  • Dreamweaver cc 2014 running extremely slow

Dreamweaver CC 2014 is running extremely slow - with essentially no response (using split mode or any other mode). My version of CC runs perfectly - quick & clean. I haven't changed anything - all I did was install the new CC 2014 and tried it out and it basically doesn't work. What is going on? I have a 2012 iMac - my OS is updated plenty of RAM, etc. I have a lot of fonts open but this has never effected any other program - just wondering if maybe behind the scenes its reading all of that stuff (why would it?).

    1.  Re: Dreamweaver cc 2014 running extremely slow
           Preran
I've determined why MY Dreamweaver 2014 was "slow." BUT AGAIN, I HAD NO PROBLEM running CC with the exact setup.
I'm running and I-Mac with OSX (version 10.9.4) 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 and 16 GB of 1600 MHz DDR2 ram.
I have 8 exterior drives with 10 Terabytes total.
I noticed lots of activity accessing drives when running Dreamweaver 2014. I unhooked all drives AND DREAMWEAVER 2014 acted "normal" with it's spinning cursor retired.
Again, no problem with all of the drives on while using Dreamweaver CC.
    Any thoughts from DreamWeaver/Adobe?
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • I currently run Mac Pro with three hard drives. Can I dual boot or even triple boot with Snow Leaopard on one drive and Mountain Lion or Lion on others?

I currently run Mac Pro with three hard drives. Can I dual boot or even triple boot with Snow Leopard on one drive and Mountain Lion or Lion on others?
I need to keep Snow Leopard so that I can run some old softward.

If you are careful you can put at least two on one drive, having Recovery from Lion and Mountain Lion on their own drives though.
CCC can clone Lion Recovery - great for moving or backup.

If you've had it for less than a year, then it's still under warranty.  Take it to an Apple store or an authorized service facility.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434

  • Brand new 3.2ghz Mac Pro... super slow CPU?

My old 2.8 8 core mac pro was scoring 1600s in the thread computation field on xbench, but this new 3.2 8core is scoring considerably lower (600-1200)
Is there something wrong with my computer? The specs are the exact same, minus the harddrive and the graphics card (new one has 500gb drive and 8800gt)
This is right out of the box. I'm running system update to see if it changes anything.

Xbench results for Mac Pro don't seem to be online or available to view, so I couldn't compare yours to others.

Take Xbench with grain of salt, it does not fully understand multi-core systems. It was built with Xcode 2.4 two years ago.

  • My brand new mac book pro runs really slow., My brand new mac book pro runs really slow.

I just bought a mac book pro a couple days ago. It was fine the first couple days, but now it runs really slow.

that might be the one causing your issues - uninstall it and see what happens.
do not install any antivirus software in your Macbook Pro

  • Why is 64 bit Windows 7 Professional running so slow on my new 2011 15" Macbook Pro?

I installed 64 bit Windows 7 Professional onto my new 2011 15" Macbook Pro and while the Mac partition runs fine, everything about the Windows partition seems to be slow.  There's hangups, random loading icons for processes that shouldn't require any work at all (even browsing through Windows Explorer will do this from time to time).  I don't undertand why this is happening, I thought running 64 bit would unleash the full power of my new Mac.  Should I just wipe it and do a clean install of Windows 7 32 bit instead?  I've never had issues/compatibility problems with installations of 32 bit Windows.

Well if you just installed it, then perhaps it's not validated yet and when it does there will be Windows Updates to increase the performance.
I'm sure you followed all the Bootcamp instructions about installing the Apple drivers and all that.
The only thing I can suggest is you reinstall it again after a few days and all the Windows Updates applied if it speeds up or not. Keep hitting it over and over. Make sure you have the free Microsoft Security Essentials installed or you'll get pwned really fast.
Also you have to remember that when Bootcamp carves out a Windows partition it's doing so at the bottom slowest part of your hard drive, the innermost sectors which are much smaller than the sectors OS X uses, therefore Windows will always be a bit slower than OS X, and there really isn't anything you can do about it unless you had a SSD.
I don't think you can install 32 bit Windows, even though it may run, it's only going to use half the registers of your 64bit processors.
Windows 7 64 bit runs fine in my virtual machine, I even get over 45 fps on Cube 2 Sauerbraten, but of course it's a rather light 3D game.
If you got the 2.0 Ghz 15" MacBook Pro, that could explain things, it's has a rather weak video card.

  • Stabilization Slower Than Ever. :( New 12 Core Mac Pro VS 2006 PowerPC Dual

I have concluded testing that the WarpStabilizer in AE using a 12 Core 2.9 GHZ Mac Pro is SLOWER than a dual 2.7 GHZ PowerPc G5 running iMovie and GeeThree's Stabilizer plugin.
There is no excuse for such shotty performance.

    Rick:
Stabilization needs to occur in edited clips. If you don't the stabization data is excessive for centering the frame. The edit comes from within PP. Once a PP project is ready for the Dynamic Link(s) .. a 30 min clip could have 100s of clips that need to be sent to AE via DL.
To do this with one giant 30 min. clip sends the position tracking data all over the place .. and ruins many frames that would otherwise be fine if the clips where divided appropriatley ..
Try it .. or anyone whom wrote the plug in should try it.
It is a very simple process that I expected to do within a very basic function.
The was PP and AE handles it is ______.
I would love to make a demo video about what is happening. :O

  • I recently upgraded my 2007 vintage iMac from the Leapord OS to Mavericks. Now my system runs extremely slow when I start my apps. I only have 2G RAM. Do I need to install more RAM or is this something else?

I recently upgraded my 2007 vintage iMac from its original Leapord OS to the new Mavericks OS and now its really running slow. I've run disk utilities to confirm everything is ok from the hard drive standpoint ... but am wondering if this is simply a memory issue. I only have 2G of DDR2 SDRAM installed. Is there a minimum recommended for the Mavericks OS?  Any other recommendations?  Time to launch any app has more than tripled from what it was before the OS upgrade.

    A combination of things:
    1. Slower CPU and GPU.
    2. Not enough RAM installed.
    3. Upgraded from Leopard.
I would have backed up my files, erased the hard drive, then reinstalled Snow Leopard. Downloaded Mavericks and upgraded Snow Leopard directly. Then I would restore my files.
Upgrade your RAM to at least 4 GBs if supported by your model.
Backup your files, then do the following:
Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Anyone running logic on a 6 or 12 core Mac Pro yet?

Curious as to what the reports are.

Just got off the phone will Apple support. Problem solved, sort of. I do have all current software upgrades, but the problem seems to lie in the fact that I used Migration Assistant to pull settings from an iMac I'd been using as a backup studio machine. Apparently using Migration Assistant between a non-pro and pro machine is a Very Bad Idea. Support suggested doing a P-RAM reset, and that seems to have fixed the problem. The installer is proceeding as it should now. If I run into any other problems, I'll post, but so far, so good.
PS--the support tech suggested the P-RAM as his second choice; he said that using the Migration Assistant may cause problems for other apps, and that the beset solution would be to wipe the disk, reinstall the OS, and do fresh installs on all apps. I may do that if I run into any more problems.

  • Does Apple have a trade-in program for 2009 iMac (to purchase a brand new iMac or Mac Pro?

I have an Apple iMac11,1 with 16Gb memory, 2 Tb drive, Superdrive, QuadCore 2.8 I7 processor, ATIU Radeon HD 4850 Graphics board with 512 VRam.   I'm considering a new computer (either a new i7 iMac or the MacPro desktop) and was wondering if there is a used market within this community or if Apple has a trade-in program for older iMac's.    Does anyone know?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There's no a trade-in program, but if you recycle it, you will get an Apple Gift Card with the value of the iMac that you can use to buy a new Mac at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store > http://www.apple.com/recycling

  • CC Illustrator running extremely slow

I have been working with the creative cloud on a mac version 10.6.8. Everything was working smoothly until this week when suddenly illustrator has started running extremely slow. It takes about a minute to select something, and then will freeze, but never crash. I brought it into the genius bar, and I have enough RAM to support the programs. Indesign and photoshop are working fine, and I tried making a new small document in illustrator but all the same problems remain. Do I need to update to Maverick, or reinstall illlustrator?

    Try to turn syncing off.

  • Macbook Pro 15" Late 2011 - Running Extremely Slow

I've only had my Macbook Pro for about 9 months. Lately it's been running EXTREMELY slow, and freezing up at some times. I have a RAM monitor, and it will sometimes drop below 192MB! I have 4GB installed, and I only run a few light-weight applications, No Final Cut, or Photosop. On a typical day I'll have the following open at once: Safari, Spotify, Minecraft, Mail, Messages
Nothing 4GB can't handle right? I guess not. I don't download from untrusted websites, so I doubt it's a virus. I honestly have no clue. I don't have the Apple Care, and I'm not sure if this is covered in the 1yr limited warranty that is included with the computer. Hopefully someone can help me resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Caleb.
