IIS as Content Server
Dear guys,
we are planning to bypass the Enterprise Portal and separating the content player in separate host and Content Repository in separate host. adding to that we are planning the Content Server by using IIS.
The operation speed of the Enterprise Portal is little slow. So we decided to use the IIS as Content Server
send me the link of the document or give me the idea for
separating the Content Player in separate host.
Configuration between Content Player and IIS ( as Content Server)

All that informations is available in the SAP Content Server installation guide in SAP Marketplace.

Plumtree - IIS and Content server - tomcat
Can you please let me know that I have installed the plumtree on IIS. Now I have to install Collaboration 3.01 and Content Server. But the content server and Collaboration can be installed on following servers
- Weblogic
- Tomcat
- Websphere
Then can you please let me know how do plumtree installed on IIS will interact with Content server and Collaboration. IS there any way. This is very critical please reply soon.------- Michael Bruce wrote on 7/14/04 7:41 AM -------Both Collab and content servers run on a Java server framework. That means that you have to have Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere running and hosting those applications. Portal server can run on IIS. Portal interacts with Collab (as well as content, workflow, your portlets, Lotus notes integration, and many more) through http. The Portal makes a request to collab for content. Collab receives that request and processes it. The results are returned (Response) to the portal and the portal renders them as needed.
To re-phrase, IIS do not interact with Collab or Content servers. Portal does, and it interacts using HTTP.
Please let us know if that answers your question.
Hope that helps,Michael [email protected]

SAP Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003, IIS 6, filesystem storage
Hello:
We have installed SAP Content Sever 6.40 on Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, and using the filesystem as storage, not SAPDB.
The installation goes without any issues and completes successfully, but the test URL http://<host>:<port>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo returns "The page cannot be displayed" and not the expected system info/status. We need to fix this before moving on to config in ERP, any suggestions into Content Server or IIS settings/configuration is appreciated.
We're using the standard install port 1090, and testing from a browser in the same host.
Regards,
EduardoAdditional information:
Looking in the event viewer under application, I see the following 2 errors:
1) The HTTP Filter DLL D:\Program Files\SAP\Content Server\ContentServer.dll failed to load. The data is the error.
Data: 0000: 0000007f
2) Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted.

Configure MaxDB Content Server Website in IIS 6.0
Dear All:
I need to know how can I configure content server website on IIS. Our company was working on standalone server 2003 with MaxDB 7.6. Now the server has been migrated into windows 2003 cluster with MaxDB 7.6 installed on the same cluster.
I tried to execute WebSiteManCS.exe from content server CD but i got the error "An error occured during the creation of the SAP Content Server website in IIS".
Could you please advise how can I resolve this issue? Also, I did not created IIS cluster on both content server nodes. Do I have to create it or is there any steps that I have to follow in this case?
Regards,
Ahmad YasinHi,
The installation of the content server creates the web site automatically.

Content Server 6.40 Presents a Save As dialog for ContentServer.dll file
hi All
we have installed successfully the content server 6.40 on a windows 2008 with iis 7 environment. The installation wen successfully with no errors. however when we run a test by calling the URL http://<server>:<port>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo URL, instead of getting a response, we are getting a save as file dialog to save the dll file. Also, after the installation, even with the install website tick checked, the website was not installed. we had to do the installation of the website manually for the port.
With content server 620 on windows 2000 this was never the case
if anywone has an idea on how to resolve the issue, please advice

The website should get created if all the roles in IIS 7.0 are installed. Therefore, please try to install the IIS 7.0 by selecting
all the roles followed by installation of the SAP Content Server. By doing so, websites should be created automatically.
In the IIS 7.0, all the roles are not selected during the installation by default. Please make sure all the below roles are included and IIS 7.0 is installed, as per the installation manual for the Content Server on Windows 2008:

How to install new instance on Stellent Content Server
Hi All,
I have installed Stellent Admin Server and Content Server with the instance name "idc".
Now I want to install one more content server "idc1" on same Admin server.
So is there any appropriate way to do this?
Please let me know.
Thanks & Regards,
Vishal ShahHi
You can do it but there is one very critical exception to do it depending on the Webserver that you are using :
1. Is you are using Sunone Webserver then you cannot install multiple instances of CS on the same webserver instance.
And if using IIS then the only thing that you need to do on the webserver front is to restart the Webserver after the second instance is installed so that the webserver picks up the config entries made for the second instance's install.
With Apache webserver you will have make the entry in the httpd.conf for the second instance as you had done for the first instance
Eg for this is :
This is my first instance:
LoadModule IdcApacheAuth "D:/oracle/ucm/cs2/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll"
IdcUserDB cs2 "D:/oracle/ucm/cs2/data/users/userdb.txt"
Alias /cs2 "D:/oracle/ucm/cs2/weblayout"
<Location /cs2>
Allow from all
Order allow,deny
DirectoryIndex portal.htm
IdcSecurity cs2
</Location>
This is my second instance:
LoadModule IdcApacheAuth D:/oracle/ucm/idc1/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll
IdcUserDB idc1 "D:/oracle/ucm/idc1/data/users/userdb.txt"
Alias /idc1 "D:/oracle/ucm/idc1/weblayout"
<Location /idc1>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
DirectoryIndex portal.htm
IdcSecurity idc1
</Location>
Hope this helps

Content Server 6.4 Windows Server 2008 R2 First Test Blank HTTP response
I have installed Content Server 6.4 with MaxDB 7.6 on a Windows 2008 Server r2 system as directed in the "installation guide for SAP Content Server for Windows 2008" at service.sap.com/contentserver -> Media Library
-> Literature. Whenever I test the installation (a CACHE server) with this command:
http://localhost:1095/Cache/CSProxyCache.dll?serverInfo
it sits for about 20 or 30 seconds and then simply returns a blank screen. If I refresh, it returns immedilately, again a blank screen. There is nothing produced in the IIS logs at C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1. I am at a loss.
FYI, I used the 50105790 DVD for the installation of Content Server and MaxDB.I have solved my problem. I initially started by installing the software, putting the databases online, and since I was only installing CACHE SERVER and not CONTENT SERVER, I never attempted to test the CONTENT SERVER URL. After many failures, I then also installed CONTENT SERVER, tested it, and it worked. I found that the database DID NOT have to be online for testing of CONTENT SERVER. That was where things went south. I assumed that the database did not have to be online for testing the CACHE SERVER HTTP URL as well and thus continued my future attempts without the database online. I finally found that with a combination of SAP NOTE 658442 in regards to giving the NETWORK SERVICE proper permissions (even though it says it is for CONTENT SERVER 6.3), plus making sure the databases are ONLINE, I had success.

Content Server Error: 407 Proxy Authorization Required
Hi Experts,
I am new to Content Server and have recently installed Content Server 6.40 with MaxDB 7.8 database on a Windows 2008 server.
The installation completed successfully and IIS server was configured as per guide. The Content server is running when checked through URL on server.
Next, we created a new repository with following details, but are facing "HTTP error: 407 Proxy Authorization Required" while testing the connection.
Settings in OAC0
Content Rep. A1
Document Area: ArchiveLink
Storage type: HTTP Content Server
Version no.: 0046
HTTP server: <IP of Windows server where CS is intalled>
Port Number 1090
HTTP Script ContentServer/ContentServer
Transfer drctry C:\temp
HTTP Port 1090 is open from SAP system(HP-UX) to Content Server(windows) and there is no firewall between the 2 servers, but we still see the error in OAC0 and CSADMIN. I also tried setting the security parameter to 0 in contentserver.ini file, but that didn't help either.
The content server was installed using administrator user.
Would appreciate your inputs on what am I missing?
Thanks.
Regards,
VarunHi Varun,
Please change Document Area: ArchiveLink .
Remove Archive link and change it to Document Management system ( DMS)
Check the results and post the output.

AbdulHello Trupti,
A) What is the version of your database?
Please update with output of the following commands:
more /etc/opt/sdb
id sdb
id sqddq1
ls -la /sapdb
ls -la /sapdb/DQ1
/sapdb/programs/bin/sdbregview -l
/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli db_enum
/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli inst_enum
ps -efe | grep kernel
ps -efe | grep vserver
B) Please run the following command as root:
/sapdb/programs/bin/sdbverify
& post the results.
C) Please see the documentation at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/maxdb
-> The Complete SAP MaxDB Documentation Set
-> SAP MaxDB 7.7 Library -> Tools : Database Manager CLI
-> Overview of All DBM Commands
It's recommended to use the db_stop DBM command if the db_offline DBM command has not been successful.
And db_stop will immediately end the database instance process & transfer the database instance to the OFFLINE operational state.

Content Server URL not working.Win2008-MAXDB 7.6.06.20-IIS7
Hello Experts,
I have installed Content Server 6.4 successfully on WIN2K8 with IIS7 and MAXDB 7.6.6.20
When i tried to access the content server url, i was prompted with a POP UP asking for download of ContentServer.dll.
I have strictly followed the installation guide -CONTENTSERVER on WIN 2008 and installed all the necessary roles mentioned in the installation guide.I have also checked the option - install website during my installtion.but still facing the issue while accessing content server URL.
While going through SDN forums, in some of the threads, it was mentioned that manual installation of content server website has resolved the issue.
Could any one please let me know the procedure to be followed for manual installation of content server website to the port manually.
Or
Kindly suggest the solution for this, if you have come across the similar issue.

Content server communication error
Hi,
In an integration scenario using XI we need to send a scanned invoice (image) to a content server.
Ideally, the call to the content server would be done directly from XI, however, the call to the content server requires query string arguments which is not supported by XIs HTTP adapter. Therefore the content is first sent to R/3 using proxy communication and then the actual HTTP call to the content server is handled by the R/3 system.
The content server is quite unstable which results in a vast amount of error messages as the communication to the content server is synchronous. We want XI to recover gracefully when stopping and restarting the content server for whatever reason.
The content server is version 6.30.0046 and runs on Win2000 Enterprise, IIS 5.0. Our R/3 system is 4.7 Enterprise, WAS 6.20, BASIS support package level 55 and PI_BASIS support package level 10.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? Did you come up with any good solutions?
