IH01 default screen variant for all users

Hi,
I want location hierarchy, equipment installed and BOM explosion checked in the transaction IH01 for all users. I can do this through a screen variant but the user will have to choose it every time he enters this transaction. Is there a way that the above fields default as checked everything a user enters the t-code? I looked for it in SPRO and could not find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if the variant you have created is the only one available then it will display to all the user,but the if some other variant is there with user name then it will be displayed for the user logged on .
only thing is don't authorize the user to create the variant
from SAP help:
Each user can also create their own selection screen. The selection screen defined by you is only then proposed by the system, if no individual selection screen has been defined for the user under their user name.
If you want to define an individual selection screen for each user, and the user-specific selection screen should be proposed automatically when the report is called up, the name of the report variant must begin with U_USERNAME.
Maintenance of selection variants
When you execute the function, you reach the initial screen with all the selection fields. There you can define the standard selection screen. This selection screen is then always proposed if no individual selection screen has been defined for the user under the name U_USERNAME.

How to configure default parental settings for all users (10.7)?

Hello,
I've made a silent installation of iTunes using MSI files and it works well.
I need to enable parental controls and configure it. Users must be preventing of changing these settings.
At the end of the iTunes installation I automatically created registry keys :

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2102 it is the procedure to set default parental settings for all users and to lock these settings.
When iTunes is first launched, parental settings are not set nor locked.
I use iTunes 64 bits on Windows 7 64 bits.
Where is the mistake?

Changing the default keyboard language for all users via command line

I have about 250 computers, that I set the wrong default language on.
I am hoping someone here can help me. I have 3 keyboard languages installed in my labs,
En-English (United States)
Fr-French (Canada)
En-English (Canada)
I'd like to make the Fr-French (Canada) the default keyboard language for all users that login I have tried the following xml but it's not working. I do not see the problem any help would be appreciated.
I tried to run it by doing this

Default a Variant to all Users

Hi Gurus,
Requirement: My company is setting up the new DC (Distribution centre). Users use transaction WA08 to create PO based on allocation table. Now we want to create separate PO for DC. There is a check box already available (WA08>Vendor Purchase Order Tab>Generate Separate PO for each (Distribution Centre).
Now we want to tick this check box for each and every user. Please note that we do not want to create a Z transaction for this purpose.
I think there is a way, where we can set a default variant and assigne that to each users so that when any user use transaction WA08, he doesn't need to tick the check box.
It would be a great help if some one please let me know the process to do that.

Thanks for your response.
I tried to first use this transaction and selected transaction variant tab, enter the name as ZWA08 and press the create
button which takes me to the wa08 screen where i could tick the required field and saved it.
This also generated a default screen variant like ZWA08_0281.
I also created a variant group ZVARGRP and assigned my user id to it.
When i click on the transaction button on this screen it give me message "Variant group ZVARGRP is not used in transactions".
Chandra, it would be a great help if you can kindly provide me to follow the steps as i am not able to do it.
May be i am not doing it in a proper sequence.
Please also let me know if i need to assign var group for each and every user one by one or is there a way to do it in one go.

Setting default printing presets for all users, esp. guest user

i want to set black/white, two sided printing as the default for all users (9 macs, 30 users on each).
i set up and save this preset as admin, and copy the files
com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
com.apple.print.custompresets.forprinter.nameofprinter.plist
from admin home/library/preferences to the other users preferences-folders.
but logging on to any of the other users, i still dont even get the new preset listed.
i tried entering cups, but there, only the printer setup is editable.
especially i would like to set the custom preset as default for the guest account, without being wiped every log off.
is there any alternative way to do this? i dont want to manually log in to the 300 accounts to change this.

You can do that for new users via a file user.js in the default template folder for new profiles.

I hope some one has found the solution for this problem we are experiencing in SAP Vendor Invoice Management 600:
For the Integrated Invoice Cockpit ( transaction /OPT/VIM_IIC ) we want to be able to define ONE global layout variant ( available for all users) that is available for all exceptions in the ICC. This so we only have to define and maintain one layout variant centrally.
However this seems not possible: we tried to do so with the transaction /OPT/VIM_EIIC_ADM but it appears that it is only possible to define global layout variants for each exception in the ICC separately ( which is a lot of maintenance work)
Is there a solution available for this ?

Urgent!! Default query template for all users.

Hi Guys,
How do I set the default template for queries for all users.
I saved the default template and did the setting settings>query on embed>use the default template. So the template eorked for me.
But when a different usre tried, the template did not load for him.
So is there a specific setting that can be done so that it apllies for all users.

Long Version: I'm configuring a semi-automated testing system using MDT2012 to install Windows 8 to multiple hardware configurations. I would like to be able to remove all of the
default applications except for the Desktop, and Internet Explorer. I would like to add applications such as the Command Prompt, and Notepad. Ideally, I would be able to group the tiles in various ways, capture the configuration, and push it to
all of the automatically generated accounts so that we get a standard layout when testing with a User Account, a Guest Account, and/or an Administrator account.
Windows 7 and Vista have both been working perfectly for over a year (with MDT2010), and I've managed to update them to work with MDT2012 without too much trouble. I've gotten all of the
custom configurations to work, through various means (some scripting, some unattended settings, some task sequence editing, some extensions for the MDT, etc.), however there is one remaining set of configurations that eludes me. The Start Screen.
So far, I have tried running a PowerShell script to perform the Remove-AppxProvisionedPackaged during the Audit-User phase, running sysprep /generalize, and capturing the system to a WIM (both
with, and without the CopyProfile setting), and I'm able to get most of the user settings, the exceptions being the Start Screen, and the default view of the various folders. I work around the latter by exporting/importing the Bags registry settings
into the default user account; however the former has completely eluded me. I have also tried configuring group policy settings; however those only work with the Enterprise edition (which isn't what our customers will be using, so changing the SKU isn't
an option).

- Change lock screen to all users: This can be done now via Group Policy due to an update (see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2787100/EN-US)
- Remove many of default Apps/icons on metro desktop: This is best scripted as part of your Image build process, but I agree that more granularity in GPO would be nice over "Hiding" default AppX packages.
- Design a custom theme and push it out to all machines: This has been possible since Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2. The below detail about the setting is from the Group Policy Settings Reference (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25250),

How can I set default toolbar layout for all users in my system?

Hi everybody! I am running a local ubuntu server at my office. I can set some defaults preferences (about:config) for all new users in the system by defining those prefs in the /etc/firefox/syspref.js.
Now, I want to define default toolbar layout in a similar way (maybe not needed but fun), to copy the toolbar layout for my user. Is there a general way to do that?

You can try to create a default template folder (defaults/profile) in the Firefox and place the file(s) in that folder for newly created profile.
The only way to customize an existing profile is to copy files directly to it.

How do I set the default audio output for all users

Here's the story. I have a Mac Pro in a classroom that is connected to the audio system via the digital (Toslink) output. The systems are bound to AD and OD with some minor management being performed via MCX (printers, login, etc...)
When a new user authenticates to the system the output defaults to the internal speakers not the Digital Out.
My assumption was that I could configure default 0 key in the com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist to AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,4:2, which is the digital output.
However it seems that new users are still generated with the Internal Speakers which is AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,2:0.
Is there somewhere else that I can configure that default such that all users will default to the Digital Out, AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,4:2? Or am I perhaps not configuring the SystemSettings plist correctly?
Most of these tasks were previously taken care of by another technician but he has left and I'm quickly trying to pickup the slack for configuration of our Macintosh environment.

Enforce default crosstab options for all users ?

Is there any way to set the default style to either inline or outline for crosstab for all Discoverer desktop clients (NOT Plus or Viewer)or does this have to be set individually by each user through his/her Options ?

I'm afraid you have to do this on each machine, however one can get smart and force the system to rest to a chosen style each time the user launches desktop.
You need to intercept the shortcut to the Discoverer Desktop executable and send it to a batch file instead. In the batch file you would have commands like this:

call c:\oracle\9ids\discoverer902\bin\dis51usr.exe
exit
The file reset.reg would be created using a normal text editor such as Notepad and would contain lines like this:
For an inline view:
REGEDIT4

"Axis Style"=dword:2
For an outline view:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORACLE\Discoverer 902\Crosstab]

Note: the command REGEDIT4 should be on the first line, then a blank line, then the line containing the command to set the Axis Style, and finally there should be one extra blank line. In the call to the registry editor the switch /s tells it to use a silent install. Remove this switch the system will prompt the user that the registry is about to be updated.

My default font size is set at 18px. Is this the default default font size for all users of ff 3.6+?

I was developing a site in ff when I noticed other browsers were rendering the font size smaller than in firefox. Upon investigation I discovered that my ff 3.6 default font was Adobe Caslon Pro Bold 18px.
I have never deliberately set this. My understanding was that all browsers default default font size was 16px.
Has ff default font size changed from 16px to 18px?

I have few questions regarding the jsr 168 stuff.
a) what versions of Bea portal do support the jsr 168 portlets it is it available for download todo some investigation.
b) This is an question related to preferences - For example Suppose user "A" publshes the portlet and another logged in user views the portlet he should see the same set of preferences or the defaults set by the user "A" . Some portals like Oracle portal achieve this by supporting a mode called Edit Defaults mode. How do i achieve this in a Portal which doesn't support edit defaults but it is JSR compliant. In other words the prefences set by the user "A" should be available to user "B" , how does i achieve this functionality in other portals. Note Edit defaults mode is an custom mode supported by the JSR 168 API it is not a mandatory mode like the Edit, View or Help .

Default WorkBook file extension for all users of BEx 7 in Offce 2007

We recently started using office 2007 with BEx 7.
However, many users still has Office 2003 installed.
I am looking to set the default file extension for all users to be .XLS.
I know that this option is available in Client level (Global Settings - Use XLS file format ) but I require that the checkbox will be automatically checked.
Is there a way to do it?

Yes, you can maintan them globally.
this can be done in registry under :   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\BEx\Analyzer.
   UseXLSFileFormat
   Type: String Value
   Value true or false
