I updated my Illustrator CC and now it is asking me to load the font Verdana which I don't have in my system…how do I fix this?

  • Illustrator CC won't open and asks for Verdana font to be enabled

Has anyone encountered this error message?
"Illustrator CC has stopped working. Please enable Verdana font(s) and relaunch Illustrator."
I've checked the font and it's enabled but Illustrator refuses to open. I uninstalled CC and reinstalled it, but still no joy.
I'm running the latest version of Suitcase Fusion 5 and Verdana is enabled. CS6 seems to work, but my CC files are not opening in an editable form on CS6.
    Mac running latest OS.

This is Adobe's fault for using a system font built by M$, and they need to fix their software, but either can't or won't... http://forums.adobe.com/message/6152826

  • Adobe illustrator asks for Java SE 6 and the link doesn't work at Apple

Adobe illustrator asks for Java SE 6 (a legacy installation) and won't run without it. The link to the legacy version at Apple goes to an error page ("too many redirects") Does anyone have a solution? Has something  changed recently. The mac help page is dated March 27, 2015, but the link at for Java SE 6 results in an error for me.

    Try this: Apple Java 2014-001.

  • CC Illustrator asking for referenced files upon opening (DropBox)

I locate my CC Illustrator file on DropBox.  All of the files it references are also on DropBox.   I work exclusively on the Illustrator file on DropBox (I never download it to my computer and work on it).  I do this so that my wife can also open this Illustator file (on DropBox) from her computer and work on it - again with all of the referenced files located on DropBox.  She never downloads the file to her computer.  I just want to be clear about that. : )
    PROBLEM:
    1) I work on Illustator file on my computer then close it.  My wife opens it on her computer.  Illustator shows dialog box "Can't find _____.png file"   Do you want to Replace, Ignore or Cancel.
So we "reconnect" by hitting "Replace" finding the file on DropBox that my computer always referenced.   The Illustator file opens, everything is in its place.
    2) My wife makes no changes to the file.  tries to "Close" the file and it asks her to "Save As".
    QUESTIONS:
    1)  Why does my wife have to locate reference files when all of the work is done on DropBox and all of the refence file are located on DropBox?
    2) Why does she have to "Save As" and replace the main file (located and opened on DropBox) when she has made no changes to the file?
If it helps any, you should know we share the exact same DropBox account (not just a shared folder) which is set up on her computer and on my computer.

The only thing I can think of why centralizing the folder on DropBox isn't working is that the pictures being referenced when on my computer are probably listed in Illustrator as:
    DropBox/mycomputer/Macintosh HD/Users...etc.
Whereas when my wife opens this illus. file on her computer, it wonders where "mycomputer" went to.  So, she relinks the pic files and now Illust. makes the new links as:
    DropBox/hercomputer/MacintoshHD/Users...etc.
She makes changes while the file (and all pic files) are still located on DropBox.
I then open the file located on DropBox and it says "Hey, man, where is the pic file listed now as "DropBox/hercomputer/Mac HD...".  I then have to relink and then the new reference is DropBox/mycomputer/MacHD..."
Not sure if that's why but that's my guess.
The Old Thread above wrote about an Absolute Path that Illy is using.
Is that the official answer from the Adobe Illy team?  Is there a good reason for this?  How can multiple people work on a single file and ref files stored on a server and not have these pop-up, relinking dialogue boxes happen?

  • Illustrator asks for Java update. Again!

I'm still on CS6, still OS X Mt. Lion 10.8.5
Launched illustrator today and said it needed a java runtime thing downloaded in order to launch! I recall doing it  when first installing CS6, but should it need it again and again?
    Is this normal?
    thanks  for any clues!

  • Adobe Illustrator asking for the Activation Code!

    Hi, all!
I am using AI CS5. I installed AI CS5 with Windows HP and Dell Destop. I didn't get the alert of Activation Code and I can use it without any interruption. But now I installed AI CS5 in my laptop (32-bit Operating System) Dell N5010. I got the alert saying that it needs the Activation Code installed so that I can use for ever and no limit. Now my AI CS5 in the Laptop attempts me to install a new Activation Codes.
I sometimes get this and that.
[picture with serial number deleted by host]
What did I do wrong with this kind of Laptop? If so, please let me know and feel free to explain to me in details so that I can figure it out.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
    My Kindest Regards,
    LUCK

First, it would be wise to REMOVE YOUR SERIAL NUMBER FROM YOUR SCREENSHOT.
Second, if your purchased number is not working, call Adobe Customer service. We're just users here, like you. We can't help with activation and serial number issues.

  • Illustrator cc will not startup (please enable verdana font)

When I try to start illustrator cc if says "illustrator has stopped working, please enable verdana font/s and relaunch illustrator. but it keep saying the same thing even though font is running.

Thanks for your answer, I do notice the I have verdana OTF running but not seeing a version for TTF anywhere. My reason for mentioning that is that Illustrator cs6 is running with OTF version loaded and Illustrator CC was running before.
Anyway before I try this solution can you tell me where to place this font once I download it as I noticed that you you said no font management. Would that be McIntoch HD/System/Fonts or what?

  • Better font display: Ask for tester

Here is my chinese opmitised fonts.conf file, and ANYBODY who is using another language is supposed to benefit from it, you can get better font display if it works, so I ask for more tester, all you neet to do is to replace your original fonts.conf file(under your /ete/fonts/) with this one, don't forget backup firstly.
I don't know how to enclose an attachment, so I post my fonts.conf 's content here, I am using freetype 2.1.8 and fontconfig 2.2.2, I compiled them by abs, and almost the same PKGBUILD as Judd, however I don't apply any patches.
    fonts.conf:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
<!-- /etc/fonts.conf file to configure system font access -->

things that others will also want fixed.  Please send any suggested
changes to [email protected] so that future releases can include

Note that the normal 'make install' procedure for XFree86 is to

I got brave and gave your font.conf a shot.  everything worked great but when building the fontconfig pkg I had to change the source line to...
    source=(http://freedesktop.org/~fontconfig/release/fontconfig-2.2.2.tar.gz)
other than that the freetype and font pkgbuild files worked and installed fine.
When I replaced my font.conf file with yours, after backing up mine ofcourse, and rebooted I didn't have any problems but the overall apearence was not as good as it was when using my original file. I switched back to my original and no harm done. I don't speak chinese but was curious. I'm just learning abs and building my own packages. I was impressed with your pkgbuild files working and then installing with no errors. The first ones I have ever used that worked.  but now when I run pacman -Su it wants to upgrade back to fontconfig-2.2.1-2 and freetype2-2.1.7-1. I should say downgrade. I guess I need to search for an answer to why it doesn't recognize the new pakages as being the latest.

  • Adobe Illustrator CC has stopped working. Please enable Verdana font(s) and relaunch Illustrator?

What do i do when a warning box says: Adobe Illustrator CC has stopped working. Please enable Verdana font(s) and relaunch Illustrator?

    Laust,
I just managed to find these threads, see especially post #22 in the former, which solves a really subtle variation of it:
"Verdana missing" bug in illustrator CC on Mac
Can't open Illustrator CC. Dialogue box appears with " Adobe illustrator has stopped working. Please enable Verdana font(s) and relaunch illustrator.

The CC does not needs any serial number, it is based on Adobe ID.
In case you are being asked for serial number then you can refer to.

  • Why would a commercial printer ask for Illustrator native files instead of InDesign files?

Why would a commercial printer ask for Illustrator native files instead of InDesign files?
For example, We create 32 hang tags for the same brand. Each hang tag looks identical except for a color bar calling out the different fits. We set the files up in InDesign with a Master Page congaing all the similar artwork. This process saves us a lot of time when making changes to the entire package of hang tags. So my question is... why can't the printer use InDesign. They are saying they convert our InDesign files to Illustrator before printing.

A printer who insists on native files but can't take InDesign is not properly equipped. It suggests they haven't updated their capabilities in 15 years.

Trying to install Illustrator cs3, during the installation I am asked for photoshop cs4 disk I no longer have the photoshop cs4 disk

Do you own Illustrator CS3?  An older version should not only not be asking you to utilize a newer version in any way, it couldn't even know about the existence of it.

  • Illustrator CS4 Trial asking for serial number

I just installed Illustrator CS4 TRIAL and it is stating that trial has expired and is asking for a serial number.  I literally only downloaded this about an hour ago.
Does anyone have any ideas what is up with that?
    Thanks!

You had another trial (of another product) and let it time out, locking the licensing system or another existing Adobe product is preventing the trial from running. Nothing you can do about it, unless you feel like wiping your computer and reinstalling your operating system from scratch plus al lthe software.

  • Every time I try and open illustrator I get asked for a serial number???

I use a MacBook Pro, which I purchased in Thailand (I am staying in Thailand) but have a spanish credit card (I include this information as I dont know if this is the problem) .  I joined creative cloud and downloaded illustrator and photoshop but every time I try to "liscence" the software I get asked for a serial number.  After looking through the forum I thoufght this may have something to do with having a Thai comp and Spanish card but I have recieved an email confimation and my adobe profile also confirms my membership, so I dont think it i this. I need to use the apps professionally and this is drivng me insane! Would appreciate any advice!
