I totally agree with you. I had the same exact problem, I lost my old plan. I had totally got jipped! I have been a loyal customer for 12 years. My added on line two years ago just got turned off being shy of 2 months for the contract of 2 yrs. They charge me $75. Well I'm not going to pay it. And that is that! I'd say 'leave them', they don't care about us and never will.

I was told to go to a website to download CS5 software but I already own the CS5 software. Then I was told to go to webchat to get "them" to deathorize the old install. But I was in webchat (as I am now) when I first asked this question. The answer seems circular and gets me no farther toward reinstalling my CS5.

This is not web chat. This is the forum, which is an extension of the Adobe Support system, but you need to talk to Adobe Support directly either by chat or by telephone and they can process the deactivation.
There has been a problem lately with the links for getting into the web chat and for the phone support. Try the following link and look down the page for a chat option. If you don't see one, try using a different browser.

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox).

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

On my mac, java takes about 5-10 seconds to load in a web page applet from either safari or chrome.
This is 4.9 to 9.9 seconds too long.
PC is a bit faster but not much.
Sun absolutely wrecked java with respect to the web-client.
Please fix this.
Why: Because I want to write web-apps which don't suck. Which means I can't use javascript. Because despite the gajillions of money poured into marketing, it is really very, very slow.
How to fix:
It is very easy.
1. Use PhoneME with JIT. (get startup time to near zero). You might say, "well, we're about to get java to have zero startup time." But this is what you have been saying for ever, and failing at, miserably! Stop trying, give us a JavaME plugin instead.
2. Do NOT distribute monolithic massive class libraries. Instead, give me the opportunity to create class loaders. (I know you think you already do, but please look up the 10 year old bugs regarding the web plugin and class loaders). Make the distributable as SMALL as possible.
3. Are you writing the pluginin "in-between" code in webkit? If you are, fire who ever is writing it. If you aren't, WTF, the connection between the browser and java is slow as a slug. If I was just a bit more of a cynic I would think google is putting in usleep(1000) between calls. Take this code over NOW.
Look, you STILL have a tremendous opportunity in the web-client-space.
You need to show that Java is BETTER than javascript. Which it could be.
But currently it sucks.
It uses too much memory, it has a slow startup time, the connection between javascript and java is slow.
I should be able to write <script type="jar.pack.gz/java" src="blahblah.jar.pack.gz"></script> and multiply my performance by a thousand. Please do it.
I should be able to use a java2javascript library to simplify modifying the dom.
I shouldn't have to write javascript, except for inline code.
BUT INSTEAD I'M SPENDING MY TIME OPTIMIZING GWT.
Javascript sucks, we all know it is rising because of a vacuum of any real performance.
Please fill this void, or someone else will.

This could be the end of my Verizon relationship

I have been a very loyal customer since 1996 (then Airtouch), even staying after all my friends (mobile to mobile gone) left for Sprint when the iPhone came out. I have had nothing but issues the past year due to the fact that my plan is old... So much for taking care of your loyal customers!!! I have, okay now HAD, a plan with unlimited text messaging; however it did not include pictures because my plan predates such a thing. So after many, many bills where I was charged $.25 per picture message, I inquired about adding on picture messaging. The MULTIPLE Verizon employees I talked to called this an ADD-ON (implying I was adding something on NOT taking what I had away). I even explicitly asked over and over, I am not changing my current plan, right??? I am just adding pictures, which I can take off anytime I'd like, right??? "YES" I was told. "You are not changing your plan, simply adding on picture messaging and SMS."
Flash forward to getting my new bill, TWICE the cost of my normal bill and of course I freak out. I call Verizon and am told I may not be able to go back to the plan that I have had for years and years. EVEN THOUGH I ASKED, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER, EVEN THOUGH I TRIPLE CHECKED THAT NOTHING WOULD CHANGE FROM MY PLAN. Now I have had to submit an 'inquiry' regarding whether or not I can get my rightfully deserved text messaging (which should have never been taken away) returned to me.
Even better question, if I have unlimited text messaging, but it doesn't include pictures/SMS - causing me to have to purchase an "add-on" which can only be done by an inclusive package that is text/pictures/SMS (thereby taking away my original texting plan), then shouldn't it have been included in my plan all along??? How is it separate in one case but only given as a package in another case? Is it together/same or separate/different??? Verizon, if this isn't resolved, I am leaving. I cannot take the lack of customer care, rude phone employees, and the fact that they have zero ability to resolve anything. FIX THIS!!!!

My iomega stopped backing up files. This happened around the time I updated to Snow Leopard. Any fixes?

If the light will not turn on the TC is dead. No matter that the hard disk is running.. it should only run at start up or when it is accessed not constantly.. that means the board in the TC has failed. Apple do not repair them.. They will replace it under warranty or applecare.
If you have gone over the 12month warranty it will still be covered if you have applecare on any computer or an Apple TV. In fact the cost of the apple TV plus apple care is still cheaper than buying a new TC.. so it is a route some people are taking.. certainly depends.. in some places like Europe or Australia now, there is a recognition that statutory warranty must be longer on a product that is premium to the market. 12months is not good enough. Apple will sometimes listen.
They might be fixable but I do not know how.

How do I change back to having "bookmark this page" on the top of the list and subordinate "all bookmarks" lower since I use former 100 times more than the later on a daily basis?

I create about 25 -50 new bookmarks daily for my business. So, it would seem user friendly to put that command at the top of the scroll down list. Maybe I am unique and others want to "show all bookmarks" repeatedly. I can't understand why one would need to do that more often than add multiple bookmarks on a daily basis. i look forward to your response,. Respectfully MC

cor-el, as you said, that solution puts the "show all bookmarks" all the way at the bottom. How do you either make "bookmark this page" first without changing the order of the other options or force "show all bookmarks" to be second instead of last, the way the menu was before?

IMac won't start in mac. Will only start in Windows, option key won't work to allow me to get to mac side. downloaded avast last week. Worried this could be the problem??

iMac was making a strange sound yesterday. I shutdown and restarted now it will only boot in windows vista. I've tried option key that doesn't work, I've tried command R no luck. I've left un-plugged, not sure what to do. I don't even get the white screen like it's trying to load, it goes directly to windows vista, once in windows I can't get anywhere to try and go back. I did download avast the other week, it seemed to be running fine until yesterday. UGH

If you are running OS X "Lion" or later, boot OS X Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac. For Snow Leopard, start your Mac while holding the c key with its original OS X Install DVD inserted in its optical drive.
At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red. If Disk Utility reports "The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK" in green then you can be reasonably (though not completely) assured your hard disk is in good working order.
If you manage to boot OS X, uninstall Avast. Its effect on a Mac has progressed from complete and utter worthlessness to maliciousness.
Be sure to use its latest uninstaller, which will remove it completely.

Hi everyone,
Please can someone provide me with a fix for the latest annoyance I've discovered on my Q10.
Whenever I enter the wifi area at work, all my email accounts are taken off line. The network is NOT one of my saved networks, so I can't simply delete it. The Q10 connects to my home wifi fine.
If anyone can tell me how to fix this I will be very grateful. As a Blackberry user of many years the Q10 is a huge disappointment (too many swipes, clicks and "gestures" to do stuff I used to be able to do with far fewer on my Bold). I really want to love this phone but unfortunately it just annoys me.

I had the same issue. Problem for me was that the wireless network did block some outgoing ports that are needed to send and receive emails (e.g. 25, 143, 465, 587, 993 etc).
You can either ask the administrator of the wireless network to open up those ports, or you can disable your company WiFi in your settings.
To do that, manually create a WiFi connection with exactly the name (SSID) of your company's WiFi. Then disable this WiFi connection. It will not connect to it again.
