to the internet.  Airplay logo not available on ipad3, iPod touch3g and showing intermittently in iTunes on windows laptop.  Switched ISP a few days ago.  Entered pass key info on all.

I switched ISP a few days ago and had problems with airplay since.  After restarting and reinstalling and updating, re entering pass keys for new wi fi on everything,  Apple TV shows:  Your Apple TV is connected to your wi fi network but cannot connect to the Internet.  Ipad3 and iPod touch 3G have no airplay icon or get one briefly then it disappears again.  Same with itunes on windows laptop.
    Can anyone help?
    Bob

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • I want to know if we can change our Apple ID without losing all our apps and informations?

    Hi,
I wanted know if we can change our Apple ID without losing all our apps and information?  We've been having problems with our current emails, and we want to change to a different email address.  However, we've been hearing that everything associated with our emails now can be deleted.. We don't know if that's true or not?  Thank You

    Hi Elizan,
Just to make sure you are aware - it is REALLY important to delete the iCloud account on your devices and computers before you change your ID! As the article that picas provided, you should also sign out of Messages, Facetime, etc. but the iCloud one is the one that will cause you real grief if you don't delete it before the change.
Just wanted to let you know!
    Cheers,
