Hello,
I am trying to install the iLife Support Update. But it always shows me this Error Cannot Install -3001.
All Other Updates Work perfectly please help!

I SOLVED IT
Take Following Steps
Make A new Admin Account
Log in to the new admin account
intall the updates trough the internal system
log out
delete that account
THE UPDATES ARE INSTALLED

Cannot download Fallensword Helper Scripts. Getting "Script could not be installed Error: Failed to @require json2.js"

Hello, I did a drive eraser and reinstalled everything(to clean up computer), then when I got to reinstalling firefox I had a problem. I play a game called Fallensword. It has a script called Fallenswordhelper. So I installed GreaseMonkey, then when I tried to install scripts it said "Script could not be installed Error: Failed to @require json2.js". I have done this to my computer every year since I started using computers. I have never had this before. Please help me get a fix for this, for I google it and cannot find a answer.

I have uninstalled all Apple soft and tryed to reinstall itunes 10.5, but there is no help. I run win 7 64 on toshiba notebook

Open regedit using "run as administrator".
Go to the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInstallerUserDataS-1-5-1 8Components
...and selected the folder DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8
(there are three folders with very similar names A,B & C you want the first one)
Right click & choose Permissions
Click Advanced, and then the Owner tab
Type (not administrators) in current owners field and check the box to replace the owner on subcontainer and volumes
Apply settings and then click Permissions tab. Once again, add (not administrators) to the list of permission entries, then click edit and check all permission boxes. Also click the 2 bottom boxes concerning the inheritable permissions.
[Note: In my case I was a member of administrators and administrators was already set in all of the above settings - I've no idea why it needed to be set to my user rather than the administrator group, anyway it solved the problem for me]
Click OK
Now back on the main permissions tab, add in the user name window and then check full control and read checkboxes. Click OK.
On the menu bar click file > exit
But if u have the message pop up more then once then just make the permissions for the entier S-1-5-18Components folder

2012R2 Deployment with WDS yields Driver could not be installed error

Hi
I'm using WDS installed on a 2008R2 SP1 server. My boot image is from Windows 2012. When I deploy a Windows 2012
R2 image I recive an error dialog during setup that states "Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed." In checking the setupact.log file it appears as though setup can't find pkgmgr.exe.
If I use the boot image from 2012 R2 then it works fine. I want to continue using my existing boot image from 2012. Any thoughts on why this is failing?

The WinPE version is 4.0 in using boot image on Windows Server 2012, which does not support deploy Windows 8.1/2012 R2.
You should use WinPE 5.0 (from Windows Server 2012 R2) as you just tested.

NICI could not be installed error msg while pushing C32 4.91 SP1 upgrade

Hello.
I have a couple hundred W2K workstations running Client 32 4.9 SP2 with
ZENworks 3.2 SP3 client pieces (workstation manager, remote manager).
I am pushing Client 32 4.91 SP1 out to a few test computers via ZENworks
3.2 SP3. Users are "locked down" (are not Administrator equivalent nor
Power Users) or have Administrator equivalence) . Only 1 computer had a
problem thus far, which the user had Administrator equivalence. The error
message is as follows:
Window is labeled "NICI U.S./Worldwide (128 bit)":
"The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. The system
cannot find the path specified."
I clicked OK and another window appeared:
"There was an error installing Novell International Cryptographic
Infrastructure (NICI).
Error Code: "
Client 32 installs, but not completely because of this.
I verified that IKernel.exe existed under
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine\6\Intel 32", and had
the proper permissions (I compared against my workstation and the one that
failed).
I was able to run X:\C32491.SP1\WINNT\i386\nici\wcniciu0.exe (the network
path, or \\<my server>\SYS\Public\C32491.SP1\WINNT\i386\nici\wcni ciu0.exe)
(all objects have proper trustee assignments) and install NICI to the local
workstation fine as the admin-equivalent user.
Any clues for the error message and how to fix? I foresee more of these
issues if I roll this out - and that isn't good.

On new install of FF, loading gives 'The update could not be installed.'

When updating a previous version, I got the 'The update could not be installed' error.
I uninstalled FF and then installed FF v35.
Still have the issue. I looked and found problems with the parent.lock file - deleted any I could find. Same problem, error on restart
I found a note about cleaning out the old updates after an install. I dug around and found one at: c:\Users\smann\AppData\Local\Mozilla\updates. I cleaned it out and, low and behold, no error!
Then, I went into Help/About Firefox and checked for further updates.
The problem has returned.
What gives? How do I get FF to not complain. It appears to be working okay, but, it makes you wonder.

On a new setup I get error message "'could not activate this table (3001)''

I am busy setting up my new playbook and get an error message on the software update screen: "'could not activate this table (3001)'' please try changing your settings.
What settings am I meant to change?
There is a button for settings and when I press this, the playbook takes me back to the connect to WI-FI screen. The WI-FI screen shows that I am currently connected. When I click on hotspot setup, the screen comes back and says I am already connected to the internet.
Can anybody please assist me to complete my setup so that I can start using the playbook?

Trying to install iTunes on my Laptop, running windows 7 (64-bit), but whenever I reach the end of the install, it pops up with an error telling me:
"Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services"

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. After downloading Zotero (a plug in that is in theory custom-designed for firefox), I get an error message that says "zotero could not be installed because firefox could not modify the needed file". That's all the detail I have.

You get this error if you install an extension that needs to be unpacked in order to work properly, but this isn't happening. The default is to copy the file to the extensions folder and rename the file part to the ID of the extension.

You can try to set the extensions.alwaysUnpack pref(s) on the <b>about:config</b> page to true.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Server 2008 Pinter install error OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED (error 0x900f0214)

I downloaded the HP Universal printer driver for a LaserJet 4250dn network printer to our server running SERVER 2008 SP2.
I dowloaded the zipped executable files for both the PCL5 and PCL6 drivers to the desktop and ran the EXE to unzip the files. When I tried to run the INSTALL.EXE file (as an ADMINISTRATOR) for BOTH drivers, the following occurs:
Answer YES to EULA
Select TRADITIONAL MODE (or DYNAMIC MODE - it doesn't matter - neither one works)
Click INSTALL
Immediately I get the error OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED (error 0x900f0214)
Click OK
Click FINISH
This happens with both the PCL5 & PCL6 driver installations.
I activated FILE SHARING, PRINTER SHARING, and NETWORK DISCOVERY but did not solve the problem.
I was logged in as the Domain Administrator and the Local Admin also.
Any suggestions?

Acrobat v10x CS6 Installation: "Some items could not be installed and then Error 1301

Brand new MacBook Pro Retina 16GB, 512SSD, Mountain Lion.
I successfully installed all apps in CS6 Web and Design Premium EXCEPT... I had a warning on Acrobat install: "Some items could not be installed properly".
However, Acrobat 10.0.0 launches and runs fine. Then, I try to move on and upgrade to 10.1.4 (or even 10.0.1) and no matter whether I uninstall and reinstall, repair disk permissions, talk to Adobe support for four times now and let them try everything, I'm still getting Error 1301 "The update could not be applied because Adobe Acrobat application contents were modified since the original installation. I had them send me a hard copy of the CS6 Suite and reinstalled the entire suite. Again, ALL other apps run and upgrade perfectly EXCEPT Acrobat.
Now, support tells me to use the "Run Repair Acrobat Installation to replace missing files." from this advisory and call them back later (file:///Users/mbp/Desktop/extras/maccomputers/Errors%20and%20freezes%20%7C%20Adobe%20Rea der%20%7C%20Mac%20OS.webarchive).
Here's the latest hitch: There is no such: "Repair Acrobat Installation". I'm thinking they think there is and there isn't.

Thanks for the advice. Tried this and does not work. Exact same results. I really wonder if I am the only person with a MacBook Pro Retina with an 512GB SSD running Mountain Lion that has tried to install Acrobat 10.0.0. I think there is some conflict with Mac OS 10.8.2 that is hostile to the installation sequence Adobe created for Acrobat. I fear Adobe would rather I upgrade to Acrobat X1 than spend their time patching this.

Device Enrollment could not be installed due to an unexpected error

Hi I just installed OSX LION Server and want to enroll devices but I keep on getting the error : Device Enrollment could not be installed due to an unexpected error :
The profile “Device Enrollment (com.apple.ota."my-server-name-".private.bootstrap)” could not be installed due to an unexpected error.
My devices site is running properly, I can install Profiles but I cannot install any device, not even the mini I installed OSX Lion Server upon!
I already removed all certificates and keys for : ""my-server-name-".private" and recreated self signed certificates for SSL and code signing.
Any ideas?

So I just wasted half of a day on this, and at least for my own system I figured it out *without* doing a clean install.
1. First, check that you have opened the ports as suggested by others here.
2. If you've done that, then the problem may be a rogue entry in your DNS server setting. What that means is if you initially set up your server app with one name, then later switched it to a new one, the old name is still "hanging around" causing havoc. This was the problem. To fix, you can try the steps below. WARNING: this will wipe your open directory. Make a full backup! I'm not 100% sure that wiping your OD is necessary, but it worked for me. Turn off any services you're running.
3. Download the 10.7 server admin tools here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1419
4. Open up the WorkGroup manager, and select any network users you've created, then export them. You're backing them up because you're going to wipe your open directory.
5. Open Server Admin.app. Click on the reveal triangle for your server, and it will show an entry for "Open Directory". Click on that.
6. Click on the Settings gear in the top of the right panel.
7. Where it says Role: Open Directory Master, hit Change....
8. In the panel that pops up, hit "set up a standalone directory". It will warn you that it's going to wipe your server open directory data.
9. Now, on the left side of the same screen, select DNS, then hit the "zones" button on top.
10. Look for your old host name(s) there. Select any extra entries that have your old host names, and remove. DO NOT REMOVE your current name entry (the Primary Zone) or the reverse entry (Reverse Zone). If you remove those, you'll be totally hosed. Only remove redundant entries.
11. Back in the Server.app, go to the menu and select Manage -> Manage Network Accounts. It will ask you for some information as it sets up open directory again for you. Give it what it needs.
12. To re-import your saved account info, go to Manage -> Import Accounts From File. (I have not tried this step, but it *should* work. YMMV).
13. Now, go reactivate your profile manager, turn on device management. It should "think" for a bit while it churns through the new open directory data.
14. Now, it should work!!! (at least it does for me). I speculate that the name lookup was getting conflicting results from DNS, causing problems and confusion. This seems to have fixed it.
15. If that doesn't work, one other step I took (but it didn't seem to help by itself) was to wipe the device manager database. To do that, open a terminal and use
sudo /usr/share/devicemgr/backend/wipeDB.sh
WARNING: this will wipe any device info that you've set up. I don't think this is necessary, but might be used as a last ditch effort.
