Illustrator and Indesign wont install when installing Creative Suite 4
Im trying to install just photoshop, illustrator and Indesign on my laptop from the CS4 master collection. When I tried to custom install I wasnt able to "check" Illustrator or Indesign so I tried installing the complete suite and it still didnt install those two. I have an HP I-7 running windows 7 and I have plenty of ram and I changed my screen resolution as recommended. Im not sure why it wont let me install these two programs but installed everything else. Please help!

Hi there
This Mac is quite new and was originally a migration (using Migration Assistant) from an older Mac.
Illustrator and InDesign in CS5 were both crashing often and most of the time it's when placing an image (in either application) – it doesn't crash each time I try to place an image, but 90% of the crashes are when placing an image.
We tried lots of things, like cleaning out the fonts, clearing font caches etc. After several months of that, we decided to wipe the Mac clean and start from scratch. It has been reformatted with a clean install of the OS and only minimal additional software added. Although quite a few fonts have been reinstalled, they all validate in Font Book.
One other thing of note is that the Adobe Updater fails to complete an update and so we have had to update each application manually from the Adobe website.
I would be so grateful someone could help shed some light on what is going on. Here's an EtreCheck report. Can also provide crash reports from the Console if useful.
Thanks!

Thanks in advance. Any ideas gratefully received – I've run out!
ps. I have 10 colleagues with same OS version and CS5 (some even have the exact same model of Mac). They don't have this issue. Thanks, I will do.

Programs crash when print attempted.. any help???
gillikinm,
I am afraid there may be some (yet) unsolved issues with CS4 and Yosemite. I believe I have seen successful cases, too.
You may wish to roll back from Yosemite and wait to see whether the issues will be solved and reported as such.
Weeding out in older plugins seems to have helped some in some cases. It also seems that JAVA Runtime may be involved, for some it seems to help to roll back to an ealier version, for others to update to the newest. And at least for some, it has made a real difference to download the JAVA from Oracle rather than from Apple.
All the above is more or less hearsay so far, with no definite final confirmation.
In any case, there is something to be sorted out by someone.
On the other hand, this website seems to indicate that someone has made Yosemite work with almost all CS/CC versions.

Installing a trial version of the Illustrator and InDesign App in Creative Cloud on my Mac is impossible. Keep getting 'Installation failed' notices. More information gives 0 fatal error(s), 0 error(s). Already repaired disk permissions in Disk Utility but nothing seems to work. Exit code: 7.
Hi Maarton,
Please follow the link to resolve the issue: Errors "Exit Code: 6," "Exit Code: 7" | CS5, CS5.5

If I switch my installed PS6, Illustrator and InDesign over to the Cloud (from an installed program with the code, like Adobe used to do it), will I have to pay monthly even though I already purchased the programs? And will I then be able to use the program on another computer when I sign into my adobe account? I know how to switch it over, I just want to make sure I won't also have to pay monthly even though it's already been purchased.
Your purchase of licensed version of Adobe applications does apply to CC subscriptions. If you subscribe you will pay for the subscription on whatever periodic basis you choose (monthly versus annually).

Problems installing Illustrator and Indesign from CS3 suite
I am trying to install Illustrator and Indesign from CS3 suite. Previously I had been running a trial version on my Mac, and now am trying to install the suite from the original install discs. I have gone through the process of uninstalling all of the Adobe programs and then reinstalling. When the install disc loads up and I get to the point where it lists the programs to install, in the top box Illustrator and Indesign are listed as already being installed and have no option to install them. When I search my computer there are no Illustrator or Indesign applications. I am able to reinstall the rest of the suite and it seems to work fine but can't seem to figure out what step I'm missing as far as reinstalling Illustrator and Indesign are concerned.
I haven't tried doing it on Vista but I would recommend looking for
Adobe clean up programs. The problem I had was that the computer had
a trial version and then I tried to install the full version and it
wouldn't let me install illustrator because there were some random
illustrator files that conflicted with the installation process. I
ran clean up program and it removed all adobe files. Then I
reinstalled photoshop. Before you start running clean up programs
make sure you back everything up. Good luck -
This is what pops up when Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign are opened.
Smsbc was Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign installed using the custom installation option in Master Collection? Have you tried de-activating your current license to reapply the Master Collection license? You can find details on how to deactivate at Activation & deactivation help - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html.

I just bought a new PC and I have re-installed my Adobe Creative Suite Standard on it.
Software open fine. PROBLEM: The toolbars (menu stuff) appear extra-small, too small for me to read...
I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!Anything before CC is not high-DPI compatible. Feel free to continue to experiment with your system settings.

I've problem re-install my Creative Suite 6 Master Collection for almost all applications. Installation was idle/stop when installing AdobeHelp, I've already tried to let the installation process ran for almost 24 hours, but it's still idle, so I cancelled the installation.
I've tried several times, and the result is still the same. It's idle when installing Adobehelp
And there is no feature/option in the installation menu to not installed Adobehelp.
Before re-install, I've used AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool, because I can't installed adobe illustration that I've not installed yet before and the installation crashed.
So I follow the instruction till I get suggestion to download AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool. and I ran it and choose all cleaning.
Now I still have problem to re-install my Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection.System information:
Laptop Dell Vostro 14", Intel Pentium i5, Ram 4GB
OS Windows 7 Home Basic
Is that enough? do you need more information?
what kind of information?

I have installed CS6 in my PC and registered the product with Adobe. I was doing fine untill my client wanted me to carry my laptop to a meeting to show them designs and make changes real time. I wanted to install the same pack in my laptop, though I dont intend to use both the machines together, thought I should give it a try and use them one at a time. But its not installing the essential softwares (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and says it already has some other location.
My question is can I install/use the same suite in both machines and use one at a time?My question is can I install/use the same suite in both machines and use one at a time?
Yes, you can do so.
But its not installing the essential softwares (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and says it already has some other location.
When you say not installing the essential softwares, what exactly your mean? Apart from these 3 applications, all other installed fine. Do you get any error message?
Please ellaborate the exact issue with application and operating system details. -
