Ifconfig -a output shows duplicate output

Hi,
When I run the ifconfig -a command on the solaris 10 virtual machine I get an output which contains the below entry
<BROADCAST, RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4, DUPLICATE>
Also, I could find the following entry in /var/adm/messages file
Apr 9 20:06:59 penguin ip: [ID 567813 kern.warning] WARNING: e1000g0 has duplicate address 192.168.210.034 (in use by 00:00:66:61:6b:65) ; disabled
Apr 9 20:06:59 penguin in.routed[471]: [ID 238047 daemon.warning] interface e1000g0 to 192.168.210.34 turned off
the output of arp -a only shows the following
e1000g0 224.0.0.0 240.0.0.0 SM 01:00:5e:00:00:00
I have waited for a few hrs now for this issue of the duplicate IP address to get resolved automatically but it still perists.
Actually this IP address was working perfect till yesterday .
Today I copied my vm to a different machine and then started it . Thats when all the problem started.
The ifconfig output always give the DUPLICATE message .
How do I rectify this problem

You need to get whatever is responding to that address to stop It's not that easy. Detecting of asumed duplicate IPs has become more "sensitive" with a late Solaris 10 release (or patch). These installations of Solaris even detects running IPs in other broadcast domains. In former Solaris 10 releases this was not a problem, i could define interfaces of several systems with the same (virtual) IP, as long as these systems did not act as a gateway. This has changed and is not possible anymore. We had to redefine IPs in our network for that reason...

RTF Report output shows Duplicate or Missing lines

Hi,
We have a program which prints XML output into the concurrent program output file and the output for this file is set to PDF attached to an RTF template.
The RTF output generated should ideally have the output in the following manner
Header 1
- Line 1
- Line 2
- Line 3
- Line 4
Header 2

- Line 2
- Line 3
- Line 4
But, once the concurrent program completes execution, the RTF template displays data as -
Header 1
- Line 1
- Line 2

Here HEADER1 section is working perfectly fine. But HEADER2 section shows duplicate lines and line are missing as well.
I checked the XML Output - The data is perfect as required. In case we fetch the concurrent program out file (.out file) and load this into the RTF template offline (in MS Word BI - Addin), and do a preview, the output there too is fine and as required.
I am doubting that the XDO process which merges the XML into RTF template, after the concurrent program generates output, is creating this effect.
Could someone please let me know the reason of this behavior. Is there any metalink note or procedure that we need to follow.

HT1349 Why won't "show duplicates" show up in either my File or Edit menus? And, why does my entire library keep getting duplicated?

I have a new computer and I'm trying to reload my library and my playlists. I also have a new iPhone 5 and I'm trying to load that too. I'm getting duplicates of everything in my library. The thing I loved about the iTunes before the new one was that it had a function to show the duplicates so I could keep only one song instead of 4 versions of the same song from different cd's.

IPod is showing duplicates of songs, but songs are not duplicated in iTunes.

iPod touch is showing duplicates of songs, but songs are not duplicated in iTunes... any ideas how to fix? Tried resyncing, didn't work.

I'm fishing slightly but you may have casing inconsistenices in artist or album names that cause the iOS firmware to see more than one instance of the album but with each getting all the tracks. Merging stuff in iTunes via sort fields may also have unintended consequenses on the device. Could you post back a screenshot or decribe the symptoms more fully, ie. exactly which menu screen you are in on the iPod, what is repeated etc. The songs menu for example can correctly list more than one copy of a song if it appears on different albums.

If you are on Version 11.0.1 rather than 11 Apple put it back in
View > Show Duplicates
Option + View > Show Exact Duplicates
so if you are on 11 upgrade to 11.0.1 and you will have it

But that is precisely what you should not do. iTunes doesn't distinguish between "originals" and "duplicates", you have to decide which is which. If you delete them all you have nothing left.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send the others to the trash unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the drive as opposed to multiple entries to the same file.

Ipod touch shows duplicate albums?

I have a second generation ipod touch 32gb, and recently upgraded to software 3.0...
I also have the latest version of itunes on a macbook pro running leopard.
Now, I have sorted all of my songs to how I want them. I pressed "Show duplicates", and there's nothing... I checked all of the files in the itunes music folder, no duplicates or anything, and checked it out on itunes as well. Everything looks perfect...
All of the songs will sync onto my iPod fine..when I search using the songs mode, it states I have exactly the amount of songs on my itunes...but when i search using cover flow or album mode, there are a few albums that, for one reason or another, have been duplicated. I looked at them, and they display the exact same songs. It's really weird, I have attempted to restore iPod several times and even reload my songs. Nothing helps.
Any suggestions?

I had a similar issue where 2 of my albums would show up twice in cover flow. I took a closer look at these 2 albums to see if they had anything in common. In both cases I had added tracks to the albums in the past manually.
Try this,
1. Go to one of the albums that is being duplicated in cover flow.
2. Right click on the first track and click "Get info" and then the "sorting" tab.
3. At the bottom of the "sorting" tab hit "next" or "previous". Go thru the album and keep an eye on how each track is sorted. In my case the "sort album" field had text in them when other tracks on the album did not. It's best to keep the sort criteria simple. When I deleted the text I sync'd and only had one copy of the album.

I have used Apple products for quite some time. I have no idea why they keep changing everything that has finally become second nature! It is now MUCH more difficult - create a playlist, show duplicates, etc. Its an absolute mess and I have yet to find anyone who does not have multiple complaints.
I have this same problem. All information I look up says use "Show duplicates", which I have done many times for years before. But now when my iPad is plugged in, that option is grayed out for me (unable to be clicked on). I went to the Apple store today and the employee couldn't even answer my questions. I am planning to go back sometime with my computer as well and beg for a solid explanation.
Wouldn't it be nice if these tracks just didn't duplicate? That seems like a proper solution that would suit me well. Until then I just plug in, arrange by song, and go through manually deleting the extras. Often. #wasteoftime #annoying #argh
