Ignored a reformat prompt for iPod... and now can't!
Yay! My first iPod glitch/issue!
Last eve I had my iPod hooked to my computer to charge. Windows needed to do an update and as it was doing so, I rec'd a message prompt saying "Windows needs to reformat your iPod." I wasn't sure WHY it needed to do this and didn't feel like investigating the matter, so I hit Cancel, and proceeded with my regular update. Suddenly now my iTunes or PC refuses to recognize my iPod and the iPod itself is stuck on the "Do not disconnect" screen; cannot even turn the thing off. I tried restarting several times but nothing.
I updated to iTunes 9 last week with no issues, or so I thought. If I cannot access the screen on iPod to reset it nor get my PC to SEE it so I can reformat, then what can I do?
Go to find a friend who has a Mac computer, or you can go to any apple shop, do a Restore with it

My Ipod was originally set up as a sub-account of a firends. After that, I got an Iphone and set up my own Apple account. I just got a new Ipod, and now can't sync my old Itunes to it. Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over. I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...
There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend? -

I recently updated my Firefox browser to version 26.0 and my Java to version 7 update 51 and now I can't access any of the Yahoo games I have played for years. I get a box that says "your security settings have blocked an untrusted application from running. Also, the box has two other lines; Name: ygames_applet and Location: http://yog10.games.sp2.yahoo.com. After all this time, this browser and my Chrome browser both give me this crap when I try to log in to yahoo games.

Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore via iTunes. If the iPod asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode or if you do not have the syncing computer, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

Log out and log in back to CC desktop and check whether apps are showing up as install or try.

Please try the given steps:
Reset the hosts file:
Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Mac OS
Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.

Swapped out AE for TC and now can't connect to Internet!
Hello all.
I just swapped out an Airport Express base station (the square one, not the old spaceship-shaped one) for a shiny new 1-TB Time Capsule. I figured that since 500 GB external hard drive for Time Machine backups is running out of space, so why not just get a TC so I don't have to worry about (a) hard drive space or (b) plugging in external drives again.
I unplugged the AE and plugged in the TC. Everything else is the same: The TC is plugged into a Verizon DSL modem, and we have two MacBooks in our house. I configured the TC using the Airport Utility. Everything appears to be OK, except that I can't connect to the Internet any more.
I have tried some of the tricks that have worked for other people on this discussion board -- namely, unplugging the DSL modem and the TC and restarting them. They don't appear to work. When I put the old AE back, everything works like a charm.
Has anyone run into this problem before? I'd be grateful for advice and ideas. I don't want to use the TC as a secondary wireless network device, like a range extender. It's a pricey piece of equipment and it should do what it says on the box. I'm pretty sure that the fault lies somewhere between the DSL modem and the TC, but I'm not clever enough with these things to figure it out on my own.Same problem....3 calls to tech support and almost another one yesterday UNTIL I discovered that re-setting the TC (with the paperclip tool!) worked. The Airport Network, via TC, recognizes my Network and TC pops up into the airport Utility. i kept "losing TC in the Airport Utility page....it only showed AE/Base Station...not waht I wanted.
I unplugged the Express (previous model,one that was prior to "X" capability, ie b/g) and left it unplugged.....this must be an issue) My ONE TO ONE instructors have offered to have a look at it, the AE,at my next appointment.
I, too, have a DSL modem (Qwest) that I have unplugged without success (connections) Unplugging the units seems to work for some things but not this particular problem.

Expanding on what The Fiend said, the license to play music from a CD is tied to and stays with the CD. So if you sell or give away the CDs, the license to play the music goes with them, at which point you legally no longer have the right to the tracks. You need to keep the CDs if you want to keep the music.
As for transferring the tracks from your iPhone back to your computer so you don't have to re-import all your CDs, check out this post from Zevoneer for some iPod/iPhone media recovery options:

my iPod appeared to be dead, i plugged it into my computer to charge and it said it needed to be restored. it updated it and now is stuck and my itunes says "waiting for iPod" and has been this way for hours. i've tried to hold down the home and power button and nothing happens!! my computere and itunes recognizes the iPod, but the iPod its self is completely unresponsive!! and helpoful hints?
