Illistrator CS6 Not Enough Room For The Window Error; Windows 7 64 bit

Illistrator CS6 Not Enough Room For The Window Error; Windows 7 64-bit
Recieved the same error on files under 2mb; was able to resolve by MAXIMIZING Illistrator window prior to opening file. If that failed, issue was resolved by closing app, removing settings folder from AppData\Adobe and restarting Illistrator. Now, any file over 15mb is unable to open even when attempting the above steps. Also uninstallled and reinstalled app with same results.
Please advise.

Hi this has happened to me as well. I have been using a file for weeks and this morning I got this message "there is not enough room for the window".
Can someone help me/us? would this be a bug in Illustrator. I have never gottten this error before...
Thank you so much.

  • Can't open the illustrator. There is not enough room for the window.

    hello all,
I've seen this asked before. But no real solution has been found.
I'm working with both Ps and Ai and A LOT of Ai files embedded in Ps (smart objects). Don't ask
The problem is that whenever I want to open a smart object illustrator shrinks to tiny size and that message pops up (Can't open the illustrator. There is not enough room for the window. etc etc). That happens mostly when the illustrator is already open.
There has to be a solution other than deleting the preference folder (have too many other preferences there that I do not want to set up again, like color prefs etc) And btw, I've seen people saying the problem actually comes back fairly soon.
It's worth mentioning that it started slow - at first it was opening illy just half the maximized size.
Shift+Close (X on the top) that used to help with apps that do not want to open in a right size, is not helping. Only solution is to open (double click smart object) it once, shift+closing and opening it again.
That however is NOT helping the productivity. Luckily at the workshop I do have a very fast PC that opens illy in about second/ second and a half, but for one that I have at home I would hang myself before I could do some proper work.
    Adobe tech support has nothing.
REALLY? This aint a freeware to have this type of flaw for YEARS from what I read (at least since CS4)
    Really frustrated here.

Thank you for pointing me to that thread. I've seen it and:
    1. problem described is different
    2. not a single permanent fix (I mean cmon, 'resize the window by draggin it bigger' or 'alt+O to open') Not looking for ECDL type of help.
Also, as I mentioned in my first post, thrashing settings folder is not an option.
It's an expensive product and it has to have a proper fix. Am I not in the right place?

  • Can't open the illustration.  There is not enough room for the window.  Increase document area and try again?

When i double click on a file in AI (CS6) I get the message:  Can't open the illustration.  There is not enough room for the window.  Increase document are and try again

We can't know. We know nothing about your system nor your documents since you haven't told us.

  • Can't Open the Illustration. There is not enough room for the window;

This is more of a nusance than an actual problem. But, when I double click on an AI document to open it the Illustrator window will shrink down to what is in the attached image and throw an error. The error reads "Can't open the Illustration. There is not enough room for the window; increase document area and try again."
I can drag and drop the file into Illustrator and file>open of course, but the double-click method isn't working.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 issue or an Illustrator issue.

dual monitors. And i'm on windows so the application frame cannot be toggled.
I was able to fix it. Detached the application and then resized the scrunched window. that seems to have done the trick. Weird since I had never squeezed it all the way down like that.
thanks! Didn't know about the preferences reset.

  • Getting " Not enough memory for the operation error " in BOE

    Hi,
    We are using BOE 11.0.
we try to schedule a new report with multiple database logins for testing in BOE. When we run the report we are getting error like "Not enough memory for the operation error"
The same report has been executed successfully when we run using Crystal reports developer. The report is fectching less than 10K records from all the databases together.
Please let me know which is causing the issue and also let me know is there any limit in the number of databases connecting for a single report.
many thanks in advance for all your help.
    Cheers,
    Suri ;-)

    Hi Sarthan,
Sorry. I'm new to BOE. We know only scheduling the reports creating folders etc. :-)
I've seen one parameter "Maximum Cache Size Allowed (KBytes)" and the value for this parameter is 5000.
If we change it to a big number whether we can solve the issue ? Please suggest.
    Cheers,
    Suri ;-)

  • Can't open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window; increase document area and try

    Hi there,
Running Illustrator CS6 on a PC. Everytime I try to open a illustrator file from windows explorer the error written in the subject line come up. I resize the illustrator window to full screen, however upon opening the file again, the window shrinks and the same error comes up. I am still able to open files if I go file>open in the illustrator menu....
this is just a minor annoyance and want a solution to this problem please?

    Hi Ben,
Have updated Illustrator yet? I would suggest to first reset the preferences to see if that helps. Are you using a dual monitor display or any 3rd party plugins?

  • Imovie 11 Can't Export Movies NOT ENOUGH ROOM IN THE HEAP ZONE!

I have plenty of space on my hard drive, no other programs are running, and the video being exported is only 6 minutes and 57 seconds long.
I am working on a short film and 90% of the time that I try and export it in 720 I get an error, because there is not enough room in the heap zone. Then after I restart the computer if I am lucky I can get it to export 1 out of 10 trys. It has nothing to do with the title I give the video.
I need the video exported in 1080, but it gives me the same error EVERY TIME! Even when I export to quicktime and use various settings I keep getting the same heap zone error. What is the deal!?! I have exported an hour long documentary and didn't have this problem. I erased all my previous projects and events and still I get this error
    UNABLE TO EXPORT MOVIE
The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (Not enough room in the heap zone /)
    HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

I have the same problem when trying to export a 720P movie to iTunes.  Reboot did not help nor did renaming the project.  I have an older MacPro with dual 3.0s, 11 Gb Ram and slightly less than 1Tb free space on the boot drive.  This is a software issue, not a hardware problem.  Apple please fix the myriad of problems with iMovie 11.   My productivity has ground to a halt with my 4 month old iLife Software.  How did this software ever pass muster!!!!!  I can't believe anyone would purchase the new version of Final Cut given the horrible product you've included with the last iLife Set.  This is an example of why I left the Microsoft Windows community.  SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!   I usually create 4 to 5 movies a month for the flying community I live in.  I have completed one since January, and it was a mess due to software glitches.   My attempt to re-render an old iMovie 9 creation has been met with failure.  I have projects backing up and really have no desire to finish them or create others as iMovie 11 is no longer fun since it is broken.   I'm tired of iPhoto 11 and iMovie crashing or not working and the reason for spending more on an Apple product no longer exists.  Outdated expensive hardware and buggy software.   Time to sell my APPL stock like Bob Mansfield,  You're ignoring your core supporters and are living off the hype of the iPhone/iPad.  The poor economy has allowed your "halo effect" to endure many recent short-comings - (Mobile Me (how slow and expensive can it be to stream a personal home movie - but don't worry you don't need Blu-Ray)), Mail (why do I keep getting duplicate emails in my drafts folder? and why is it always losing my password - just like Mail on my iPhone), Never providing a stable video card for 2006 Mac Pros, Crippled iPhone 4 for Verizon, no iPad Flash support, iLife Crapware)............where's the Tylenol!!!!!   I need it since I promised an iMovie project for a friend's memorial that I am now unable to deliver.

  • IMovie Exporting: "Not Enough Room In The Heap Zone"

Okay, I'm trying to export a video from iMovie '11 on OSX 10.8.4 on a Macbook Pro (without retina display). It is only 1:53.
Every time I try to export I get an error message:
"Unable to prepare project for publishing.
The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occured. (MemFullErr / iMemFullErr: Not enough room in the heap zone / )"
I have checked literally every forum post about this error and nothing has helped. I have over 700 GB of room on this computer, so there's enough memory for it to export for sure, and I'm not using special characters in the title. I'm trying to export in 720p. I exported a project 2 days ago (which was way longer than this one), in 720p, and it worked fine. I do not have time machine running.
It works when I export it in lower quality, but lower quality isn't good enough.
I've tried exporting it, exporting it with quicktime, publishing it to youtube, exporting it through the share menu, and renaming the project. Nothing is working.
I have not tried clearing the Cache yet, because I could not figure out how to do it. If you could explain how to clear the Cache in great detail, that would be awesome. (Also, if you have another solution, explain that as well.)
I am really frustrated with this problem.
If you could help me out, that would be amazing.
(Please do not link to another article, I've already looked at them all.)

    Trouble
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
    • iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
    • Creating a new User-Account and log into this - forces iMovie to create all pref. files new and error free
    • Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
    • a codec is used that doesn't work
    • problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
    • version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
    • preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
    • other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
    • External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
    • USB-flash-memories do not work
    • Net-work connected hard disks - do not work
    • iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie.
    This You do by
    _ close iPhoto
    _ on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
_ now select all five options presented
_ WAIT a long long time
    • free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
    • external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
    • GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
    • Screen must be set to million-colors
    • Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
    • Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
    • Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
    • Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
    • In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)
    buenrodri wrote
I solved the problem by removing the file: 3ivxVideoCodec.component. after that, up-dated iMovie runs ok.
Last resort: Trash all of iMovie and re-install it

  • I have an iPhone 5S, with iOS 8.1.2  I am trying to do a system restore but the message I get on the desktop is that there is not enough room on the iPhone. How much room is required?

I have an iPhone 5S, with iOS 8.1.2  I am trying to do a system restore but the message I get on the desktop is that there is not enough room on the iPhone. How much room is required?
I had an important app. (Memos by bluemarblesoftware.com) that I accidentally deleted. It of course had many memos, some with quite a lot of information. I did sync my phone on a regular basis and I think the memos should be on the desktop computer. I tried to do a restore function but I got a message saying there was not enough room on the iPhone. How much room is needed?

    generally you need 1.90gb
what you can do is back up your phone to your computer before doing the update, just as a precaution.

  • Trying to restore my iPhone 4s from a previous backup and I keep getting a message that says "not enough room on the iPhone". Help!

I am trying to restore my iPhone 4s settings from a previous backup and now I'm getting a "not enough room on the iPhone" message. This is very frustrating. How can I fix this?

If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, you will not be able to use that backup if you can't remember the encrypted backup passcode.
If on a Mac, & you elected to save the passcode to your Keychain, you can recover the passcode from your Keychain. Otherwise, your data is unrecoverable.
While you can continue to sync/backup, if you can't remember it & want to remove it, you'll have to delete your existing backups & restore the phone as a new device. Your data will be unrecoverable.
You delete your existing backups here: iTunes>Preferences>Devices.

  • Processing in imovie, not enough room in heap zone error

Hello, I am trying to process a 90 minute movie in imovie. I would like to process it in regular format and not high definition. Or if I have to process in high def, how do I create more space in my heap zone. The erroor message was processing in imovie, not enough room in heap zone error

I've never set it up since I purchased the computer. Time Machine is off. I'm extremely frustrated. I've tried to export to every possible place and I've tried to share to every option.

  • Time Machine failed because there is not enough room on the ext HD

Time Machine has been working great for a year or so, but just today I got an error message stating that it cannot backup because the ext HD hasn't enough available space.
I was under the impression that Time Machine deleted older backup content, to make room for the new? I deleted about 30GB of stuff on my internal HD, which provided enough room for this backup, but I'm anticipating the problem to reoccur.
What's up with this? Does Time Machine automatically delete old backup content to make room for the new, or what?

I'm starting to think that perhaps the smaller TM partition was overwhelmed by the amount of data it had to backup. I didn't realize how quickly the 2 partitions it was responsible for filled up.
Yes. I'm still unsure how much data, total, you're trying to backup, but your TM space is clearly filled-up now.
The usual "rule of thumb" is, TM needs 2-3 times the space of whatever it's backing up. But it actually depends almost entirely on how you use your Mac. If you change lots of big files very frequently, then even 3 times may not be enough. But if you're a light user, you might get by with 1.5 times.
And no, you shouldn't have to manually delete backups under ordinary circumstances. TM will manage it's backups and space for you, +if it can.+
If you haven't seen it, TM's procedure is to do hourly backups and keep them for 24 hours, except the first of the day, which it keeps for 30 days. After 30 days, it makes one per week into a weekly backup which it keeps for as long as it has room. If it can't keep to this schedule, it will fail and you must decide what to do.
This can happen, of course, if there just isn't enough room. It can also happen if you suddenly put a large amount of other data in it's partition (it does need a fair amount of free space to work with).
It can also happen if TM needs to do a full backup instead of an incremental, which happens if you don't let it do any backups for several days (10, I think); or after a full system restore; or after certain hardware is replaced.
TM also can get confused if you change, move, or delete things from it's backups via the Finder; use the TM interface instead. There, you can delete a whole backup, or all backups of a particular file, etc.
Ok good to know, is there a "best-practices" Apple tutorial for TM?
Not really. Apple help has some, as does this article and the links in it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1770 but, as with most apps, detailed documentation isn't available, not even a FAQ section.
If I have to manually remove old backups, I'm more likely to find a new backup solution.
You might have to, but then you lose the ability to recover a recent previous version of a file that got deleted or changed in error, or somehow corrupted.
Your best bet is more space for TM and/or less to back up. If you have some old data that rarely if ever gets changed, you might consider copying it to DVDs, then excluding it from TM.
And I hate to add to your woes, but do you have anything off-site? As great as external drives are, they may not protect you from fire, flood, theft, direct lightning strike on your power lines, etc.

  • Not enough room for iWork, please help new mac user!

I'm a college student in great need of a word processing application for my Powerbook G4. I just bought iWork for that reason and am stuck because I don't know how to get rid of the right things on the Hard drive to make enough room for it. It says it needs 74.4GB and only has 62.3GB free on the hard drive. Please let me know how I can free up space and get my homework done asap! Thanks, Caro

You should have a look at OmniGroup's OmniDiskSweeper application, which you can find here:
    http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnidisksweeper/
This application will analyse your hard disk usage and list all the files according to category (application, document, etc.) and size, thus making it easy to identify large and useless files. Note that this application is, technically speaking, not free, as you have to pay $15 to enable the delete button. However, if you've identified several large files which you'd like to delete, you can easily do that in the Finder, so from a practical point of view, DiskSweeper is free. Oh, one last suggestion: be careful when deleting stuff. Try avoiding deleting stuff that is on your system or library folders, UNLESS you really know what you are doing.

Pretty sure it doesn’t say there is not enough room in iTunes library because it is not backed up to the iTunes library.
    What is the exact message?
