IFS install on NT 4.0 w/station

I'm getting an error when trying to use the iFS Configure when connecting to an Oracle 8i
Database (on a different machine). The error
is
"The following error ocurred: java.lang.classnotfound Exception:oracle.jdbc.driver. Oracle Driver"
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Nigel

I have just purchased and installed a new Airport extreme base station but now the Airport Utility cannot see my old Airport Express. Are their compatibility issues and do I need to purchase a new Express?

When you can, take a look at the old AirPort Express and locate the model number in the faint print on the side of the device.
If you see A1084 or A1088, this is an older Express version that is no longer supported by the current version of AirPort Utility that you are using with the new AirPort Extreme.
If that is the case, your Express is at least 6 years old...probably older...so it is about time to treat yourself to a new version with much faster speeds and more features.

Please describe whether your two AirPort base stations are both 802.11n-capable.  Also describe how you configured them.  Did you configure the AirPort Extreme to "allow this network to be extended"?  Did you configure the AirPort Express to "extend a wireless network"?

    Problem is Fixed !!!
We were having this problem because IFS installation was not recognising a separate tablespace which we created for IFS, so we started using default USERS tablespace after which the installation was successful.
    Thanks.

  • IFS install problem

I want to ask is that, now i have install ora9i database on my notebook.
I need to do a project for online document management system.
The IFS system is so similar to my project.
Should I need to install ora9i database + ora9i Application Server + IFS and Content management system (SDK)?
Can I install IFS without Application Server, because i have been using notebook to install the ora9i db.
    OR
Can I install IFS without install Ora9i DB?
Also i need to do the full text search for the documents.
    e.g. word, html,pdf files.
    Can IFS to do this?
Are there any tutorials to teach me how to install and develop a system from IFS?
Have any company using IFS. I want to see some examples.
    Thank You

IFS 9.0.2 is only certified against Oracle 9iAS 9.2.0.1.
Hence it could be any number of things.
I suggest posting a log detailing the error condition on the CM SDK / 9iFS forum. (Not this forum which is for Oracle Files).

  • Setting up airport extreme base station with Mac and PC

I have an '02 iBook with an airport card installed and an airport extreme base station. my roommate has a PC and has the DSL connection in her room. i want to wirelessly network my iBook via the airport base. how do i do this? (my base was given to me without any manuals/disks etc)

Your Netgear wireless router is your network's base station. Your parent's PC will not be "serving as a base station" - its presence on the network isn't at all relevant to what you want to do.
To connect your G5 to the Netgear wireless router's network - click on your Mac's Airport menu, click on the name of your Netgear wireless router's network (it will appear in the list when you click on the Airport menu), and enter the wireless network password (if applicable) when prompted by the MacOS. That's is - you are connected!

  • Can no longer configure modem in Airport Extreme Base Station

We've been using our AEBS to connect to our ISP via its internal modem for several years. Recently, I needed to update some ISP information for the modem connection and did so successfully using Airport Admin Utility. Two days later, tried to change additional settings, but AAU no longer shows "Modem (v.90)" as a "connect using" option on the Internet page. In fact, all of the options are greyed out except Ethernet, PPP over Ethernet and Airport (WDS). What happened?
I've reloaded and updated all of the Airport utilities, updated the AEBS firmware, power-cycled the AEBS . . . everything, but nothing fixed the problem.
I've tried this from two systems running 10.3.9 and one running 10.4.7.
I'm desperate. We live in the mountains of Colorado and until recently our only option for Internet access has been modem. Next week, however, we'll be installing a dish for access via an antenna on a nearby mountain. I'm concerned that I won't be able to reconfigure the AEBS for broadband. It's also possible that we'll still need to use the modem to connect to work, so I'd like to be able to switch AEBS configurations at will.
I'll be most grateful for any suggestions offered.
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   also iMac G5 running 10.4.7 and a couple of laptops

Not yet. Maybe I'll try that next. The problem is that the 1-second reset only changes the password, but the 5-second really hard reset will wipe out all the settings and return the AEBS to default settings. If I still can't get to the modem configuration in AAU, then I've just lost all ability to connect to the Internet. (The modem in my computer got fried during a really, really bad lightning storm - zapper came in through the phone line even though it was connected through a surge suppressor - such is life on the Frontier!)
The modem in the AEBS is working because that's how I was connected to the Internet last night when I wrote the question, but I just can't configure it anymore.
I'll can give the hard reset a whack, but it makes me anxious. I may do better to just wait until my broadband link is installed and then configure the base station for Ethernet. At least that option seems to still be available.
    Thanks for the response.

  • 9iFS R2 on Windows 2000 repeated install failure - help !!

    Hi All,
here is a desperate plea for help with 9iFS R2 on Windows 2000, service pack 2, the story so far ....
    1) clean install of windows 2000 with service pack 2, network configured and working.
    2) install Oracle 9i R2 database and configure tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora as per the oracle by example documents for R2
    3) reboot machine and all service come up fine
    4) install Oracle 9i R2 Application Service with option A to just install web server and cache stuff. This is installed in its own oracle home, all seems fine, reboot the machine.
    5) all the services come up fine ( so far so good eh !! )
    6) follow the pre-installation for 9iFS R2 ( as per the solaris install notes as i can't find any windows specific ones ). This includes the creation of a tnsnames.ora file in 9iashome\9ifs\network\admin, checking of the configuration required for 9iFS, all seems fine. Reboot the machine and all services come up fine.
    7) start the 9iFS install, this is installed into the 9ias home as per the instruction. Install proceeds, enter config information, various connection tests are performed ok, and then we get to the 'configuring oracle 9iFS' screen which has a whole load of tasks which the installer then works its way through. When it gets to the 'executing setup scripts' option ( second from bottom ) it immediately throws a java exception, about 'file access denied', 'unable to create ifs directory' with no error code or anything else. The configuration screen then exits, and says installation complete successfully ! As you can imagine it hasnt, and nothing is configured. I have repeated this 4 full times now, reading the oracle install docs very carefully. Same thing every time. However, and this is the strange part. If at that point, I uninsall 9iFS using the oracle installer, and then try and reinstall 9iFS again, when it gets to the section of where to create the schema, and i tell it the same IFSSYS as the one created previously, it will then warn me its going to delete it and create a new one with the same name. I select 'yes' create it again and this time the install completes with no errors ! Hurray you think, ahhhh BUT....
    8) reboot the machine, start up the browser to point at the local machine port 1810, and log in successfully. Then select the node on port 15x41 ( sorry cant quite remember port number ) as per the post installation docs, and told to 'launch it'. This i do, providing the administration account user name and password which has been used to install everything so far. Explorer sits for about 60 seconds then returns to the screen with the portal node still down. I have tried starting the node and domain to no avail, both fail to start with no reason for the failure and nothing in the 9iFS\logs to explain whats failing - sigh.
    OK the questions
    1) why do i initially get this file access denied problem so failing the install - is this a known windows problem ?
    2) When i do get the install to complete by reinstall 9iFS and rebuilding the schema can I not then start the node or domain ?
In effect I am installing all these on a single machine with 1 Gig of memory for evaluation and prototyping as a possible Document Management System which we can build custom solutions upon. With being unable to install it at all we are at a total loss. Can some one save my sanity and remaining hair and offer some help/suggestions as to why this is not working ?
    best regards
    Tom

    Thomas,
thanks for your hints, it helped me quite well getting iFS installed on my machine! But when I try to start iFS from the administration GUI I do have excactly the same problem like you:
start up the browser to point at the local machine port 1810,
and log in successfully. Then select the node on port 15x41
as per the post installation docs, and told to 'launch it'.
This i do, providing the administration account user name and
password which has been used to install everything so far.
Explorer sits for about 60 seconds then returns to the screen
with the portal node still down. I have tried starting the
node and domain to no avail, both fail to start with no reason
for the failure and nothing in the 9iFS\logs to explain whats
failing - sigh.At first my thought was iAS might have problems with special characters in the admin's name or password (due to security guidelines we had to change the admin's name). But also with alphanumeric name and password it doesn't work.
Furthermore, also starting iFS using the BATch files doesn't work always. The services seem to start up correctly, but I'm not able to connect via share, FTP, HTTP or anything.
It got worse when I accidently called "ifsundeployear.bat": after that I no longer was able to redeploy the iFS's EAR, I only get error messages complaining inconsistency between local config files and the repository. Logfiles didn't help at all. So at the moment I'm reinstalling everything once more, sigh.
Did ANYONE get iFS started the way it's supposed to be under Windows 2000?

  • Impossible to open .dtproje file after re-installing SQL Server Management Studio

    Hi all,
today, after re-installing SQL Server Management Studio from a package downloaded from MS web site (SQLManagementStudio_x64_FRA.exe), I tried to open a SSIS package file via Visual Studio and I get a message stating that  this type of project (.dtproj)
    is not supported.
Here are the events that lead to this problem:
We have SQL Server 2005 installed on a server and are planning to migrate to SQL Server 2012.
1 - Earlier this year, to solve a problem that we had with the SSMS client, we installed SSMS 2012 client on my station.
At this point, it worked fine for SSMS and when I tried to access SSIS it converted the packages  to SSIS 2012 and it worked fine too.
2 - Yesterday, I tried to access SSMS and I had the message that the test period had expired; at this point I could open a SSIS file.
3 - To solve the problem with SSMS we decided to re-install it. It worked fine for SSMS but now I am not able to open a SSIS file.
Do you have any idea of what the problem is and what should I do to solve it?
It seems that there are some SSIS component missing, how could I get them back?

    You are welcome Sylviep,
Based on what I see you want to create BI projects (e.g. a SSIS project), thus it will be enough to install SSDT
which is part of the SQL Server installation media. I do not see why you would re-install SQL Server itself.

  • IFS-20010 : Unable to get service configuration properties

    Hi all,
I am trying to connect to IFS using JDeveloper. I have coded a JSP which makes a call to my java class to connect.
I know that I can connect from my machine because I can run a simple application from the command line to create
    a file in IFS.
Anyway, I set up my classpath under Project Settings as follows (same as my classpath on command line):

    C:\DOCUMENT\jars\repos.jar;C:\DOCUMENT\jars\utils.jar;C:\DOCUMENT\jars\xmlparserv2.jar;
    C:\oracle\ora90\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip
When I run the jsp under JDeveloper I get the following output on my developer console.
Should the classpath value be what I have entered for my classpath under Project Settings?
    Any help is appreciated,

    Hi,

I do not remember does Apex 2.1 that is coming with XE have any sample application.
You can upgrade Apex if you like, and then you get like this (exuding Other Demos) app
    http://actionet.homelinux.net/htmldb/lspdemo
And you can install e.g. these sample applications
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/packaged-apps-090453.html
Here is instructions to upgrade Apex.
Please read document completely before starting. As it say you will lose database management features
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/upgrade-apex-for-xe-154969.html
And of course those links I did post earlier do not apply anymore, as those are talking about Apex 2.1

  • Installing Designer 6i

I just downloaded Oracle 8.1.6 and Designer 6i. I installed the database on a Win2000 station and all seems to work well. Then I installed Designer 6i on a Win98SE station. I tried to connect to the DB with SQL*Plus 8 and all work. Now, I want to use Designer. I can't because "the user does not have an installed Repository". So I open the Repository Administration Utility to create it and I click on Install button. A window appears where I can choose for a Small, Medium or Large Repository Size. I choose Medium, I click on Start and this error msg appears:
    CDR-21207: Executable File Not Found.
Does someone have the same problem?
    null

I have this same setup as you, but I did not get the error. Did you download the install documentation? It is actually very good in the 6i version. Did you create the correct tablespaces or just lumping them all together? Follow the Oracle Designer 6i Installation Guide, if you aren't already doing so.
    I had no problems.

  • QM2.6 - how to start recording in UCCX CAD station

    Hi,
I just installed QM components in UCCX CAD station but don't know how to start recording
    -WFO QM desktop
    -WFO QM recording
Is there any button on CAD or via administrator work-flow?
**I referred QM admin and user's guide but cannot figure out
    Advise please!!!

Well we use QM recording and the Cisco IP Communicator - if your are using the communicator save yourself a lot of time and headaches by ensuring your device name is in the SEPxxxxxx format - it has to be the MAC - no other format will work.
Secondly to enable recording your CAD users you will need to enable them through the "quality management administrator" application. You will need to link them and license them as well. You won't be able to do any recording unless they are licensed. The debug logs under C:\Program Files\Cisco\WFO_QM\log are helpful as well. Once you have everything configured properly don't expect to see anything under the "Recordings" tab right away but you may see recordings pop into "Archives" when you search for one of the users you are recording.
