You will need to restore the iPad using Recovery Mode. Since you are using a computer that you have never synced with in the past, you will have to erase the device and will lose all content. You will be able to download your purchased content as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought the content with in the first place - as long as the content is still available and the downloading of past purchases is available in your country.

HT4060 I would lke to use an iPAD with chart plotting programmes. Is it possible to charge the iPAD from a 12Volt supply or do I have to use an inverter to get mains Voltage first?

I like offshore sailing which means that I am without mains electricty for extended periods. I am considering the use of an iPAD 4th generation with a download of iNAVX which would appear to give an iPAD excellent chart plotting capeabilities. But how to keep it charged after the battery runs out? It seems very inefficient to have to use an Inverter to get a mains voltage, only to reduce it again to the level of a USB output!

When sync pics PC to iPad with iTunes, how do I select specific pics within each subdirectory?

My pics are on a external hard drive and organized into directories such as sports, birthdays,etc. I would want to select only some of the pics in each directory to sync with the iPad. I can select the directories to be synced but not specific pics. How can I select the pics without creating yet another directory for purpose of the sync.

then you may want to look into other photo apps than the built in one. the build in one is set to sync with one folder, not with multiple files from multiple folders. It simply can't do what you'd like it to do I'm afraid.
Someone may be able to recommend a different photo app for you to try.

Thank you for the question. As the device is registered to the Apple ID, you would simply need to make sure the name is correct on https://appleid.apple.com/. If the name of the device itself is incorrect and you wish to change it, see the article below.

Apple does not have a trade-in program. You can search Google for places that might purchase your iPad 2.

What I would do if handing back those devices is:
1. go into your iCloud account settings and disable find my iPhone.
2. go into settings->general->reset->Erase all content and settings
That will remove activation lock (1) so the next person who gets the device can activate it, and two, will delete all of your personal information, documents and data (basically renders the device back to the original pre-activation state it was in out of the box).

I am getting the error "13010" when ever i try to sync my ipad with iTunes. I looked around for a solution on the net. Someone asked me to delete the "iTunes Library Genius" file from iTunes folder and re-start iTunes. That didn't work for me. Someone also asked to go to Task Manager and terminate the program iTuneshelper. That didn't seem to help either. Kindly give me a solution if any.

I'm signed up to the Cloud and itunes match - the whole game. But I cam getting annoyed with having to delete songs one by one on my iPhone once dowloaded from the cloud as I only have a 16GB phone....yes I listen to music non-stop! When I try to sync photos, I followed all the steps, picked one folder. When I hit "apply" I get this error message: Are you sure you want to remove 30 apps from iPad. This will delete these apps and their data from the iPad. What have I done wrong

(By the way, the memory is not even one quarter full)

I have the same problem. I updated my mac to 10.5, which then had me update apps like itunes, etc. then it wanted me to sync my purchased music to my ipad before i updated the ipad...which worked ok. then when i was syncing the photos i got the same message when i hit "apply" asking are you sure you want to delete the 12 apps from the ipad - clicked "no" and brought me back to the original screen. Got the same message when trying to move them from the hard drive to the ipad. WHat is going on and how do I correct this? Thanks

I changed my apple ID, I can log in on my MAC so I know it works but my iphone 4S and my ipad mini dont know it has changed!!
Causing many issues.

You need to go to Settings > General > iCloud or Settings > General > iTunes Store and update your account information there. You need to do this on each device you have that account set up on.
