IllegalStateException whit Frames using JSP

Hi friends!
I have a huge problem. I have 2 servlets and 2 JSPs, my first servlet (QueryServlet) forward normally. but in the second Servlet (PersDataServlet) not. appears an Exception like this: IllegalStateException: Cannot forward after response has been committed
here, attach the source of my two servlets and how i forward.
Query Servlet :--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
try{//obtendo la data del ResultSet y la paso al ResultBean
QueriesManager qm = new QueriesManager();
ResultSet rs = qm.obtenerBuscar(request.getParameter("valor"),Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("Criterio")),request.getParameter("stat"),request.getParameter("ubicFis"));
Collection beanList = new ArrayList();
while(rs.next()){
ResultBean rb = new ResultBean();
rb.setDni(rs.getString("cod_dni"));
rb.setNomCmpl(rs.getString("completo"));
rb.setCod_stat(rs.getString("cod_stat_pers"));
rb.setStatus(rs.getString("txt_status_pers"));
rb.setUbic(rs.getString("txt_ubicacion_fisica"));
beanList.add(rb);
ResultBean list = new ResultBean();
list.setBeanList(beanList);
//almacenar resultBean en el Request
request.setAttribute("resultBean",list);
catch(SQLException se){
System.out.println("Error al manipular el ResultBean, "+se);
try{
//redireccionar el request al JSP para mostrar
getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/resultado_busca.jsp").forward(request, response);
catch(IOException io){
System.out.println("Error al redireccionar el resultado, "+io);
PersDataServlet :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
try{
QueriesManager qm = new QueriesManager();
ResultSet rs = qm.obtenerPersona(request.getParameter("id"),request.getParameter("opt"));
rs.next();
//storingResultSet in the Request
request.setAttribute("per",rs);
catch(SQLException se){
System.out.println("Error al manipular el ResultSet, "+se);
try{
String req = request.getParameter("req")+"?stat="+request.getParameter("stat")+"&param="+request.getParameter("param");
//forwaring the request to the JSP
getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/"+req).forward(request, response);
catch(IOException io){
System.out.println("Error al redireccionar el resultado, "+io);
================================================================================
In both cases, the servlets implements SingleThreadModel, even without it crash anyway.
Please, help me.
ThaDark

In a servlet output is via the Writer or outputStream
Writer out = response.getWriter()
out.println("Hello World!");
In a JSP, any of the HTML (ie non JSP scriptlet code) is counted as output.
ie all the template HTML stuff, output from any custom tags, anything that writes to the output stream.
<html>
<body>
All of this stuff counts as being output
<%
// This stuff here does not, because we are just executing java code
String s = request.getParameter("testParam");
%>Basically - anything that shows up on your HTML page at the end of the day is "output"
When you forward a page, any output already buffered has to be cleared, for the new page to send the response fully.
If you output more than the buffer of the page, or the buffer gets flushed, then you can't cancel the output, and it is invalid to forward (Illegal State Exception)
Does that clear things up?

  • Create frames using JSP tags

    I am trying to create two frames in my JSP page . However it just displays a blank page on execution.
    I am using following code to create frames:
    <hbj:content id="myContext" >
          <hbj:document>
         <hbj:documentHead>
         <frameset cols="100,*" border=1 frameborder="1">

                     <frame name="frame2"

                </frameset>
         <hbj:documentHead>
        </hbj:document>
    </hbj:content>
    Thanks

    Neeti,
       Just get rid of JSP tags and put the frameset html on jsp page. It should work without JSP tags.
    <html>
    <frameset cols="100,*" border=1 frameborder="1">
    <frame name="frame1"
    src ="http://www.yahoo.com">
    <frame name="frame2"

    </frameset>

  • Can we use frames and jsps together..

    Is it good to use frames with jsps.performence wise..bcos when iam calling jsps in frames it taking more time..to laod..
    regards,

    Remember, 2 frames == 2 HTTP requests. 3 frames == 3 requests, etc.
    It will take longer of course. To think otherwise is crazy. However there are times when the benefits are there. I've used them, expecially if it's a situation where taking a little longer on the initial load makes all other accesses faster. This is particularly the case when I've got a fancy UI that uses lots of graphics. I don't need to load the graphics more than once so I put them in separate frames and only have one frame (which is mostly text) change content.

  • How to define target window when redirecting within frames using servlet?

    Howdy:
    Is there a way to define target window when redirecting within frames using servlets?
    How to do it in JSP as well?

    Your servlet (or JSP) can't decide where it is going to be displayed. The browser has already decided that when it makes the request to your servlet.

  • Spry menu hover in IE: How to get rid of white frame & "false"?

    Hi--
    I'm encountering an IE issue with a Spry vertical menu bar. When the user hovers over the submenu, white frames appear behind the submenu with the word "false" in them. Of course this doesn't happen in Safari or Firefox.
    I was able to fix other similar problems with the menu by following tips posted on another forum. Namely, in the CSS, I disabled an IE hack that caused a white background to appear (menu background has to be transparent on this site). And in the JS, I disabled the following: this.removeIframeLayer(menu);
    Here's the URL: http://www.qic-ec.org
    Below are the css (1) and js (2).
    Any help would be DEEPLY appreciated.

    SpryMenuBar.js
    This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar.  You should have no need
    to edit this file.  Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
    used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
    menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
    showing that submenu until the timer fires.

    Oh, sorry, after I updated to 1.6.1 and uploaded the new code, I didn't post it here. Here it is (minus intro comments)--and it's still not working in IE (though I am testing on an older PC with IE 6). The problem only arises upon hovering.
    THANKS

  • How can I display a confirm box using JSP?

    Dear All,
    I am new to the Java language; please help!
    What I'd like to do is to prompt the user, within a loop, to click OK to continue the loop or CANCEL to exit the loop. I've tried to use JavaScript in conjunction w/ Form submittion to handle the parameter passing ('true'/'false') of the confirm box to a JSP. Yet, every form submission will cause the JSP page to re-load from the top which is the incident I'd like to avoid.
    Is there anyway I can have a confirm box written using JSP? Please help!!
    Thanks,Wing.

    if you do any modifications in the jsp page the whole page will be refreshed to show the latest result after modification.
    if you dont want the whole page to be refreshed
    you can pass the control to another page after the confirm box or you can use frames to your interest.

  • File download using jsp

    I am trying to download a file from the server using jsp but it always shows the file in the browser.I want a Save/Open dialog box to allow the user to save this file in the local system. any feedback is welcome.
    thanks in advance
    vinod

    Basically out frame work is in struts.........
    In struts for file down load I wrote the code as
    String fileName = <file name>;
    String filePath = <file path>;
    String fileType = fileName.substring(dotIndex+1,fileName.length());
    ServletOutputStream out = httpservletresponse.getOutputStream();

  • Cross-dissolve from white frame to adjustment layer no longer works in CC 2014

    Windows 7, Premiere Pro CC 2014
    I have a video clip in a nested sequence on V1 and an adjustment layer on V2.
    I want to dissolve from a white frame to the clip using the adjustment layer.
    In PP CC (not 2014) this was simple:
    Starting with a white PNG graphic on V2, cross-dissolve to the adjustment layer.
    However, in PP CC 2014, this causes a dissolve to BLACK over the duration of the dissolve and then a CUT to the video.
    This behavior in CC 2014 is illogical. Why has it changed?
    There are other ways to do this, but this one was quick and easy, and is required for hundreds of clips in existing sequences / projects.
    Response from support via live chat:
    thank you for your patience
    the adjustment is layer is not functioning properly
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en
    please mention it in the feature/bug request form

    For me with a color matte it shows exactly the same behavior as with a PNG.
    You're dissolving between the matte and the adjustment layer on V2?

  • Using JSP include function

    Using JSP include function + collapse/expand table
    (1) I've got a page A (A.jsp) and a page B (B.jsp) which includes 3 files : the header (head.html) and the side panel of icons (icons.jsp) are the same files for both A.jsp and B.jsp
    but the 3rd file containing the contents, are different for A and B
    (2) icons.jsp
    This is what the side panel of icons is suppose to do. E.g. click on icon1, its submenu will appear and the 3rd file is suppose to link to e.g. A.jsp
    When click on icon2, icon1's submenu will collapse and icon2's submenu will expand and the 3rd file is suppose to link to B.jsp
    The expand/collapse function is written in javascript
    (3) Problem : e.g. when i click on icon1, its submenu wont remain expanded, when it changes to another page, icon1's submenu will collapse back, even though the other page includes the icons.jsp too.
    Hence, i've decided to pass a parameter using JSP to achieve the desired effect. as a result, i include the icons file like this
    <%@ include file="icons.jsp?item=icon1" %>, but the icons.jsp file isnt included into the page at all.
    Is the above include file method possible? And is it possible to use JSP to achieve the effect i've stated?
    Thanx

    sounds more like a html problem.
    Do you have a target with the <a href> of your icons? Sounds like the icon page is being refreshed as well.
    <html>
    <frameset .....>
    <frame src=header.jsp name=head>
    <frameset name=bottom>
    <frame src=icons.jsp name=navigate>
    <frame src=dummy.jsp name=content>
    </frameset>
    </frameset>
    try <img src=niceIcon1.gif>

  • White frames on black background?

    When texts and images on my web page are loading there are white frames visible against my black background. If they need to be there, can I change them to black maybe? My webpage is www.carlsonahnell.se. Thanks!

    Just to reinforce what Kyn as already alluded to, the behavior that you mention is a function of the browser as it renders the page...and it stands to be different with different browsers. I just looked at your pages from a PC using FireFox...and all I get is black background with outlines where the images are loading...no white frames! I can see how it would look more distracting with the white frames, though.
    I don't think this is a property that can be set in the browser...except to tell it to wait for everything to download before displaying the page...that doesn't sound like a fun option.

  • Remove White Space in JSP in Websphere 5.1

    I am look for a way to remove all the white spaces generated in all the jsp pages. Since I am not using Jsp 2.1, <%@ page trimDirectiveWhitespaces="true" %> doesn't work. Please help.

    You could do it via a servlet filter that applies itself on every response...
    Check out this link: [http://www.theserverside.com/discussions/thread.tss?thread_id=38852]
    It has a couple of potential solutions.

  • Can I remove/adjust the white frame surrounding images in finder?

    I find the large white frames surrounding image files in the finder and on desktop bulky and annoying. Can this be changed/minimalised/removed in preferences or any other way?

    I've taken some screenshots so I can show what I'm talking about.
    LEFT: How images used to look when sitting on my desktop.
    RIGHT: How images on the desktop look in Mountain Lion.
    And here are what images look like in the finder in icon view:
    TOP: Images in the finder, old version.
    BOTTOM: Images in the finder in Mountain Lion.
    I want to get rid of those white borders. Or at least get them down to one pixel or something.

  • HELP!!  White frame where Flash movies should be!!!

    Can't figure a single reason why this is doing what it's
    doing. Everything works fine before I create the projector.....but
    once I launch it and test, all my Flash movies are just white
    frames of the same size as the movies are supposed to be. No sound
    or anything. Does the same thing on the Mac or PC side. I've tried
    checking and unchecking DTS, etc. but I can't figure this one out.
    My project is due TODAY....first time I've had this problem
    before, ever.....HELP!!!

    I thought about that (actually made that mistake with the
    Buddy API Xtra), but I just now got it to work....seems as though
    it doesn't like talking to a shared drive space between my Windows
    and Mac partitions, even though it'll play just fine within
    Director while I'm working on the project. I copied everything
    over, all the directories, etc. to my Windows side, created a test
    projector from there, and voila!
    Thanks for the suggestion; I used to make that Xtra mistake a
    LOT.

  • White iPad users: is the white frame distracting?

    I love the look of the white iPad but I'm just wondering, when you are watching video, particularly in a dim environment, is the white frame around the screen distracting? I'm thinking maybe it makes more sense to have a black screen just for visual comfort....?

    "The white bezel looks good, aesthetically — very similar to the infamous white iPhone 4s that I played with after last year’s WWDC keynote. But, I found the white bezel distracting. With the black, the frame disappears from mind when you’re using the iPad. With the white, it always seemed like I was looking at a white frame around the screen. There’s a reason why movies are letterboxed with black bars, not white ones, and why most TVs are framed by black." (Source)

  • White frame in JPG export

    If I choose at AI, the export, to jpg option, and tick the use artboards option, the exported jpg will get a rather thick white frame.
    The document has no stroke, if i export without the use artboard option there is no problem.... any suggestion?

    What are the contents of your artwork? Is there a background with stroke applied? Please explain a bit more about the artwork so that I can suggest something.
