Hi, I am a Java programmer in South Korea.
I have installed Tomcat 5.0 in Server and it works.
My job is to link Windows 2003 Server IIS 6.0 and Tomcat 5.0.
But I don't how how.
Kindly inform me how to link IIS 6.0 and Tomcat 5.0.

Dear All,
Thanks to Adam Krouskop's great guide (2003) i got IIS 6 and Tomcat 5 working together using the isapi connector. But.... IIS won't give anonymous access to my Tomcat web-apps.
When i go to http://localhost/jsp-examples it pops up a login window, when I enter my administrator username and password it will log me on and everything works fine. But how do i enable anonymous access??
This might not be best place to post this question but I know there's people out here who know. Thanks in advance.

This is probably way too late to help you out but I just ran into the same problem with IIS 6.0. The thing that is missing from the connector instructions is that it does not tell you to add the DLL as a web service extension. Here is how to do that after adding the ISAPI filter:
1) In the IIS manager, right-click on Web Service Extensions. Choose "Add a new Web service extension...".
2) Type in a meaninful name for the extension, like "tomcat".
3) Click the "Add" button.
4) Type the full pathname for the isapi_redirect.dll file or click "Browse" button to find it.
5) Check the "Set extension status to Allowed" checkbox.
6) Click "OK" to add the new extension. Verify by clicking on Web Service Extensions folder and seeing the new one in the right-hand pane.
7) Now go ahead and restart IIS as in the original instructions.

Configuring IIS to work with Tomcat - I can't find a good help document

Hello All,
I am relatively new with Java and I am just now trying to learn Tomcat and servlet technologies. I can get the servlets working on my personal computer, yet I cannot get it configured for the server. From all the forum posts and web sites I have researched, it is my understanding that there is a configuration process that needs to be done to allow IIS to request the Tomcat servlet. However, maybe I'm just plain dumb, but I can't understand all the how-to's that I have found.
I am assuming I DLed the appropiate .dll file and I placed it in Tomcat's bin folder.
But then I have to create a properties file? I have no clue how to do this.
I am still messing with the instructions, etc., but if anyone has any suggestions, or maybe a link to a dummie-fied How-to page, that would be extrememly helpful.
I am currently running IIS on a win2k server.

(btw, for people who are having trouble setting the environment variable, with win2k, I was trying to do it with DOS, and it did not work. However, using the control panel > system > I was able to do it and the setting "stuck")

No, you don't need Apache to make Tomcat work with ISS.
There's a Wrox book entitled "Professional Apache Tomcat" that has a chapter on how to mate Tomcat with IIS. It gives step-by-step instructions that I've followed successfully a number of times.
There are a few Tomcat books on the market now. I'd be surprised if they didn't address this. Go to Borders and pick one up. - MOD

Apache HTTP server and Tomcat integration using mod_jk

Hi, I'm trying to get Apache version 2 Server running with Tomcat 7 as the Java Servlet container (I'll be using Solr as the webapp next). Followed the instructions in the wiki articles Tomcat and Apache and Tomcat.
The applications work fine separately. It's only when I modify the httpd.conf files as instructed that I get this error when I restart httpd and tomcat. This problem seems identical to this topic although the user that posted it does't know how he fixed the problem.

The only bit that I didn't follow to the letter is the part where it says to set TOMCAT_JAVA_HOME=/opt/java \. I have it as
TOMCAT_JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk. No idea why it repeats that the java home is in the /opt directory.
I installed mod_jk from the AUR version 1.2.37-1.
Any idea what the problem is?

Can't SaveAs to My Favorites via IIS, but can via Tomcat

We've got BOE XI 3.1 installed on Windows Server 2003 SP2, with both IIS and Tomcat instances.
When a non-Admin user uses InfoView via IIS to view a report on a public folder that they don't have rights to save to, they can't save the report to their My Favorites folder. The same user can view and then save the same report to a public folder that they do have rights to save to, can copy and paste the same report to the My Favorites folder, and can view and then save the same report from the same folder to My Favorites using InfoView via Tomcat. The default Administrator can save to My Favorites on either web server.
One other curious detail is that when the user can't save to My Favorites, in the saveas dialog they don't see the default ~Webintelligence folder or any other sub-folders under My Favorites even tho they see them in the Documents List view.
Here's the pop-up error:
Save <-- pop-up window title
Internal Error: the value of parameter folderId is invalid. (Error: INF )
Does anyone have any ideas about the cause and resolution?

I opened a case with BO and the support rep believes it is a bug in the .NET version of InfoView. He has opened a ticket with the technical team who are still investigating and haven't gotten back to me yet. If you open another case it might help to get the issue resolved sooner

Install Apach web server and Tomcat

Is it possible to install Apach web server and Tomcat into Oracle Application Server?
If possible, which way is the best? People said that I would better install Apach web server and Tomcat in Redhat.

Tomcat is just a servlet engine. Oracle Application Server already includes a servlet engine. Apache is a default component too.

Get Error on AM 7.0 do SSO on MS IIS 6.0 and Apache 2.0x

I install AM 7.0/Sun Web 6.1 on Window (Java ES4). And I try to setup SSO between MS IIS 6.0 and Apache 2.0. I don't know how config in the AM by using amserver (web admin).
I already complete install Policy Agent for MS IIS and Apache 2.0 and both of web was protected.

Everytime I go to a search engine like Bing or Google and click on the link to a website, it sends me to the wrong page. I don't have this problem with Internet Explorer, so what can I do as far as fixing the problem on Firefox?

Communication problem between NetBeans and Tomcat

hi!
i got a quite mysterious problem. here is what happens:
- i start NetBeans 5.5.1 (the first time)
- i want to debug my JSF-Project, the Debugger starts
- After a few seconds the debugger waits for tomcat (it sais: "Waiting for Tomcat...") and tomcat starts
- Again after a few seconds the tomcat-debugger-output sais "Tomcat startet in 3333 ms".
okay.
when i enter http://localhost:8084/ in my browser i get the tomcat homepage, so the server has definitely started! But nothing happens in NetBeans and nothing happens with my project....
In the lower-right corner i see this blue working-bar that sais "deploying project" but nothing happens. The Project-Debugger-Output still sais "Waiting for Tomcat..." but nothing happens...
And after something around 3 minutes (i guess it's a timeout) i get the error "Starting of Tomcat failed." But is HAS started, i can login to the Administration-Area in my browser!
so i guess there is a communication problem between netbeans an tomcat. Netbeans waits for a message from tomcat but tomcat doesn't send it..or netbeans doesn't understand it.
But the story goes on:
When i press the debug-button a second time it takes only a few seconds till i get the message: "Tomcat server port 8084 already in use". OF COURSE! Because Tomcat has already startet and can't be stoped by NetBeans.
i'm trying to solve this problem for 4 days now, so i would be very happy if anyone has an idea where to start/continue the search...

As i wrote before, the same problem occured for me. I have found a solution which is : Go to tools menu and then select options . In the proxy info, select No Proxy.

Problem launching a jsp page with eclipse and tomcat

Hi,
I have just started using eclipse and tomcat for creating dynamic web pages. I tried to launch a jsp page after starting the tomcat server with the URL: http://locahost:8080/HelloWorld/, an error page was displayed as below:

Apache Tomcat/5.5.17
I didn't get any error at the console and when i just typed http://localhost, a pop up menu saying that the connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost.
I'm not sure what is the problem here. Could it be the permssion to the localhost is not granted by the system as the eclipse IDE is running using linux?

I use a user login "apache" to stop/start Apache and tomcat. Because never launching apache et tomcat as root.
But I have the following problem with apache (file error.log) :

Quit Safari completely, clear Safari and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. I share an itunes account with my daughter, didn't realize that updating to ios6 and the cloud would link our phones. This is a fiasco, anyone have any advice how to remedy?

I ran ios6 updates on my ipad and iphone, not knowing that using the icloud and sharing an itunes account with my daughter, would have our phones and my ipad now linked together. My contacts are gone (875 of them) and I have her contacts, and our text messages are now shared like a party line! Can anyone help me with this? What to do now, I don't want to sync or do anything to any device!!

iCloud is designed to be used by one user with all their devices "linked" together. Your daughter needs to have her own icloud account. Using one Apple ID for an iTunes account is a different situation, you can certainly share the account with your daughter. That way she can access purchased items without paying again.
If she already has another icloud account, and wants to set it up on her device, then go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. This only disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost on icloud. Then enter the account ID that she wants to use.
To create a new icloud account, go to

As for your lost contacts, they are gone. You only hope is if the contacts were also on your computer and (if gone now) you have made frequent backups of the computer (like using Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the contact files back to your computer.
