IIS 6 logs, ASP, Windows server 2003, access 2000

Hello all,
I have an asp page on my website that has been throwing some
500 errors. I
pulled the following out of the IIS 6 logs:
2008-02-19 19:58:05 POST /sssssssss_xxxxxxxxxxx.asp
|145|80020005|Type_mismatch. - 24.111.22.94 HTTP/1.1
Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322;+InfoPa
th.1) https://xxxxxx/xxxxxxxxxxxx.asp 500 471
Is the "145" the line in code that the error is coming from?
Thanks.

  • How to recover cleared event logs in windows server 2003 ?

    Hi All,
i accidentally cleared all of event logs in my server, is there any solution or other thing that can recover it ?
    thank you
    Best Regard, Lim Siaw Liang

pray hard that there will be no issues, and no one will look for the event logs.
Once it's cleared, and that's it.
Or if you have system restore checkpoints try it, shadow copy on your c drive could do something also.

  • Windows server 2003 not working after computer hard restart

Hello, the following problem did occure. I was logged to windows server 2003, working on it, when my pc suddenly frozen, so i had no other option, than to make a hard restart of my pc. From that time, when a log into the windows server, i can see the server
desktop, but i cannot click on anything. I am hearing just the clicking sound. When i minimalize it a maximalize it back, all i can see is a black screen.
Can anyone help me, how to solve this problem ?
    Thank you for your answers

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that Windows Server 2003 unable to start correctly.
You may try to restart the computer, when you see the message Please select the operating system to start, press the F8 . select the
Last Known Good Configuration, in order to start the computer by using the most recent settings that worked.
Or you may select Windows Advanced Option –> Safe Mode, check to see if this was caused by faulty drivers, programs, or services that start automatically.

  • Remotely login error on windows server 2003 using gemalto smart card

I am getting this error when trying to log on windows server 2003 remotely using smartcard. We have our own CA. We are able to successfully logon on windows server 2008 using same card.

    Hi,
Base on my research, Event 537 indicates that a logon attempt was made and rejected for some reason other than those covered by explicit audit records in this category.
Would you please provide more details?
Are there any related warnings and errors under Application Logs or System Logs?
By remotely login, do you mean logon via RDP?

  • Monitoring RT application on windows server 2003

    Hi,
I developed a simple realtime application using labview 7.1.1 on windows server 2003, I can run the application (in realtime mode) in labview development platform. However, after compiling the application into a startup execuable on the RT, I couldn't monitor it anymore.
I created a folder c:\ni-rt\startup , and tried to copy the startup executable (test1.exe) from RT (ni-rt\startup) to this folder and got a permission error, however, i logged in windows server 2003 as local administrator. I can copy other files into this folder, but not the executable "test1.exe".
our IT said "Startup" is a special folder in windows server 2003, and does not allow executables to be put inside it. I am not familiar with this O.S. Has anyone had similar problem? If so, did you get it resolved? and how?
    thanks,
    -Joe

    Joe,
If your application is running in Windows than it is not running in true realtime and you cannot make it a real-time startup executable.  In LabVIEW 8.0 and later you can create a debuggable executable, with which you can see the block diagram of an executable.  This Knowledge Base Article talks about how to automatically launch a VI at startup, which sounds like what you are looking for.  Here is a link to the Real Time Module for LabVIEW.

  • Crystal 8 Web Component Server ond Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6

I am trying to get Crystal 8 Web Component and Page Server to run on Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6. I have done the following:
Added the .cri and .rpt ISAPI extension mappings
    Have Cache ISAPI extentions selected
    Deselected "verify that file exists"
Aded the .cri and .rpt MIME types
    Added wcsinsapi.dll as a IIS 6.0 extension
The above resolved all HTTP 40x.x errors but when trying to access a report from IE I receive the following error:
Error: Could not connect to the Web Component Server.
The page server and web component server services are running and I do see the listen ports (6401, 6403) active.
I know this is old software but it works quite well under a Windows 2000 Server and other web postings indicate that it is possible to run Crystal 8 under WS2003 and IIS 6.
Does any one know of a white paper/support document that details how to run Crystal 8 under Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6?
Has any one done this successfully?
Any tips as to cause of the "Could Not Connect" problem would be greatly appreciated.

Well as it turns out it looks like it was just this server.
We tried everything, and I added those user accounts to full
permission for the Coldfusion folders and we just could not get it
to work. We tried it on another couple servers running 2003, and it
installed perfectly right out of the box with no other permissions
needed. And those servers were all running default configs with no
    other permissions done.
We still have no idea what was the problem, but at least for
now it seems to be this server. But I will tell you what, that II6
stuff seems to be a bit of a pain, we had major problems installing
new version of PHP with it too. Oh well, good luck to you
    too!

  • Access Denied to report file on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise

    Hi,
I have a deployment problem for which I am out of ideas. I have an ASP.NET web site deployed on a server running Windows Server 2003 R2, sp2.  It makes extensive use of Crystal Reports, including both displaying them and e-mailing them to specified recipients as PDF files. It all works great.
Now I need to port the web site to a different server, running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, sp1. The reports display fine as long as I am not trying to convert it to PDF for e-mailng. When it gets to the following line in my code:
    MemoryStream memStream = (MemoryStream)rptDoc.ExportToStream(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);
    It reports the following error:
Access denied.Error in File JobDetails {DC64A5D3-9DD7-4E4C-90F5-A08731409B29}.rpt:
Access to report file denied. Another program may be using it.
I finally got it to work by granting Modify permission to Everyone for the c:\Windows\Temp folder. Obviously this is not a good practice.  Granting Full Control  to the IUSR_servername account did not solve the problem on Windows Server Enterprise, although it did the trick on R2.
So the question is, which account needs which permission to the Temp folder to enable the PDF to get written?
    Thanks.
    Dan

What ever account the app is running under will need read / write permissions on the temp folder. Your working server should be a good place to look to see how the premissions were set there. The same will apply to any other server(?).

  • Access Denied when trying to add DP to Windows Server 2003

Hello. My environment is SCCM 2012 SP1. I have a Windows Server 2003 SP2 machine that I need to set a distribution point up on. I have all the prep work complete like IIS installed, local administrator, etc. I have also already setup 300 DPs successfully
on the same platform but for some reason this one is causing me problems. I have made sure that the secondary server I am setting the DP up from is in the local administrators group. However, I keep getting access denied errors. I have checked and can access
the ADMIN$ share on the machine. Any ideas what I am missing.

    Hi,
Have you tried to access  \\server.local.lab\ADMIN$\system32\inetsrv or copy E:\ConfigMgr12\bin\x64\..\i386\smsfileisapi.dll to

  • Accessing to Windows Server 2003 SP2 R2 32-bit from a Windows XP SP3 32-bit leaves a fork of the explorer and its children processes !!!

When I try to access to Windows Server 2003 SP2 R2 32-bit from a Windows XP SP3 32-bit and then closes the RDP from Windows XP (the client side), a fork of the explorer and its children processes will persist in the server side !!!
Take a look at the screenshot to understand:
    is this normal behavior !?
Thank you for your understanding ;)

    Hi,
I think this is normal behavior.
You just close the RDP from client side but not log off the server, right?

Yes, right I closed the RDP from client side, not log off the server.

  • Windows server 2008 R2 x64 Authentication failure while try to access Windows server 2003 R2

    Hello,
I try to access Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard from Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 standard using integrated windows authentication . And because my application tries to read SQL server i'm getting and error that user is not trusted. Then I tried to open a
simple shared folder on  2003 and none of the users is able to do it. Both servers are part of common workgroup in the same IP range. Using domain is not an option. Migrating 2003 to 2008 is not an option either. The specific DB provider I have to use
supports only windows authentication, so creating user into SQL server is not an option too. I have tested many applications and cases which requires/uses windows authentication and non of the manage to connect.
Any help is very welcome because things are urgent!

  • Can't access some clien'ts features after migration Windows Server 2003 - 2008R2

    Hi,
I have done migration of the domain controller from Windows Server 2003 to 2008R2. The old domain controller is set as a relay. After that, I have problems with the clients.
Now with the 2008R2, it is impossible to:
    -Explore targeted computer's disks.
    -All RPC features.
-The deployment by GPO is also impossible (Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070015 The device is not ready).
All of these features works well on the relay. I also can't shutdown a computer from a pc logged as Administrator.
I've got the problem on the 3 sites I've migrate.
    Thanks.

    > The old domain controller is set as a relay.
Please explain "relay" further. I never heard this label in terms of

  • Question about locking down IIS on an SCCM 2012 distribution point on a Windows Server 2003

Hello. My environment is SCCM 2012 SP1. I will be setting up several distribution points on Windows Server 2003 machines. This summer I have a project to configure SCCM to use our PKI infrastructure. Unfortunately, this will not be in place before I need
to set the Windows Server 2003 machines up as distribution points. I am not an IIS expert. When I set the DPs up, I am only 1)Installing IIS, 2)Enabling BITS extensions, and 3)Enabling WebDav. Is there anything I should do to ensure they are as secured as
    possible?

I would say that installing Windows Server 2003 is not "as secure as possible" due to it's end of support coming soon.
    http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/default.aspx?LN=en-us&p1=3198&x=10&y=12
And I would say that we need more information about your scenario to tell you how it is as secure "as possible". Since that would be shutoff at the bottom of the ocean. But that wouldn't be that useful server.
Im guessing that you will run these servers for internal
clients ONLY. And that you have a decent edge protection as well as physical protection. Then I would start by having the lastest secrutiy patches, running antivirus software and having the firewall turned ON. I would make sure that
only necessary logons would be possible and that the servers wouldn't cache any credentials. Typically a DP NEVER holds sensitive data so no real need to secure them more than that in a normal scenario if you ask me.
A final notice, this is a baseline
for a common scenario. You would need to scale and change that
in order to apply for your scenario.

  • Accessing Mac File Share from Windows Server 2003

I currently have a windows domain that has a few Mac OS x leopard servers on it. I can map a drive to the Mac share using windows XP and Windows Vista, but I cannot map the drive in Windows Server 2003. I have enabled the Windows Sharing on the Mac server, and enabled the Mac File Sharing on the Windows server, but the windows server does not find the Mac server. I can ping the Mac server by FQDN and IP, but when I go to map a drive to it I get the error:
The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred: An unexpected network error occurred.
I have also checked the Local Security Policies, and did not find anything that would cause the issue. Any ideas anyone?
