Illlustrator CS6 Upgrade startup issues.

Every Time I start my new upgrade Illustrator CS6, a window pops up asking me to start a 30 day trial or enter my lic. number. Then I get a second popup requesting I start a second trial using the "cloud services. Why won't Adobe accept my lic. number once and for all? This is so annoying

  • Acrobat X Pro won't open not long after CS6 upgrade

I upgraded to CS6 from CS4 just before the new year. I have been having problems with my computer being slow and noticed after installation that the 2 previous versions I had were still installed (silly me thought upgrades would just override these haha). So i googled to see if i could uninstall them without it affecting the CS6 upgrade and it seemed i could. So i did. Everything seems to have been working ok with the exception of my psd and indd files icons no longer show - the files appear corrupted however they open fine.
This morning when i opened Acrobat, it opened the file then suddenly closed without explaination or error. I have not been able to open it since. I have restared 4 times (as this usually helps when a program will not open) as well as stopped the acrotray.exe from running on startup. When i googled this problem it appears I am not the only one who has experienced this difficulty. Does anyone have anything that has worked for them?

    Hi MSITSLAN,
The fix for this issue has already been rolled out via AAM update. Please launch Adobe Application Manager on your machine and update it. If you have already tried Solution 3 provided by Deepak and have updated AAM, this issue shouldn't come again. Alternatively, try Solution 2 and get rid of this issue quickly and permanently.
This hotfix was released in late October after we found out that most of our users were re-installing the application using DVD and were'nt able to update it. So we decided to provide it seperately. If you download and install CS6 from Adobe.com, the latest version of AAM is installed and that doesn't show this issue.
I suggest you to try Solution 2 and check if Exit Code 0 appears as a result. Do this on both the machines that you have. After applying the hotfix, if Acrobat is launched properly then you don't have to keep your fingers crossed for 30days.
Kindly feel free to post back the results.

  • Error message in Photoshop CS6 upgrade download

I just purchased the upgrade from Photoshop CS5 to CS6 as a download. I downloaded the download manager as instructed, and installed it. I then downloaded the CS6 upgrade. But when I went to install it, it asked for my serial number, which I (double-checked and) provided. It gave me a message saying that although it is a valid serial number, there is no product available that matches that serial number. I don't understand. Help?

You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

  • Preinstalled filters from CS5 not showing up in CS6 upgrade

I just installed CS6 upgrade from CS5 but the Nik and Topaz software filters are not showing up.  How do I get CS6 to recognize them without having to reinstall all of them again.

How do I get CS6 to recognize them without having to reinstall all of them again.
You don't. The behavior is as it always has been - Adobe apps never migrate legacy plug-ins and content to avoid compatibility issues. and you will probably need updated vertsions for CS6, anyway.

  • Photoshop CS6 Upgrade Does Not Recognize CS3 Extended as Qualifying Product

I am unable to install my Photoshop CS6 upgrade because the upgrade does not recognize a qualifying product on my system.  When asked, I enter my current Photoshop CS3 Extended serial number, but the upgrade does not recognize it as a valid serial number from a qualifying product.  I have tried to do a clean install to make sure no other applications were running or in conflict.  My operating system is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, Service Pack 3.  I have an Intel Core 2, Quad CPU @2.66 GHz with 4GB RAM.

SouthCityTim I would recommend contacting our support team so they can validate your upgrade path and serial number.  For the best assistance, I recommend our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.  Our chat representatives can provide a personalized experience to resolve the issue you have described.

  • Photoshop CS6 upgrade won't let me sign in.

Photoshop CS6 upgrade won't let me sign in.  When it's getting ready to download, after I put in my seriel number it asks me to sign in however when I push the button I get a window that says "Adobe Application Manager has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." and makes me close the program.

  • Unable to install Dreamweaver CS6 Upgrade ! from Hard Drive DUMP - Error : Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure

    Hello,
I am Unable to install Dreamweaver CS6 Upgrade  from CS4  from Hard Drive DUMP -

Note: I have installed Dreamweaver CS4 with serial number.and am trying to install upgrade over cs4.

  • Trying to reinstall my CS6 Upgrade

I have had my computer rfomatted and all software deleted in the process. I have been using CS5 extended for a few years now.  When I went back in to upload my recent purchase of CS6 Upgrade which I have been using for the past 3 months..it doesn't recognize my serial number to the upgrade.  Please let me know how this is possible... Thank you

I wonder if it is an Ativation issue?  It looks very much like the system had a clean reinstall of the OS, and you may depend PS was not deactivated first.   It also depends on whether CS5 and the CS6 upgrade were obtained as downloads from Adobe.  If that was the case, then CS6 would have been seen as an upgrade from the order history.  If CS5 was installed from a DVD, then CS6 might need to see CS5 installed and Activated before it will accept the SN.
[EDIT]  It's moot now that DVDs are no longer available, but direct download of the Adobe apps has long seemed the most sensible approach to me.  No searching for lost DVDs or serial numbers.  All of the information available from anywhere in the world you happen to be with Internet access.

  • CS6 Upgrade Obtained; Time Limit To Install? Moving To Different PC A Little Later?

    Hi,
I just wanted to ask a few questions about my CS6 "technology guarantee" upgrade for my Student copy of CS5.5 (which I bought in May of this year).
I registered my CS5.5 serial number, but have not installed it. I applied for the CS6 upgrade, and CS6 is showing as availible in my "My Orders" on my account. So if I may ask
    1) Has my serial number been fully transferred to CS6? As in, I have the DVD for CS5.5 but now do I effectively own CS6 and can download it now and in the future accordingly? In other words, is CS6 fully mine as if I bought it directly?
2)Is there a time limit for me to download or activate CS6? (There was a time limit if  August 5th given to me with my pruchase for the end of claims, but have I now claimed it even if not downlaoding and installing?)
3)I am planning on buying a new computer, but unsure as to when. It may turn out that I will install CS6 on my current PC and end up a few weeks later needing to move it to my new PC. Woudl this cause any problems, given the "upgrade" status and the fact I would have installed for the first time shortly before ? (If that makes sense).
Thansk so much for your help.

Dear Jeff. Thank you so much for the helpful, and quick, reply. It's great news I can have CS6 on my laptop and future desktop. Could I just clarify something and ask one more question? I would just like to be super clear.
Under my "Recent Orders" in my Adobe account, it says "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard - Upgrade, Windows, English, Download" "Quantity 1" and there is a different serial number (to CS 5.5) as you said. I have the "receipt" too, with "US $275.00" as the price and "US $0" as the "Grand Total".
    1) So this therefore means my complimentary upgrade has been accepted, and basically I now own CS6 Standard as if I had bought the boxed version?
    2) Also can I just check; I plan to backup the download once it's complete, but judt in case of some drive failure issue in the future, will I be able to redownload CS6 again? I guess I can just download the trial version and use my serial number to unlock it in this case?
Once again, thanks so much for your time.

  • Trouble getting CS6 upgrade to recognize my serial number

I bought a new iMac today and prepared to load my new CS6 software from the upgrade package I bought. I deactivated my old CS3 software on my other computer. But it still won't allow the installation to go through--won't recogize the serial numbers (old #s from the CS3 package). Is there something I'm missing? On a deadline with a project and would appreciate any suggestions. Do I have to install the old CS3 on this new machine, and then run the CS6 upgrade disc to install correctly?

The other issue is when did you buy the upgrade? Your CS3 serial number may simply be ineligible.
The window for upgrading from CS3 and CS4 to CS6 closed on 31 Dec 2012.
Since 1 Jan 2013, the only products which now qualify for an upgrade to CS6 are CS5/CS5.5

  • Downloding a flash CS6 upgrade

Downloding a flash CS6 upgrade, not working, anybody had same problem? When enter the serial # it says that to use this serial number you must own one of the the qualifying products, when I enter the serial # for the qualifying product it says "This serial # is not for a qualifying product. Please try another"
I tried solving this issue in my own with no results, help!

it's expecting the serial number for flash cs5.5, not design premium cs5.5
contact adobe support to see if you have a qualifying product and, if so, how to install flash cs6: www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html

  • Software upgrade startup sleep

Product is my wife's Old iMac (purchased 2008)
After overnight upgrade to 10.9.2 (It offered to upgrade in 1 hour.  We said yes and went to bed.)  on startup, I get:
    Bright screen with Apple logo
    progress "circle" for a while
I hear loading of hard drive.
Screen goes black as in sleep mode
Moving mouse causes screen to change from black to dark but seems backlit. Light seen along edges.  The mouse cursor is then clearly seen and can be moved with the mouse.
Only thing physically connected is a USB connection to a printer and the mouse.
    WiFi backup to Time Capsule.
Obviously, I have no way of knowing if the upgrade was actually done.
    Can anyone offer suggestions?

  • Have any ideas re: G5 startup issues? Long post...

My dual processor G5 (purchased Jan. 2005) is in the shop, and, of course, out of warranty. It's been down for over two weeks. Here is the story of its demise:
Installed 10.4.9 upgrade. Began having "launch systems" and crashdump/usb crash errors thereafter. Not a lot of info online regarding these problems, so I decided to do an archive and re-install of my system software.
Started having intermittent problems restarting the G5. Either it would chime, but not kick on the monitor, chime and kick on the monitor but hang at the grey apple startup screen, or not chime at all, with which only the fans would come on. Apple Extended Hardware Test came back OK. Still had problems after removing my USB devices.
Problems continued after the reinstall of the system software, eventually to the point where I could not even boot from a CD. When the G5 did operate, after a short period of use it would freeze, and I would have to force a restart and pray it would boot up completely. It would reliably freeze after waking it from sleep, but also froze in iPhoto and Finder as well.
I have tried resetting the PMU and the PRAM with no improvement. Took it to an Apple Authorized Service Center, luckily only a couple miles from where I work. They tried booting with the Apple RAM only, then the third party RAM only, no improvement. Hard drive was completely reformatted and system reinstalled, no improvement. I am waiting to hear what else they've tried.
My G5's serial # falls outside of those involved with the power supply issues. Yet, could this be a possibility? Any other ideas as to what the problem could be, or has anyone had similar issues?
I freelance as a graphic designer and this has me in a panic. Now using the hubby's Intel iMac to run CS2 and it's a drag.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi and thanks for the input. I just spoke to the Apple service guy and he still insists there is not a hardware issue. Apparently there is an Apple technical doc, available only to authorized techs, that refers to this particular issue, and the fix is a download and install (firmware, perhaps?) He has to contact Apple and confirm my G5 is within the serial # range for this particular fix.
That's my best interpretation of our discussion. He was rather cryptic. But he says it's not the power supply.
I did an archive and install because, like an idiot, I did not have anything backed up at that point. After that failed, I used up my stash of DVDs and copied gigs to our iMac until the G5 gave out. I had run the hardware test several times and each time came back clean.
Permissions were repaired before and after updates; had it freeze a couple times mid-update. Tried booting in safe mode and single-user mode and still had the same startup issues.
To add insult to injury, I purchased a LaCie Porsche external drive as an eventual backup drive whenever the G5 returns. Hooked it up to our iMac to backup the items I saved off the G5. It failed after the second use. Returned for replacement.
    Thanks.
