IFilter - Index service gets stuck on PDF files

Hello, I'm running iFilter v6.0 on Windows Server 2003. The server takes a couple seconds to index a text file, but as soon as it runs into a PDF it gets stuck. It will never finish indexing the PDF. If I try to delete the PDF, I get an error saying the file is in use. I'm able to delete the file once I stop the index service. I really need to index PDF files for our website.
I already tried stopping the index service, uninstalling iFilter, rebooting, reinstall iFilter, reboot, empty the index catalog, start the index service, and finally reindex.

You can't create pdf using Adobe Reader. You need Adobe Acrobat to create pdfs, for more on Acrobat, please refer - http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html

Lightroom getting stuck when importing files...

Hi all,
I'm having problems with my lightroom cc when importing files from my desktop.
First, the lightroom is not generating thumbnails from those files, than, when I try to import them, the software stops responding and get stuck as "importing files".
Check the images of my screen attached. I don't know what to do anymore.
Anyone?!!?

Getting PO number as file name when getting output as pdf file

Hi Experts,
Is there any possibility to get PO number into file name (instead of spool number) when getting output as pdf file.
Since I'm printing POs in batches (as pdf) it is too difficult to find exact PO among all the pdf files.
If PO number maintained as file name, would be great time saver for me.

Watch out with Excel. As you use the High Speed Recorder to create the
original file you will most probably create quite large files quite
fast. Translating that into an ASCII spreadsheet would work fine in
LabVIEW but Excel has a limitation that it can't open spreadsheet files
above a certain number of rows. I do believe this is around 64k rows but
it does a little vary depending on the number of columns you have.

Form90 service getting stuck .......in 9iDS

I installed 9iDS, 9iAS and 9i Database on my laptop.
I have a forms application in a directory c:\diag.
I have somefile.fmx file in there. I started oc4j to get HTTP listener and then typed the following in a browser:
http://mypc.ayushnet.com:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=C:\diag\somefile.fmx
It shows "applet started" and "loading..." text on a window in the browser. Then a small window comes with message "9i forms services" which gets stuck. Nothing happens after that. In the 0c4j window I get the message :
"FormsServlet init():
configFileName: c:\sanhita\oracle9i_tools/forms90/server/formsweb.cfg
testMode: false
ListenerServlet init()
RunformProcess.connect(): failed !
Forms session <1> aborted: unable to communicate with runtime process. "
CAN SOMEONE SUGGEST WHAT IS WRONG ? THERE IS ENOUGH AVAILABLE MEMORY.
In the forms90 developer window when I click on green light icon for forms to run, same sequence of things happened.
It seems in 9iDS, .fmx execution will always go through form 9i service.
SO PLEASE HELP. WHAT SHOULD I DO.

is found on your management server (folder where service manager is installed)?

How to get the output .pdf file of a quiz to report to the quiz results analyzer on my internal server (mamp)

I created a quiz.
Created an internal server on my compute rising a MAMP.
When I publish my quiz using the multi-file publishing options...
I am able to use both the "HTML" and the "swf" output files to complete a quiz and reporting the results to the quiz results analyzer.
However, I am unable to get the output .pdf field to reporting to the quiz results analyzer.
Any help? Would this issue have to do with the Acrobat Professional setting? Captivate setting? My internal server setting? or output fuel placement?
I tired to put the .pdf file in the same MAMP root folder location as my "internalserverreporting.php and internalserverread.php files.

You cqan submit the report as a JOB and export the out put to memory, once the job is complete you can read the list to display the output.

EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
Does not display the output list of the called report, but saves it in ABAP memory and leaves the called report immediately. Since the calling program can read the list from memory and process it further, you need to use the addition ... AND RETURN . Also, since the called report cannot be requested for printing, the addition ... TO SAP-SPOOL is not allowed here. In addition, you must not assign a function code to the ENTER key in the current GUI status. The saved list is read from the SAP memory using the function module 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY' and can then be saved to the database using EXPORT, for example. You can process this list further with the function modules 'WRITE_LIST', 'DISPLAY_LIST' ... of the function group "SLST".

Index doesn't work if PDF file resides in RoboHelp Project

If I create a RH8 project and publish, the index works as it should. Each keystroke will change where you are in the Index. If I put a .PDF file in the project, the Index doesn't work -- it no longer recognizes keystrokes and you can only scroll through it.
Does RoboHelp not support PDF files within the project?

Ummm, did I hear you say "Usage Reports"?
That sems to indicate that you are publishing to RoboHelp Server, no? And that piece of information would have been nice to know up front. Please click here for more on why.
If you are indeed using the RoboHelp Server, I'm going to move this thread over into that forum category. But I'll wait to hear back with a confirmation from you before I do.

How to link a full text index with catalog in a PDF file ?

I already create some PDF files on a folder (with hypertext links between us) and I use the command "Tools\Document processing\Full Text Index with Catalog" to create an index; at this time everything works properly.
Now I want to link this Index to my first PDF file in order to use automatically this index on an advance search in this file.

Do any of you have an example showing how to index .pdf files through FILE_DATASTORE? I am able to successfully index text and .doc files but not a .pdf file. Below is the script that I use to index my files:

indextype is ctxsys.context
parameters ('datastore COMMON_DIR filter ctxsys.null_filter');

I don't think that you are able to index anything else then plain ascii texts, because you are not using the INSO filter.
Use preferences like this:

How do I get my book/pdf files into and out of iBooks?

There was a time when I my iBooks App appeared under the shared files section of my iPad app list, and when it did I could get my books/pdfs from my ibook App to my iTunes on my PC and vice-versa. But iBooks no longer appears in that list so I can't transfer new books/pdf files to read on my iPad. The iBook App is still on my iPad with all the old Books and FTP files, it just does not show up under the list of apps whose files can be shared. What must I do to get that functionaity back?

Okay Chris, thanks. I may have misremembered getting the other pdfs via the shared conduit. I may have dragged them from my PC -- it's been a long time since I used this system.
One more thing. Somewhere along the things I was doing recently I asked to sync the Books. It was then that I received a message that more than one library was synced to this iPad! It asked whether I wanted to erase this iPad and sync with the current iTunes library! I did change my Apple password a few days ago -- could that explain it? It could explain why only some of my books are visible in iTunes. But I don;t want to erase my current iPad!
I think I will exit and go back in again afresh.

Index failed for Docs and PDF files with return code 8002

Hi All,
I try to index Word documents in a webdav folder in KM. When I add a text document the Indexing completes correctly and I can find the document via the search. When I add a Word Document or PDF to the folder and reindex I get the message Index failed with return code 8002.
How can I solve this Problem.

In the URL generator service = http://sap12

Why when I save an Illustrator CC file as PDF, I get a blank PDF file?

Hello - I recently migrated to Illustrator CC and have a problem saving my files as PDF. When I save as PDF, a blank file is created, that tells me the following message: "Questo le Adobe® Illustrator® è stato salvato senza contenuto PDF. Per inserirlo o aprirlo in altre applicazioni, occorre salvarlo di nuovo da Adobe Illustrator con l'opzione Crea le compatibile con formato PDF attivata. Questa opzione si trova nella nestra di dialogo per il formato Illustrator nativo, quando si salva un le Adobe Illustrator con il comando Salva con nome." that in english would be something like: "This AI file has been saved without PDF content. In order to import it or open it with other applications, you must save it again from AI checking the "create PDF compatible format". This option is in the dialog panel for native AI format...". I have always saved as PDF for the printer when I used previous AI versions with no problem, but now the same file gives me this problem with AI CC. I tried to save as PDF other new files, but the result is always the same, whatever file - whatever PDF settings I choose - whatever name I give - whatever way I save the AI file (with or without the PDF compatible file option). You may try the following list, or it may be one for Creative Cloud support (all Creative Cloud customer service issues),

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
