Iframe embedding - scrolls the page down

I'm embedding a form on my page i have the form code in an html file on my host along with and associated javascript file and the css file. Whether I embed the code in an iframe in a snippet or put a placeholder in a text box and add the iframe after publishing when the page load (only the first time.... on refresh its fine) the screen jumps or scrolls down to where the form is, rather than loading at the top. url is http://www.in2artgallery.com/In2art-Contact.html the html code for contact_form is at http://www.in2artgallery.com/contact_form.html javascript at .js and css at .css
thanks for any help

THANK YOU, Vivek, for your '''outstanding '''help!! "'''Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages'''" WAS, in fact, selected, and deselecting has solved the problem! I have to wonder how that option became selected as a result of the upgrade -- or maybe I unintentionally pressed '''F7'''? -- but it's a moot point now.

  • Firefox 4.0 - scroll wheel shrinks text rather than scrolling the page down

On some web pages, when I use the scroll wheel on my mouse to scroll down, the page text shrinks, as if I'd done the appropriate gesture on a mobile browser. Reversing the scroll wheel direction enlarges the text. Moreover, the page down key seems to switch me to another tab, rather than moving down in the same page.
I first thought that the scroll wheel problem does not affect all pages. However, it now seems that it has stopped misbehaving. I just went back to a firefox window containing a page I thought had misbehaved earlier, and the scroll wheel now behaves normally and so does the page down key.
I upgraded to firefox 4.0, and told it to restore the tabs I had had open in the previous firefox version. The scroll wheel had behaved normally in that version.
I have not closed and restarted firefox since the upgrade. I don't recall what version I had been running, but I generally upgrade promptly when a new version is available, so I was probably on the latest of the previous series.

Try to close and restart or even reboot the computer to see if that helps. Sounds that the Ctrl key somehow got stuck in Firefox because zooming is the behavior if you press Ctrl and use the scroll wheel.

  • The down key doesn't scroll the page on some web sites. How can I make it scroll on all web sites?

Viewing these pages at suppose.mozilla.org in firefox 21, I can use the down key to scroll the down.
However, this is not true for some web pages. For example, github pages :
    <https://github.com/bower/bower>
pressing the down key no longer seems to scroll the page down. I've not tested it, but I'm fairly sure I used to be able to scroll with just the keyboard.

Reading that 'scrolling with arrow keys no longer works' page, I notice that 'page down'. 'home' and 'end' also don't work - 'page up' works though.

  • The "page down" key goes too far down - how can I adjust it?

When I'm scrolling through an article or webpage and hit the "page down" key, the jump down is too far and I have to scroll back up a couple lines to see what it missed. Is there a way to adjust that?
    Thanks.

Are you zooming the page or have adjusted default font sizes?
It is possible that this affects the behavior of scrolling as this can be a fixed amount of pixels.
Look at these prefs (see about:config) to set the scrolling behavior with the keyboard.
    *toolkit.scrollbox.horizontalScrollDistance (5)
    *toolkit.scrollbox.verticalScrollDistance (3)
*Bug 635645 - consider increasing the amount of scrolling performed by using the arrow keys
*Bug 725700 - Keyboard arrow keys and scrollbar buttons should have consistent scrolling distances

[BUG FIXED, see "EDIT 2" at the end of my post]
I'm on Firefox 3.6.21, and I got this problem today after a Greasemonkey update (To version 0.9.10, apparently).
Disabling Greasemonkey solved the problem, and re-enabling it reproduced the problem (middle-clicking links to open in new tab did not work, merely highlighted the link).
I should also note that while Greasemonkey was enabled and the bug was affecting me, Ctrl+Click to open links in new tabs was also broken.
    I hope this helps!
EDIT: It appears this is a known incompatibility/conflict bug between current versions of Greasemonkey and Tab Mix Plus. Read more here:
    https://github.com/greasemonkey/greasemonkey/issues/1406
EDIT 2: GREASEMONKEY HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED with a workaround to fix the problem. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/versions/ to install the update manually. It hasn't been reviewed by Mozilla yet, so it won't be an automatic update for another day or two. All credit to "cannonfodder" below for noticing this; please mark his post as helpful!

  • After a few minutes, the page down won't work without clicking the mouse pointer on the page I am reading to activate page down again. Is there a way to go back to page down working every time without having to click the page first?

    Question
After a few minutes, the page down won't work without clicking the mouse pointer on the page I am reading to activate page down again. Is there a way to go back to page down working every time without having to click the page first?

Today, two other users reported issues with the back-forward history list dropping down if they hovered the mouse pointer over the back or forward button -- without clicking -- and then moved the pointer downwards. One user was on a touchpad, I don't know about the other user. Are you experiencing anything like that?

  • Why does Firefox not scroll the page when selecting & the cursor reaches the bottom of the screen

When selecting text on a screen page, when the cursor reached the bottom edge of the screen Firefox (9.0.1) does not scroll. Other programs (including IE) do so, so it does not appear to be a local computer problem.
I cannot see a setting on the options page that enables/disables this so what is the solution?

Enable the Add-ons bar (Firefox > Options or View > Toolbars; Ctrl+/) or the Find bar (Ctrl+F) to make Firefox scroll the page while selecting text.

It is very difficult to navigate on facebook via safari. The IPAD does not allow other browsers to download and use it almost prevents the facebook app and the lack of scrolling the page.

I also have problems with Facebook on my iPad 2. I don't do a lot with Facebook and generally only post on my feed page. Sometimes hitting return on the keyboard enters the comment, sometimes not. Sometimes the comment will show on my iPad but if I revisit that page I find that the comment has disappeared. So I'd say that Facebook and my iPad are not totally compatible with each other.
I looked into Friendly and was about to purchase this free ap. But before I did I went to the Friendly web page for more info. There I found a page with users comments. One after another users complained about bugs with Friendly. The developers claimed a fix was coming but the user comments complained about the lack of response and support. One of the fixes suggested by the developers was to log out of Friendly then log back in. One user complained that doing this three times in ten minutes was not very helpful. Because of this I decided to avoid Friendly.
I did find a Facebook developed ap but it was for the iPhone. I presume that iPhone aps will work on the iPad but I'll wait until Facebook releases an iPad compatible ap. If there is an ap developed by Facebook for the iPad that I missed please let me know.

  • My Firefox has JUST started jumping to the BOTTOM of a web page when I hit either the Page Down key or the Down Arrow, WHY?!?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2. Today my Firefox started jumping to the BOTTOM of a websites page INSTEAD of going down one screen at a time like the Page Down key has been doing (on any browser I have ever used).

The text on web pages fades as you scroll the page, it reappears if you click refresh or move the mouse arrow over it.
I went to many different web pages and it does it on all of them including this one.
I went to the same web pages using IE 10 and the text does not fade away.
I reset FF still doing it. I uninstalled and reinstalled FF still doing it.
    What could be wrong?

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • Upgraded to snow leopard, now safari scrolls a page down when space bar is hit and sometimes crashes.  Any ideas for a fix?

I just upgraded to the new snow leopard, now my Safari is acting loopy.  At times, the page will scroll down when I hit the space bar.  As I type this discussion the screen isn't paging down, but if I go to the tab where I have facebook loaded and hit the space bar, it acts as a page down key.  I've had safari crash about 5 times tonight for no apparent reason.  The delete key sometimes will act as a page back key.  I really have no idea whats going on.
I've had keyboards go wacko on me before due to something being spilled on them or a wireless problem, but this keyboard is a wired keyboard and nothing was spilled on it.  It's rather new and I'm quite certain it's not a keyboard issue.
No settings have been changed on the computer.  The only thing different today from yesterday, is the fact that I upgraded to snow leopard.
    Help would be pretty sweet.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • I can't get my mouse to scroll the page in finder

On web pages and everything else i can use one finger to scroll up and down on the page.  In Finder it will not scroll, i have to find the scroll bar on the side or use the arrow keys on the keyboard.  Ive looked in mission control and looked in the magic mouse and nothing will let it work.  Any ideas?

I'm not quite sure what you want to achieve.   What do you want in finder that you cannot move to?
Have you noticed the small slide bar bottom right corner with which you can adjust the contents of the page.   To the left makes the page smaller and brings into view items that may be below page level.   To the right increases the size of the content and from which point your finger scrolling should work.

  • Firefox not responding to the "Home" and "End" keys. Instead of scrolling the page, it's reverting to the beginning of a text line or not responding at all. Please help.

I am currently facing trouble when trying to use the standard keyboard commands such as Home/End/Page Up/Page Down on Firefox.
The browser does not respond to the same.
Even the arrow keys take some time to elicit a response.

  • Auto scrolling the page in playback/record

During record/playback the page does not auto scroll. I cannot find an option for this.
    Please help

Auto-scrolling (Lock Playhead): If the Timeline Area shows only a portion of your songs length, then the Playhead will "disappear" when it reaches the right edge of the Project. You then have to manually scroll the Timeline Area to view that section. To avoid this constant interaction, GarageBand provides a feature called "Auto-scrolling. Now when you play your song, the Playhead stays fixed at the center of the Timeline Area and the Time Ruler with all the Track Lanes itself scrolls underneath the fixed Playhead. The little double-arrow icon in the lower right corner of the Arrange window lets you toggle between Auto-scrolling on and off.
This beavior affects the Timeline area in the the Arrange window and the Timeline area of the Track Editor
    Hope that helps
