ILife'11 for Mac Book Air

Hi,
I purchased a Mac Book Air (Mid 2013) model recently and was hoping whether I am eligible for a free copy of the iLife'11 recently released by Apple. It was only a shortwhile back when I purchased it.
Please let me know if any other infiormation is needed.

Whart exactly are you having problems with?
Installing Boot Camp, manually updating the B.C. Drivers, Apple software update updating the drivers, or Windows Software updates?
You will or have a full Windows install. _ALL_ Microsoft Windows software is through Microsoft or 3rd partys. Apple just supplies the drivers for their hardware to be run in Windows.

Underneath the hardrive picture is a link for _Downloads_, it shows up as an error in my browser but when i put in "Boot Camp" in the "Search Downloads" bar I got a large list.

Hi! I just got my mac book air and I have a license key for microsoft office 2011 for mac. I downloaded the free trial so I could enter my license key but I can't use it because Mac won't let me open it. Can anyone tell me what to do?? thank you!!

Gatekeeper is preventing you to install Microsoft Office > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290
To install Office, you have two possibilities:
1. Open the installer as I told you on the first comment.
2. Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and set "Allow applications downloaded from" to "Anywhere"

USB Hub for Mac book air

I recently got a mac book air. And the problem i have is with the USB port. Since there is only one USB port i tried using a 4-port USB hub. Which is working fine on any other Microsoft laptop. ut wen i tried to use it with my mac air it doesnt seem to be working. The funny thing is my mouse is working fine if i connect it through this hub. but my external hard drives are not registering through the hub, but they work if i direct plug it into the port of the mac air. Please help. As i really need the hub for my mac air.

I have two USB hubs without a separate power supply. One is older (USB 1.1) and will drive an external hard drive, the newer hub (2.0) is more compact and will not support an external hard disk drive. I cannot find any listing of the power properties of the hubs themselves, or other hubs for sale, and so do not know which might work better. I suspect a non-powered hub is not ideal for an external hard disk drive.
My solution is to buy a small bluetooth mouse and forget about using a USB hub for a mouse and instead use the port mostly for a USB flash drive.

Yes. The Macbook Air will only pull the max Wattage from the adapter as it's supposed to.

Can I set up Internet access for Mac book air

I am able to set up wireless for my Mac book air but I am looking to set up internet (same as I have with my iPad). Is it possible?

Have you got Home Sharing set up (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819) ? i.e. he may be viewing the content from your computer, not on the actual iPad. If that is the case (which would explain to me him being able to access the videos via the iPod app), then the Restrictions settings that I've already mentioned should also work on that 'remote' content.
Edit : your last reply appeared whilst I was typing/checking this. And no, the Videos/iPod apps can't be passcode protected, you will need to go back into Restrictions and remove the restriction, or if the films are only on your computer and not on the iPad itself you could turn off home sharing on the iPad whilst he's playing the games : Settings > iPod and tap on your account id and/or password on the right under Home Sharing and delete it/ them (re-enter them when you want to re-enable it).

i am LF a hard case for my mac book air 11' that will keep my MBA safe in my schoolbag. i use my MBA ever day in college. was wondering if someone could tell me a good one cause there seems to be so much out there. thanks

I have both the Air and Mini, and 2 mac minis. I honestly cant decide between either of them,...my Mac Mini is the best desktop I have ever owned, however its purpose is almost totally different from that of my AIR, which is for travel, etc.
Since YOU are heading off to college and traveling, Id certainly get the AIR, between the two.
Both have the HIGHEST used resale value of any other laptop / desktop. Both are great choices.

Mac Book Air has a diffent keyboard layout and some of the shortcuts aren't applicable. Please rectify.

I understant that, but if I complain to Apple on the feedback, nothing will happen for a million years.
Here things are visible to the wide Apple Users and hopefully get sorted.
Apple representatives are welcome to reply and post that the shortkey list is updated to include all the diferent Apple Keyboards.

Is it common for mac book air chargers to fail?

I have mac book air and my charger just seemed to fail. The note book is not charging. I was wondering if this is a common problem with these smaller chargers. I also have Mac book pro with bigger charger which much older, but it never failed.

The wire that leads from the charger to the computer is thinner today than years ago so I think there are more charger failures due to fraying and cord breakage. As far as the charger itself goes it seems that if they last a year they'll last forever and that doesn't seem to have changed. (Where I work we have a large number of notebooks so I'm dealing with a pretty large sample set.)

How do i set permission for mac book air to use drop box?

I am trying to share photos with my son's mac book air. Each time he tries to access my Mac it says he doesnt have permission to access the Dropbox. I cant find out how to change this.
His Mac book air has Air drop but it seems that I don't have this facility.
I have tried exporting files to Mac book air and it looks like they have gone through but can't find them!
It is exasperating- I thought sharing files would be easy- have no hard wiring to do it with so does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

If your MBP has Lion installed then you have iCloud by updating to 10.7.2.
If you have a 2011 MBP then Lion should be pre-installed. If it is not then you can purchase and download it via the App Store if you have 10.6.6 or later installed. If you have older PPC-only applications such as Office 2004, then they will have to be upgraded because PPC-only applications will not run in Lion.
You can, however, add a second partition to your hard drive and install Lion on that partition. In this way you can keep your older applications and boot into Snow Leopard when you need to use them.

Capacity?
Speed?

Reliability?
HDD or SSD?
Desktop or portable?
Just about any USB external drive will function properly, with only a few exceptions. I would avoid the Toshiba Canvio using USB 3.0, as it has been the topic for numerous threads here wherein users have had problems using them with the MacBook Air.
My personal favorite external HDD right now is the Seagate GoFlex, as I can use them with the Thunderbolt adapter. But I have been eyeing the new LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt.
For super speed, I use a Crucial model M4, either using the Seagate Thunderbolt adapter, or I have some mounted in USB 3.0 housings.
