Illuminated Apple Logo Not Fading Off
I currently own a Mid-2011 MacBook Air 13". When I originally purchased this beautiful machine, the illuminated Apple Logo on the back used to fade off when it was put to sleep. However, lately it has been abruptly shutting off without fading out even though it is going to sleep the exact same way. Even though this is not a life threatening problem, it is a little detail that has been bothering me as of lately. If anybody happens to have any answers for me, I would genuinely appreciate it.
The same is happening to mine, and I do not know since when.
I noticed that the first time I close the screen, the light just turns off, but on the open, it fades in, and if I close it again in a short period, it just fades out normally.
After a long time work, it returns to turn off the firts time.
Seems like something is clearing some buffer or something.

earlier my itunes told me that my files were corrupted and I needed to restore, so I did. In the middle of the restore I lost internet connection. Now my computer and Itunes will not recognize my Ipod and if it is not plugged in when I turn the Ipod on it only shows the apple logo then shuts off after 30 seconds. If it is plugged in it will charge, but Itunes and Windows will not recognize it. I have tried the menu + select shutoff multiple times with no change. All it will say while it is charging is do not disconnect.
The clicking sound is your iPod Hardisk, trying to retract and find the boot sector unsuccesfully.
Hopefully, you can do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as in this great post by tt2., it wont fix your problem, but let you know, how dire is your Hardisk health.
So only as a last resort, one way, to get the stuck Hardisk head free, is to bang the iPod on a rubber mouse pad, when you reset it, but do it at your own risk, some very lucky guys got it working again for the next 14 months, like myself. -
My iPhone will not turn on - stuck showing apple logo on or off?
My iPhone 4 is stuck flashing the apple logo on and off for about 1 minute on/1 minute off. I am plugged in to the computer that manages the phone, but it will not show up in iTunes. Any ideas?
RickSTLHi RickSTL,
The error 2001 you are getting can be related to a few different problems, however it appears to be isolated to a PC related problem.
The fastest resolution would be to try the restore on a different (known working) PC & network or different PC at the very least. Should that not be possible your local Apple Store should be able to get the iPhone restored for you on either a test machine or with one of the Genius Bar staff.
For information about the error code and possible resolutions please see the following link: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
Hope it helps. -
I have tried to reset and restart my iPod touch but it remains stuck at the apple logo and turns off. The iPod is not responsive when i connect it to my computer or wall charger.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

hi, when i turn my phone on it just shows the apple logo then turns off please help!
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
If you try this three or four times without success, it's time to make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have your device evaluated by the techs. -
Part of illuminated apple logo "blocked"
OK this is pureply a cosmetic thing but still ...
I recently sent my powerbook in to an apple authorized service center toi have the display replaced as a big dent had been knocked into it.
PB came back with new display - there was a large, white 'pressure point 'in the middle of it (looked like it does when you push firmly on the screen) so I sent it back again. Also, when looking at the illuminated apple logo on the casing, half of the leaf of the logo was blocked out, as if something inside the casing was blocking the light shining through.
Anyway, they just called me to say they had replaced the screen again, and while there are no longer any white spots, the apple logo is still not fully illuminated, but half the leaf is still 'blocked'. They are saying Apple may have changed vendors on the screens and they are probably all made like this now, without the apple fully lighting up, seeing as this is exactly like the last one they replaced.
I know this is purely cosmetic, but does this sound right? Should I just accept that and live with it? Are they telling me the truth? Just wanted some advice if anyone has any!
Thanks!
MattI was kinda thinking I shouldn't accept it too. I am not that bothered about the aesthetics of the machine, only really the performance, but then again Apple are well known for their attention to the extra details in design so I would not think they would allow this. And I agree, it is basically a floored machine as far as resale is concerned.
Thanks for your input. -

My iPhone 5's screen will only blink the apple logo on and off but never fully turn on
When I plug in my iPhone 5, it will only blink the apple logo on and off but never fully turn on. I tried to reset and that didn't help, any suggestions.
Hi,
Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
Turn the Phone On...
If that does not help... See Here:

IPod Touch - continuously cycles Apple logo on and off - otherwise works
iPod Touch first model, 32 GB. this unit works fine, has latest OS updates and re-sets.
Still, when I turn it off it doesn't sit quietly - it cycles the Apple logo on and off continuously whether on charge or not. No way I've found to have it break the logo on-off cycle - repeats endlessly.
If I hold the "on" button the cycle will stop and the unit will turn on and run fine. When I turn it off the Apple logo (boot up) image begins to cycle (on for several seconds, off for several seconds) - continuously.
This unit has all latest updates, has been re-set, etc. Nothing seems to work to stop this blinking cycle. If not on charge the unit will run down completely. Pls. Helpthanks for your suggestion about using the power and "home" buttons at the same time to reset the unit. I've tried that route also many times with no change in the cycling activity. If I release the home button and hold the power button the Touch will turn on and function as normal. But no reset - restore with my Mac and iTunes, or solo, will stop this up and down cycling. It's right beside me now doing "it's thing."
STILL need help to cease this cycling until the battery either runs down or I place it on charge - at which time the cycling resumes.
Strange thing is that the unit works totally normally with mail, apps, internet, etc. when it's on, and it seems to turn off when asked - but then it starts this "reboot" activity endlessly.
Really will appreciate help with this - local Genius bar guy had no answer - "trade it in" he said. -
found olf iphone 4 or 4s in the back of my parents closet. They told me I could now have it back and its been a year since the last time I saw it. It wont turn on unless it is plugged up to a wall plug in. But as soon as I turn it on it says activation required then it says plug into itunes. After I try doing that it plugs into my computer but flashes the apple logo on and off. It wont even turn on all the way when plugged into computer...only the wall. ANY IDEAS?): and no I didnt steal/find this phone. It is mine. I dont have the guts to steal but a lot of people online have accused me.
You may need to force it into recovery mode. See here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17766427#17766427

Illuminated Apple logo at 27" intel based imac
Hello all,
a few days ago I've watched a few seconds of a german crime story while zapping through television.
There I have seen an criminologist using a 27" imac with an illuminated apple logo swittching darker / brighter.
Does anyone know something about that?
Kind regards
RichardMaybe it is the camera/illumination reflexion
I agree. I think it was a light refection from the lighting hitting the shiny surface of the logo.
