If you had to pick one RSS feed for Mac news...

Avoid suggestions of using Yahoo! Pipes to create a mashup of dozens of feeds...I am trying to find one that provides the most thorough, most complete mac news, reviews, etc...without requiring that I read 500+ items each day...
What would your pick be, if you could only pick one?

I'd pick Macworld. After all, it has one of the most complete news coverage of Apple.

  • Rss Feeds for Apple news

Hey, how can I get a Rss Feeds for all the Apple news, not only for the forum discussions?

  • In support forum, signed in,where do I link to questions I've asked? Years back, could get RSS feed for question. Still available?

Where can I link to my questions from my account? Searching for username gives no results. Some years back, you could subscribe to an RSS feed for a question, yours or others. Is that gone, if so, why? How do you save the question, without saving the text of your question in a document, and copying and pasting it into search? FF version 19.0.2.
    Thanks.

The My Contributions link only appears if you are looking at a page of questions people have posted. It's a filter that doesn't apply to other pages, so I guess it's bit of a secret.

    Hi Kenneth,
RSS feeds for home pages are on the unfortunately long list of improvements. It is high up there.
But if you don't want to miss any materials, then you should check out DevToday, which you find under Services.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/devnews.sdn?node=linkn2
It shows only the new stuff that came in within the last I think it is 30 days. You can tailor it to your information interests by rating these objects. You can even create a daily or weekly email from it.
Gone is the fear of missing good information, Mark.
P.S. If now only that DevToday page had an RSS feed
P.P.S. Of course it only works if you are logged in, which by the way everyone using SDN should be.

  • I'd like a search keyword-based RSS Feed for iOS apps. Possible?

It's great that Apple offers a variety of RSS feeds for the iTunes store. I'd like to be able to further hone the feed to particular search-based keywords. For example, limit the top paid apps to just those about dogs or some other long-tail (I did NOT mean that as a pun :-) ) keyword term. Is this possible?
Alternatively, if one could convert Apple JSON-based searches into an RSS feed, that would do the trick, too. An example JSON feed:
    http://itunes.apple.com/search?term=dog&entity=iPadSoftware&limit=200

  • RSS FEED FOR CISCO PRODUCT LAUNCHES

Get notified as soon as we launch new Cisco products.
    See It in Action
What do you think about the RSS Feeds for Cisco products launches concept? Is it useful? Are there places on Cisco.com where you would like to see it? Do you think the idea should evolve into something different? Do you think this pilot should be dropped? Discuss it now.

I use it (just found it recently) and I like it. I would love to see one just for IOS features. It's nearly impossible to keep up on new IOS features (ie zone based firewalling) and I believe RSS would be a great help to us that use and sell Cisco products.

  • When i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

when i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

Well, I can't see any problem with the feed, and the episode media file is correctly referenced and plays. Incidentally you do have a 'copyright' tag - it says 'Wippenberg'.
When a podcast feed is rejected, corrected and resubmitted there is a minor bug in the Store which causes you to be told that the podcast has already been submitted (which is true but irrelevant - it's really meant to prevent duplicates). To get round this you need to make a small change to the title - for example you could add a hyphen and space before 'Podcast'. You can always change it back once it's been accepted.
The other issue might be the content. The reason given for rejection tends to be technical issues, whatever the actual reason is. I haven't listened to your podcast, so I can't comment directly. Possible reasons for rejection are unacceptable content, sexual content or strong language when the 'explicit' tag is not said to 'yes', and copyright infringement: a lot of people fall over this one by including 'mixes' or indeed full plays of commercially issued recordings without having written permission from the copyright owners or alternatively a valid Podcast Licence (not available in all countries, possibly only the USA). I have no idea whether this might be an issue with yours.

  • Problems with the RSS feed for my podcast

Hi, am very new to this so apologies if this requires a simple solution.
I was told that to find the RSS for my podcast, I hover my cursor over the subscribe button and this will be it. When I do this I get:
    itpc://www.jilt.org.uk/publichtml/publichtml/Podcast/rss.xml
I have tried this with itunes and it has been rejected as not working.
Other information that might be useful for anyone trying to help is that my url is www.jilt.org.uk.
I have entered "jilt" as the sitename on Iweb but this doesn't seem to come up anywhere.
Am very confused by it all and would hugely appreciate any advice.

You seem to be uploading to a server that uses a public_html folder as the root folder.
Inside this you have a copy of the public_html folder and, inside this is a copy of your website.
You also appear to have your files uploaded to the public_html folder because your podcast is available here....
    http://www.jilt.org.uk/Podcast/Podcast.html
So that you don't break the RSS feed what you need to do is this:
Publish the site to a local folder and you should get an index.html file and a folder named "jilt".
Upload these to the top level public_html folder. Now open the site in the browser and hover over the "Subscribe" button to get the feed's URL.
