Illustrator CC 17.1 Alt + Scroll Wheel seems laggy and broken

I upgraded to illustrator CC 17.1 Yesterday and the scroll wheel zoom seems completely broken.
Is this just me or is anyone else experiencing this? It is a huge issue as I use this a lot during the day.
Is there anytime line for a fix if that has been noticed? Also is there a way to roll back my upgrade?
Thanks

  • 'Alt + Scroll wheel' zoom function lacking in Muse

Hi all! While Muse is a very intuitive program to get to grips with, one feature that I see lacking is the ability to use the 'Alt +Scroll wheel' zoom command. I use this in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and I am a little confused as to why it is not in Muse. I would LOVE to see this implemented. As would many of my freinds and co-workers. Is there a reason it is not available? Arrivederci!

    Hi Paul,
I'm not quite sure what Bozhinov was meaning, but what I was saying is that the funcionality of holding the Alt key down whilst using the mouse scrollwheel to zoom would be an extremely useful feature in Muse. The same feature you have in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, for instance.

  • Bring back Alt-Scroll-Wheel zoom

PS's alt-scroll-wheel zoom shortcut is just too useful to leave out
    of LR.

  • Is there a way to make the scroll wheel move up and down instantly like you could with previous versions, instead of moving slowly up and down?

I've only recently updated my firefox to v 15.0.1 after using v 10 for so long, and I was wondering if there is a way to make the scroll wheel move up and down instantly without having it slowly crawl to it's spot?

    you can disable smooth scrolling.

  • Alt + Scroll wheel zooming

    Hello!
Been working with Muse for a while now and I'm growing to like it more and more, however, there is one thing that bugs me... you can't zoom in and out on your project like you can with Photoshop or Illustrator by using Alt + the scroll wheel on your mouse. You have to select the zoom tool and then faff about with it, then re-select the tool you were working with before you had to faff about with the zoom tool. Workflow would be greatly increased if Muse had this feature I reckon. And less frustrating.
I'm sure the Muse boffins will be rolling this out in a future update but I thought I'd make the suggestion here in the 'Ideas for features in Adobe Muse forum', just in case.
    Thanks!
Also, if said boffins could add a feature that would allow Muse to export a project to WordPress..   that..  would be smashing

I completely agree, the 'alt + scrollwheel zoom' would speed up my workflow like nothing else. I've posted a couple of times about the lack of this functionality.

  • Alt & scroll wheel not working on Photoshop CC to zoom in / out

Hey! So i'm using the latest version of Photoshop CC, and i'm also running the Technical Preview of Windows 10. So In Photshop, usually when you hold the alt key and scroll with the scroll wheel on your mouse, it will zoom in / out of the image on Photoshop. Well i'm having some problems with that, it isn't working at all. In preferences I have it set to zoom with scroll wheel. Anyone know why it isn't working? Could it be something with the Windows 10 Preview?

Please report Windows 10 issues to Microsoft, so they can get the information they need to fix the OS bugs before shipping the final version.

  • What happened to Alt + Scroll Wheel Zooming while using Polygonal Lasso Tool?

My issue is that when I am working with the Polygonal Lasso tool I am no longer able to use Alt + Mouse Scroll wheel to zoom in and out while making my selection. I have found other ways to zoom in/out, but none are as efficient and fast as the method I just described. I used this function in previous versions of Photoshop and can’t imagine why Adobe would remove it from CS6. Is there a way to re-activate this function?

Were you using a mac (works in photoshop cs4 on a mac) before or which photoshop version on a windows system did that work?
Anyway on windows you could press the spacebar and alt or ctrl and click on the screen to zoom.

  • "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" is broken

    Hello,
Since updating to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion this morning, the "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" feature is broken.
In the mouse control panel the checkbox for "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" is definitely checked. The default Control ^ key is selected. I verified I'm hitting the correct key on the keyboard using the keyboard viewer.
I've tried using this with 2 finger scrolling on my trackpack as well. I've also tried turning off most of the trackpack geustures.
I tried searching these forums prior to posting and found replies telling people with various different situations to turn this feature off. I want it on. I use it constantly.
    I have a MacBook Pro Aluminum 13-Inch Mid 2010
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7 (11A511)
    Any advise would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

Hello. Original poster here. I can confirm a few things after observing for a few days and trying stuff.
    1) The Universal access fixes did nothing. I set & reset those settings til I was blue in the face.
    2) I tried a "Repair Permissions" with the Disk Utility. No luck.
    3) It works intermitently. After sleeping sometimes it works. After plugging into my external monitor sometimes it works on the external monitor but then if I unplug it won't work again. After a reboot somtimes it works, then after sleeping stops working. Kinda strange. When it works it works from both my external USB mouse and the trackpad, so I don't think it's the hardware.
I don't have Time Machine configured - been using Carbonite, but they're not compatible with Lion so might have to get Time Machine running anyway - but it's not a fix per se, since this oughta work all the time.

  • Scrolling is really laggy and slow

For a week or so I've noticed that my scrolling is really slow and laggy on some sites. A site most often visited that makes my scrolling really slow is youtube. Has anyone found a solution to fix this? Was it maybe due to an update?

    Hello everyone!
User Hakaitz of the Apple Support Communities has worked out a solution, that has helped me getting my old Mac performance back. It involves installing the graphics drivers from Snow Leopard in Lion.
This performance bug really annoyed me to no ends... Here's what user Hakaitz says in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3198002?start=45&tstart=0:
There is a fix for this problem.
I just load with kext helper, the Snow Leopard Kexts from version 10.6.2 for the Radeon.
End of stutters on laggy animations on any version of lion. Works on 7.1 and 8.1 imacs (at least).
    Here the fix:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=11INQM1D
How to use ONLY RADEON 2600 USERS:
    execute kext helper
drag and drop this files ONLY:
    ATIFramebuffer.kext
    ATISupport.kext
    ATI2600Controller.kext
put your admin password and click on "easy install". I tooks a while to do the work. When finished, reboot (the kext helper aaaaalways hangs, its normal.
After that reboot your computer wont stutter anymore.
    Hope it helps!

  • I can't zoom in and out using the scroll wheel

so i want to zoom in and out on photoshop how i always have...using ctrl and scroll wheel...
but when i went to do it how i naturally do it, it didnt work..after some research i found you go into preferences, general and tick the box about zoom scroll or somthing.
Yet when i go onto it i dont have any options about zooming !!?? from what ive seen i have less options than others.
and im pretty sure it isnt only available on newer version..because i have done it before on really old photoshop versions.
so any help would be appriciated, thanks

Photoshop 7 doesn't have a preference for using  Zoom With Scroll Wheel like cs2 and later do, but holding down the Alt key and using the scroll wheel should work
    to zoom in or out.
Does the Alt key work if you make a selection and then use Alt+Ctrl+D to bring up the Feather dialog?
Does the scroll wheel work to change the layer blend modes by duplicating the layer and highlighting
the layer blend mode of Normal in the layers palette and then using the scroll wheel to change blend modes?

  • How do I Enable Scroll Wheel Zooming in Fireworks?

I just bought a new mouse and now "ctrl + scroll wheel" zoom no longer works. The scroll wheel works but as soon as I hold down ctrl then the scroll wheel seems to do nothing - in Fireworks... in Internet Explorer and Chrome it will zoom as expected. I can't find anything in windows settings and Fireworks preferences does not have any settings that I could find. Since it works in other applications I would safely assume the issue is with Fireworks...
    Fireworks CS6
    Windows 8
Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 (Model 1383)
    Thanks for the help!

    > I am talking about a revolving object in GIF

GIF is just an end format, something you export to. Many
    applications
will export animations to GIF. The real issue here is finding
    an app
that can revolve an object in 3D space. You haven't told us
    what kind of
object you want to revolve. If there's an example you could
    point us to
we may be able to help more.
Again, if you want to create more realistic 3D animations
    with precise
control over lighting, cameras, 3D modeling and more, try out
    Swift 3D.
It's not exactly cheap but is a lot less expensive than high
    end 3D apps
and has a lot of the same features. It exports to GIF among
    many other
    formats.
    http://www.erain.com/
But it sounds to me like you want something simpler and Xara
    3D which
someone else recommended would probably fit the bill for you
    and be less
expensive. I had tried it but that was years ago so I don't
    know how
well it works now but for quick and dirty 3D web animations
    it should do
    nicely.
    http://www.xara.com/products/xara3d/
Both Swift3D and Xara 3D export to GIF amongst many other
    formats.
Swift3D's exporter is a lot more sophisticated and powerful
    though. It
actually has 2, one for vector output and one for
    raster/bitmap output
(like a GIF animation). Give both apps a try. Start with Xara
    and check
out Swift 3D only if Xara doesn't do what you need.

  • Zoom with Alt + Mouse wheel not working

I used to be able to zoom in and out in Lightroom by pressing the alt (or option key) and scrolling up or down.   Suddenly this stopped working.  It still works fine in other apps like Photoshop, just not Lightroom.  Any suggestions?

I'm on Windows - and for me, Ctrl + scroll wheel zooms the image (not Alt + scroll wheel). That's a common shortcut in many programs (don't know about MacOS though).
However, I personally find mouse clicking between (say) 1:1 and Fill, hitting the space bar as needed (also using that to pan) both quicker, and more useful.

  • Change scroll wheel function?

Is it possible to change the what the scroll wheel does?
At the moment the scroll wheel zooms in and out horizontally in waveform mode.  That's great.  Then when I switch to multitrack, the scroll wheel switches to vertical zooming.  That seems counter intuitive to me.
Is there an option to change the scroll wheel function so that I can zoom in and out horizontally (timewise) on both waveform editor and in multitrack mode?
Would be so good....  Thank you!

In Multitrack view, the behavior depends on where the mouse cursor is placed.  If you use the scroll wheel while the cursor is over the track panel controls, then it will resize thet rack height.  If scrolling while over the tracks and clips themselves, it scrolls.  Similar behaviors occur when scrolling while hovering over the navigation bar or ruler bars in the interface.

  • Annoyingly scroll wheel behavior in Safari

I recently had to remove the Logitech drivers from my Mac after a series of kernel panics it was causing (seems to clash with some of the recent updates to 10.4.) The mouse still works, but now I no longer have granular control over its functionality and Logitech has discontinued this mouse so I don't think the driver will be updated.
One of the problems I'm encountering is acceleration in Safari when using the scroll wheel. With the Logitech drivers installed, it was a flat, fast speed. Without, Safari seems to want to do this wonky thing where it tries to figure out how fast I want to go and accelerate the scrolling based on how much I'm moving the scroll wheel. (Apple does some great design and UI stuff, but sorry, this is just over-thinking something painfully simple.) So now I have to do these enormous finger motions just to scroll through a page with the scroll wheel whereas I used to be able to do one or two movements.
Anyone know of a program or a plist I can edit to stop Safari from doing this? It doesn't happen in any other application, just Safari.
Secondly, I've lost the ability to use the scroll wheel click as an Apple+click which was also very convenient in Safari for opening links in other tabs.

i just went to a carboot sale and bought a logitech 2 click - scrollwheel mouse for £1 (50c)
and it works fine without any drivers -
    1. the wheel as a click-link-opening-in-new-page on a web page works fine
    2. the scrolling down the webpage - well it was a bit jerky and related to my finger movement on the wheel to start with - but i went to system prefs and increased the speed of scroll wheel under keyboard and mouse settings and it now is fine - i find it isnt based on smooth scrolling , but incremental
