IGS not starting up

Hi,
Have searched for the threads for IGS starting but couldnt find it helpful.Could anyone please help as to how to start IGS for BI 7.0 systems.

Hello,
try starting the IGS using the startigs scripts. If the script is not available, as it seems is your case, then move to the igs/bin directory and run:
- On Unix/Linux platforms:
"igswd_mt -mode=ALL -dir=.." (for IGS 6.40)
"igswd_mt -mode=profile pf=<path to the instance profile>" (for IGS >=7.00)
- On Windows platforms:
Go to the igs/bin directory and run:
"igswd.exe -mode=ALL -dir=.." (for IGS 6.40)
"igswd.exe -mode=profile pf=<path to the instance profile>" (for IGS >=
7.00)

Web AS - IGS not starting

Hi SDN,
 I am installing SAP R/3 Enterprise ABAP + Java Add In on Windows & Oracle as Database.
 The ABAP engine installation went smoothly but when I tried to install J2ee engine (Central Services Instance) the J2EE engine did not start which is the last step during the installation process & I got the following error "SAP Basis System: Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10053) & SAP Basis System: Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10054)".Therefore I tried to uninstall only the Central Services Instance & tried to reinstall it.
 But now I am facing a new problem, the IGS Watchdog in the Central Instance which was running smoothly is not starting up now & the error message recorded on the Syslog is the same as above.
 Do I need to re-install the whole thing again or is there some way that I can resolve this.

IGS Watchdog not starting

Hi,
I have Solution Manager 3.2 installed on Win2000Server/MSSQLServer. It was working fine. I restarted the server and now the Process 'igswd.exe ' IGS Watchdog is not starting up. On rightclicking, the developer trace is not opening up.
Please Advise how to resolve/investigate the issue.

First refer OSS note 824281
Did you do a kernel upgrade , if so then please check all binaries related to igs is located under /sapmn/<SID>/exe/
Once i faced the same error and after i realized I have properly copied IGS binaries into kernel directory.

SAP R/3 Installation : Dispatcher not starting up.

 I'm trying to Install SAP R/3 Enterprise ABAP on Windows: Oracle. Central Instance, Database Instance & Gateway Instance Installation went smoothly without any problems.
 But when I tried to start the SAP system the Dispatcher is not starting.

 From the above log, it says that there is problem in database connection. But I am not able to figure out where the problem lies & what are the changes that needs to be done.

IGSWD.exe Service not started

Hi friends
I was install the SAP 4.7 EE it was completed succsfully but after completion at 1st time all the services are started Like message server, Dispatcher and igswd.
But after restarting the server igswd service was not started can u help for me why this is not started and how to solve this problem

I was having the same issue and saw all of your notes. I searched for "igs watchdog" on this forum and found a solution that worked for us. The note she references (824281) had text that we copied and pasted into our startup profile.

Per my understanding that you can't get the expect result by using the expression "=Count(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4) " to count the the TICKET_STATUS which value is 4, the result will returns the count of all the TICKET_STATUS values(206)
but not 180, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, the issue caused by you are using the count() function in the incorrect way, please modify the expression as below and have a test:
=COUNT(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4 ,1,Nothing))
or
=SUM(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS=4,1,0))

Please provide more details like: Server OS, Java version, and what type of database you are using for the FM Server. Have you considered using a newer version of FM Server?

Can not start Enterprise Manager web page

I can not start Enterprise Manager web page.
Here is my steps:
1. Start enterprise manager
emctl start
Waiting for EM to initialize ...Started
2. Check status:
emctl status
EMD is up and running : 200 OK
3. Start the web page
http://myhost:1810/
4. get following error
"There was no response. The server could be down or is not responding"
System info:
Database: 8.1.7.2

Server OS: SunOS 5.8
My question is where is the log file of enterprise manager and what the problem is.

"can not start a job" issue in AWM

Hi ALL,
I am maintaining my cube from PLSQL with following options
1. buildtype = "BACKGROUND"
2. trackstatus = "true"
3. maxjobqueues = 3
i get following error when i see the "olapsys.xml_load_log" table
***Error Occured: Failed to Build(Refresh) DB_OWNER.MY_ANALYTICAL_WORKSPACE Analytic Workspace. Can not start a job.
Can anybody explain when and why this error occurs? I have wasted a lot of time searching for this issue, but have found no person facing such issue.

My database version is 10.2.0.4.0 and AWM version is also 10.2.0.3.0

This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
- We have an AW maintenance / refresh script or procedure that contains BuildType="BACKGROUND", so that the AW maintenance task will be sent to the Oracle Job queue.
- When we execute the AW maintenance / refresh script or procedure, we do not get any errors in the foreground, the script/procedure has been executed successfully.
- However when we look into the build/refresh log (see <Note 351688.1> for details) we see that the maintenance/refresh task failed with:
13:29:39 Failed to Submit a Job to Build(Refresh) Analytic Workspace <schema>.<AW Name>.
13:29:39 ***Error Occured in BUILD_DRIVER
- In the generated SQL trace for the session of the user who launches the AW build/refresh script or procedure, we see that ORA-27486 insufficient privileges error occurred at creation of the job.
We see from the relevant bit of the SQL trace that err=27486 occured while executing the #20 statement which is 'begin DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB ...', and the statement is parsed and tried to be executed as user having uid=91:

Cause
User who tries to create a job (executes DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB() procedure) does not have the sufficient privileges.
Solution
1. Identify the user under which the job is supposed to be created. This user is not necessarily the same as the user who launched AW build/refresh script or procedure. Get the corresponding username from one of the %_USERS views e.g. from ALL_USERS.
e.g.
SELECT user_id,username FROM all_users WHERE user_id=91;
2. Identify the system privileges currently assigned to the user by connecting as the user whom the privileges need to be determined, and execute:
SELECT * FROM SESSION_PRIVS ORDER BY PRIVILEGE;
3. Ensure that the CREATE JOB privilege is listed.
The CREATE JOB privilege can be granted in various ways to a user:
- via role OLAP_USER or via role OLAP_DBA (see view ROLE_SYS_PRIVS for what privs are assigned to a role):
GRANT OLAP_USER TO <username>;
- explicitly
GRANT CREATE JOB TO <username>;

System PI 7.11 will not start because of R3INLPGM error

Dear experts,
our PI 7.11 sap system will not start on the backup machine. We have two AS/400 machines using IBM iCluster.
On the source node the PI system starts without any problems. If we switch over to the target node,
the PI system will not start. Only the two subsystems R3_<instance> were started and the SAPSTRSVR jobs
ran under QUSRWRK.
In the pool files from SAPSTART we found the following errors:

Suggestions?

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
