  • IGS Patch

    Hello Guru's
I am new in sap Basis Admin and facing a problem that our igswd.exe service is not started in Development server, please any one guide me how to check the present IGS patch level in my development system.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gajendra

    Hai,
Please go through the SAP Notes 931900:
There are two ways in which you can call the IGS monitoring page:
Using the RFC listener: Start the relevant system and open transaction SA38 (or SE38). Start the GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN report and select the corresponding RFC destination. See also Note 995471.
Using the HTTP listener: Call the http://<IGS Host>:<IGS Port> page in the browser, for example: http://localhost:40080. See also Notes 965201 and 959358.
The version number is displayed on the initial page. The penultimate character is the patch level of the IGS. Click the status to go to the status page and check whether the patch level of REGISTERED_PORTWATCHER and REGISTERED_INTERPRETER matches the patch level on the initial page.
With older versions, the version information is not contained on the initial page. Only carry out the check on the status page here.
Also check SAP Note 718267 to apply patch to IGS.

    Hi,
Check this link which may help u:
    http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-basis/igs-upgrade-1455477
The installation/upgrade procedures for the integrated IGS are as follows:
    Integrated Version Installation
The integrated IGS is automatically installed with the SAP Web Application Server.
    Integrated Version Upgrade
You find the upgrade files for the integrated IGS version on the SAP Service Marketplace:
http://service.sap.com/swdc  ®  Download  ®  Support Packages and Patches ®  Entry by ApplicationGroup  ®  SAP Frontend Components ®  SAP IGS  ®  SAP IGS .
There, you find the IGS executables and libraries (igsexe_.sar) as well as the IGS folder structure (igshelper_.sar) containing among others font files.
With the upgrade files of the executables and libraries, proceed exactly like you would with kernel patches (for example, extract the Archive to the same location). More information about kernel patches can be found in the related note 19466 in the section Copying and Installing a Patch.
The upgrade files for the IGS folder structure must be extracted to the instance directory (DIR_INSTANCE). More information can be found in note 1028690.
After a restart of the Web AS the new IGS is up and running.
Information about finding out your IGS patch level is provided in note 931900.
For an upgrade of an integrated IGS please also check note 896400.

  • Patch upload problem

    Hello everybody,
After installing IDES, i had done the creating logical system, it create a request. after that i  have update the SPAM,  when i am trying to upload other patches then following message is displayed.
Phase RUN_SPAU_?: Infomrmation on objects modified in system
The systesm detemined that some of the objects contained in the support packages have been modified in your system. All in all, the following objects were found
0 Dictionary objects (to be adjusted in SPDD)
2 Repository objects (to be adjusted in SPAU)
To display these modified objects- and to get an idea of the likely effort required for the modification adjustment- start transaction SPAU by choosing ' call SPAU'. please notet that the preview made both kinds of objects are displyed. the actual modification adjustment of course will be performed in transaction SPDD or transaction SPAU depending of the object type.
    Note:
As you are importing the queue in the test scenario, you cannot make any changes or carry out a modification adjustment. you can only do this whn importing the queue in the standard scenario after the object have been imported successfully.
then anybody please suggest me how to solve this?
    thanks

    Hi,
Follow the steps provided below to upload the Bundle Patch 1 (BP1) successfully to Software Library.
    1. In the Cloud Control 12c console, navigate to Provisioning & Patching --> Saved Patches --> Upload
    2. Select Product Family: Oracle System Management Products
    3. Select Product: Enterprise Manger Base Platform
    4. Upload the Metadata XML file and patch zip file.
    5. Select upload. This should give the following success message:

  • IGS Config Problem: ListenerRfc::Abort - Help Please!

    Hello,
I've been working with getting IGS installed and working and can't figure out what's wrong. the install came back successful. I've gone through and fixed, and tested, my SM59 definitions. Gone through OSS and looked at the recommended notes, etc. (all the usual stuff). Now I'm getting desperate!)
Here's the message our app gets via the www query trying to get graphs:
"IGS: Error When Calling Up IGS (ListenerRfc: unknown error)"
Here's what I've done to date:
    1. re-installed it (on my BW C/I - same host - which is an ABAP instance ONLY)
    2. corrected the default SM59 defintions (set them to what's spec'd in the igs.xml file) and tested them out.
    3. manually started and stopped it
    4. In troubleshooting the MUX - here's what I get from the log mux_"sap-bid1.trc"
    [Thr 3342] Sat Dec 24 10:49:08 2005
    [Thr 3342] [ListenerRfc::Abort] Aborted
    [Thr 3342] [ListenerRfc::Cleanup] Cleaned up
[Thr 258] [ListenerRfc::DispatchRfc] returned with Abort()
Which tells me my ListenerRfc isn't "hearing" the request for graphics yes?
So how to I configure it - ListenerRfc - if that is indeed the problem?

Resolved - AFTER IGS patch 10 application, IGS was looking for gfwchart (versus gfwchart.tpl - see below)
Fixed it by renaming the file...
    sap-bid1:bidadm 10> more chart_11054d91098584_5.trc
    Can't find config file  /usr/sap/BID/DVEBMGS00/igs/conf/gfwchart
    sap-bid1:bidadm 11> cd /usr/sap/BID/DVEBMGS00/igs/conf/
    sap-bid1:bidadm 12> ls
    dev_sapstart  gfwchart.tpl  igs.xml       xmlchart.tpl

  • Load Patches into SW Library on OEM 12c

I have tried to upload serveral patches into OEM Cloud Control 12c software library.  Every patch I attempt to upload results in the same error:  Invalid Data - Fail to parse the patch metadata file of patch (patch #) uploaded.  Check if it is correct.  This is on off-line network where I download the patches from support and burn them to CD and air gap them to the offline network.  I have extracted the zip file on my local drive and specify "Upload from Local Host"
    Any clues?

What version of EM are you using?
The documentation for uploading patches to the software library can be found here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/em.121/e27046/pat_mosem_new.htm#BGGCFCBA
According to the doc, you do not need to unzip that patch as you mentioned. You simply specify the location of zip. Also, did you download the patch metadata and specify its location as well ( unless zip contains PatchSearch.xml as specified in doc )?
If this is a version prior to 12.1.0.3, make sure you have the latest available MOS plugin installed.
    Regards,
    Dave
