Hi All,
When i am trying to execute the query in Web using i am getting the following error in Graphical Display...
Error: Chart GR2Chart: Internal error when communicating with the IGS
Diagnosis
Internal error when communictaing with the IGS (charts).

Hi,
Check that the IGS is active, check in Transaction SM59 - you can test it there, also there are notes on OSS - don't have the note number at the moment but can located type in IGS.

when i excute in wad, i checked in forums regarding this issue ,it is suggested that in check in se38--> se38->GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN(execute)->then it opens one more window (IGS_RFC_DEST)execute(could not reach to IGS)
in RSRT if i execute IGS test button it is showing page cannot be displayed
can anybody give answer for this what to do

Hi Venu,
I would suggest that you contact your basis team and ask them to check the entry for the IGS in SM59.

Hi,
We have recently upgraded to NW04S.
Most of our BW reports( SAP delivered or custom, web template or not ) work fine with the IGS, while some reports don't, We receive a message from the Enterprise Portal ( Error When Calling Up IGS (ListenerRfc: unknown error)). No other details are available
We have checked and found out the related web templates are actually activates properly. From the same business content, we find some repports work and some don't, all however use web template.
Has anybody expoerienced the same? Please help.

Hi AHP,
   1> BW_IGS_ADMIN when executed showed me some charts with some statictics and status etc. However as mentioned the other report BW_IGS_CHART_TEST just shows me a blank screen.
    2> SM59 connection test for the IGS RFC IGS_RFC_DEST is successful
    3> Ping on the Gateway Host( for the RFS dest) works fine as well.
    4> Also as I mentioned earlier, some of the reports using web teamplate works fine where some are not.
    5> when I do the RFC trace ( since I get an "Error When Calling Up IGS (ListenerRfc: unknown error) ) via ST01 for the query , in the BI sysatem, I get an error 'Prog:CL_IGS_CHART==================CPRow:'.
   Please let me know how do I proceed further.

Error while calling the Graph

Hi,
When I am trying to open the Graph through BEx Browser, getting an error 'Error When Calling Up IGS (Error opening an RFC connection.)'.
Same report is working fine in my development server.
Please advise if I need to do any settings for this.

I think you have not correctly configured the IGS server for your production system.
Try to check the IGS connection.

IGS Config Problem: ListenerRfc::Abort - Help Please!

Hello,
I've been working with getting IGS installed and working and can't figure out what's wrong. the install came back successful. I've gone through and fixed, and tested, my SM59 definitions. Gone through OSS and looked at the recommended notes, etc. (all the usual stuff). Now I'm getting desperate!)
Here's the message our app gets via the www query trying to get graphs:
"IGS: Error When Calling Up IGS (ListenerRfc: unknown error)"
Here's what I've done to date:
1. re-installed it (on my BW C/I - same host - which is an ABAP instance ONLY)
2. corrected the default SM59 defintions (set them to what's spec'd in the igs.xml file) and tested them out.
3. manually started and stopped it
4. In troubleshooting the MUX - here's what I get from the log mux_"sap-bid1.trc"
[Thr 3342] Sat Dec 24 10:49:08 2005
[Thr 3342] [ListenerRfc::Abort] Aborted
[Thr 3342] [ListenerRfc::Cleanup] Cleaned up
[Thr 258] [ListenerRfc::DispatchRfc] returned with Abort()
Which tells me my ListenerRfc isn't "hearing" the request for graphics yes?
So how to I configure it - ListenerRfc - if that is indeed the problem?

Resolved - AFTER IGS patch 10 application, IGS was looking for gfwchart (versus gfwchart.tpl - see below)
Fixed it by renaming the file...
sap-bid1:bidadm 10> more chart_11054d91098584_5.trc
Can't find config file /usr/sap/BID/DVEBMGS00/igs/conf/gfwchart
sap-bid1:bidadm 11> cd /usr/sap/BID/DVEBMGS00/igs/conf/
sap-bid1:bidadm 12> ls
dev_sapstart gfwchart.tpl igs.xml xmlchart.tpl

Web application designer web item missing

Hi,
I have a problem with the WAD designer, when I'm designing a new web template and I drag and drop any web item to my template layout, the item appears without image and with a message "Table: Image missing". I try to solve the problem deleting the wad cache, and eve reinstalling the SAP GUI, but it still happening.
Can anyone help me please!!

"ListenerRfc : unknown error" in communication with the IGS from the WAD

Hi all,
I face a problem with the charts in the web template I built. The source query shown as a table is normally presented but the views from the same query are not displayed at all. The diagnostic message refers to an internal error met during the communication with the IGS. The system activities messages text is "ListenerRfc : unknown error".
Anybody could give me a hand in that case?

Hi,
The connection is Ok. I asked the admnistrator to restart the server because the IGS was desactivated yesterday in a reboot. The IGS works now... when it wants.
I face a new message : "ListenerRfc: unknown interpreter". It seems the problem is not over.
When I launch the dashboard in the web from the WAD, sometimes it shows the chart of the 1st item with the old message for the 2nd or the new message for the 1st one and a chart for the 2nd item.

Check the service name in SM59. Look at installation guide for the correct name it should have.

Error when calling up IGS(listenerrfc: unknown error)

We have integrated IGS 640.2 running on os windows 2003 64 bit(BW 3.5) .When i call the IGS chart from the EP portal i am getting the following error messge
Error when calling up IGS(listenerrfc: unknown error)
When i run the report GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN i am getting a blank screen.
This is in the case of production server.
I am getting the graph when i run report GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN in my BW quality server ( with same version IGS 640.2 os windows 2003 32 bit).
I have followed the below stpes for re-constructionin BW prod:
Followed the Snote 458731
1. Checked the Rfc destination 'GFW_ITS_RFC_DEST' amd 'IGS_RFC_DEST'
2. I can see the monitoring page when i run http://IGSHOST:LISTENERHTTPPORT
3. Program id and gateway is properly maintained
4. It is not generating any dumps when i set the dump status to "dump_on"
but in BW quality - dump file is getting generated
I can't switch on trace because it requires resatrt of teh server which is not possible in production.
I can see service called SAP IGS in BW qualitybut it is missing BW production.
Apart from that evrything looks similar in both quality and production server.
Can anyone advice me on how to fix this issue.

Check the following Note : 454042
In rz20 you can find the IGS as the Internet Graphics Server in the monitor set SAP CCMS Monitors for Optional Components.
When you double-click on this entry a hierarchy with performance values should be displayed. If no hierarchy is displayed, even though the IGS is running, call transaction se38 and execute the program graphics_igs_admin. Choose Environment ® Switch on CCMS to activate the IGS display in rz20.

Error when creating ZIP file (return value 2 when IGS was called)

I attempted to Schedule a Query to the Portal folders and executes fine. However when it's scheduled to and email, I am getting this message

Igs internal server error 500

Hi all,
i try to configure the IGS on NW2004s. it is a local installation and when i try to see if the IGS is installed via url http://localhost:40180/ i get the http 500 error.
am I wrong that, igs is included in NW2004s installation and already running?

Hi Rene,
the issue you are describing is explained in note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/959358">959358</a>. This note also solves the issue. For 04s you must specify the profile parameter and restart the system (for more info see the note).

Hello to all, I have a problem when visualizing the graphics of the reports in BW 3.5 (WAD)
the connection RFC IGS_RFC_DEST has never worked however me same the graphics are visualized, but now I am not able to make that the graphics appear in the WEB.

IGS - Program Not Registered

Experts,
I am unable to get connection to IGS.<SID>. I get the following error - "Program IGS.<SID> Not Registered. Secondly When I try to execute SIGS it prompts me "could not reach IGS".
I am able to register with "Rfcexec" successfully, so that i can check via sigw and see that IGS.<SID> is registerd.
But still, when i try to test the connection via sm59 for IGS_RFC_DEST it prompts me the same error.
Any valuable suggestions/comments.

it depends on your SAP version. do you see IGS in SAPMMC? if not ,this means that it is standalone and can be shutdown/started with Windows services.

Program IGS. SID not registered in IGS_RFC_DEST

I want to enable Internet graphics display for my BW system for which i have already installed IGS on my system and created RFC Destination as IGS_RFC_DEST and entered relevant parameters. When I test this RFC connection, the following error message is displayed:

The IGS is up and running including the PORTWATCHERS and the HTTP port. I tested it out using the http://IGSHOST:LISTENERHTTPPORT. I can see entries under the headings REGISTERED_PORTWATCHERS and REGISTERED_INTERPRETERS.
The program I am using in the RFC connection is the same I have given in "igs.xml" file in the ./conf directory.
Can someone tell me wt might be the possible cause of this error and how to rectify it?

Hi Abhi,
please make sure that the entry for the program ID in igs.xml must match exactly the one in IGS_RFC_DEST (case sensitive). As I guess that your IGS is integrated within Web AS make sure that the gateway host and gateway service in IGS_RFC_DEST are empty.
Please also refer to note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/454042">454042</a>.
