  • Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are continually crashing

I am having real issues when using Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Linking files continually crashes the software, can anyone help please it's driving me nuts!

    NG TDP,
It is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky, at least for a while, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
In addition to the (far greater) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:

  • PP CC and PP CC 2014 crashing when loading presets, workspaces etc...Help?!

    Hello everyone,
I've been using PP on my Laptop for years, from CS5 to CS6 and CC without any issues. Yesterday I was working on my current project in PP CC and all of a sudden, it crashed and after that refused to load any project, showing me this error messaage: http://i.imgur.com/I6kL3G8.jpg.
So I went ahead, and cleared all the temp files, the media cashes and so on, restartet the computer, cleaned the registry, tried different harrdrives, tried creating new projects -  all the same. I then got it narrowed down to the following: When I delete everything in the folder C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\7.0 it works flawlessly - but of course all my workspaces, presets and custom keys etc.  (which go back to CS5) are gone. I even upgraded to PP CC 2014 just now , but upon importing my precious presets, it chrashes again, giving me the exact same error message. So I tried copying in ONLY the .keys file or ONLY the "Effect Presets and Custom Items" etc. - no chance, if ANY preset file from before is in there,  PP doesn't load any projects.
Could someone please help me with this? I'd absolutely HATE to loose all those presets, because I CANNOS SIMPLY restore all that in like 15 minutes. Not even an hour for that matter. I hope the descripiton of the problem is clear and thanks in advance for any tipps.

That kind of did the trick: I did what you said, and PP openend without crashing, but all my presets still weren't showing up... so I synced my settings with iCloud (I never did this before) and then I copied my OLD presets in the Profile-CreativeCloud-" folder (not the "Profile-[Username]" folder), synched AND THAT DID THE TRICK. That saved everything, but the custom effect presets... what seems to be the problem there is the following Premiere pro CC2014.2 crashes on launch: c:\cloudroom\releases\2014.09\shared\adobe\mediacore\mediafoundation\api\inc\Keyframe/Key frame.h-146
But at least I only lost douzends of presets but nod hundreds, so thank you very much Ann!

  • Illustrator CS3 and Illustrator V10 compatibility

    Hi
Can Illustrator v10 open Illustrator cs3 files?
    If so which extension types?
I am mainly interested in EPS and AI file formats but will be nice to know if there are other extension types as well.
    Thanks
    Dave

Probably. I've never downloaded vector art from istockphoto, but I have from shutterstock, which is similar and has some of the same creators. None of the files I have downloaded use any feature that's not in version 8. Even if the art was created using 9 or higher tools, those features are no longer in the file. Remember the company want as may people as possible using the files, so they have to be compatible with the most possible software.
Also, I don't see anything in that image that requires higher versions than 8. The only possibility, and it's a long shot, is that live Pathfinder effects are used on some shapes.

  • InDesign CC 2014 crashes on startup, can I get CC back?

    Hi,
I discovered on the last update of my CC that I also acquired the 2014 versions. I didn't realise that I was now running 2 versions of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. My mac is old, (that last of the 17" ones), but up until this update and additional installation of CC 2014, it was running fine. Now I cannot open an INDD file without the 'rainbow wheel of death' eventually occurring in a forced shutdown. I didn't realise I still also had my old CS5.5 Design Premium, so I proceeded to uninstall them, then the InDesign CC version as well, so I only had the most recent InDesign CC 2014 on my mac. I don't think this is a space issue, as there was at least 23GB still available with all 3 versions on my mac.
So now I have the following: Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC, and InDesign CC 2014. Now every time my InDesign CC 2014 loads up (takes forever) it freezes the mac, forcing a manual shutdown. I tried to download InDesign CC back last night but there's no link available in my CC menu.
I am running Mac OS Lion 10.7.5 - I can't upgrade my OS any further than that on the 17" model.
Processor 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Realising I have a 'vintage' model, I currently have a new one on order but until it comes I need to keep using my 17" in order to meet deadlines. Would really appreciate someone's help here.

You now know that you should never uninstall old until you are sure new works

  • InDesign CC 2014 crashes on startup

I am encountering an odd error every time I try and start inDesign CC 2014.
It starts loading and then an APPCRASH error occurs. The log suggests the problem lies with PlugPlugOwl.dll
If I uninstall inDesign and remove the preferences and then reinstall I can run the program but if I quit at all or inDesign crashes, the next time I try to load it it will crash upon startup with the same error.
As you can imagine this is incredibly frustrating. As far as I know I am not using any plugins from a previous version of Adobe CS.
Every other CC 2014 program appears to run without any problems.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Are you using any third party plugins at all? Font Manager? Does it happen if you start up in Safe Mode, or if you log on with a different user account?

  • Photoshop CC (2014) crashing on startup

Photoshop 2014 is crashing on startup after first time install.
Dialog appears "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working"
It seems to happen within seconds of startup about 80% of the time. Other times it will not crash for minutes.
Anyone have any ideas. Any help is very much appreciated.

I did forward a copy of the crash dump to AMD, and yes I am hopeful that the next beta or RC will be more stable for my situation.
So, after creating a safety backup image of my primary partition, I have been trying to isolate the conditions which trigger the blue screen.
I cannot honestly say I have tried EVERY possible PS Performance combination.  But I have changed the drawing mode to basic, and unchecked "Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate Computation”, and unchecked "Use OpenCL”.   I experience blue screens with multiple performance settings, but I have not tried all of them….yet   If you could suggest any specific setting I should play with, please let me know.
I have noticed that if PS CC 2014 is started when I have no other programs running, I have not yet bluescreened. To expand on information I omitted previously, the blue screens I experience happen immediately or within seconds of PS startup, whether it is called from LR5 or started up independently. I frequently have several other programs running concurrently; MS-Outlook, Visio, Photomatix, VmWare, etc. and have not been able to replicate the crashing when no other programs are running except for Lightroom and Photoshop.  The blue screens are definitely triggered by PS startup, but if I can figure out the previously running program combinations which contribute to the crashing, I can probably modify my work habits for the time being.  That would probably suffice until the hoped-for newer version of the Catalyst software is available.

  • Mac OS 10.10 - Indesign CC 2014 Crashing on startup

I recently updated my mac OS to Yosemite 10.10 and for the life of me I can't launch Adobe Indesign CC 2014 without crashing. I have tried removing and reinstalling the cc apps as well as attempting to replace the pref files to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I just had a similar problem, InDesign immediately and repeatedly crashing at startup, with this error message:
    Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Couldn't posix_spawn: error 35'
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException
    abort() called
Gibberish to me. I found this thread and started looking for the Cleaner Tool, but then I found that Creative Cloud (the "umbrella" app) needed updating. I went along with that, and after updating everything works just as it should.
Maybe my experience can help someone else. Check to see that Creative Cloud is updated before trying anything else.

  • Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 and Indesign CC 2014 Crashing

I have had some significant issues with Adobe Illustrator and Indesign CC over the past week.  Previous to this I had no issues.  Now, each time I run the programs and place an image, they will crash the moment I try to move the placed image.  I am running a macbook retina with plenty of processing power.  I have tried reinstalls, restarts etc to absolutely no avail.  This is very frustrating.
If it's useful I can include my most recent crash report.  Any help anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Cklapwyk
Are you using the Creative Cloud 2013 or 2014 applications? Are you receiving any errors? Are you using any font management software like Extensis suitcase?
See this link if you are & update the plugin. http://blog.extensis.com/adobe/extensis-compatiblity-adobe-cc-2014.php
Have you tried resetting the application preferences to see if that helps?
See: Illustrator Help | Setting preferences
    InDesign Help | Setting preferences
Can you create new files and place images from the desktop with out crashing? Does this happen when working with simple objects?
You might try creating a new administrator user account to see if the apps will launch under the new user account.
    Thanks
    Scott

  • Illustrator CC 2014 Crashes on Startup

    Hi,
I recently updated to Illustrator CC 2014, along with other Adobe programs such as Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign etc. All other programs launch fine, but Illustrator always crashes when initialzing a plugin or loading the font library. I'm unsure if it's definitely linked because it's not always the same plugin being loaded when it crashes. However, I deleted the plugins folder and the program loaded correctly, but I obviously couldn't do anything inside the program.
I'm running Windows 8 64 bit, and the programs are all installed on a SSD. I've tried compatibility mode, running as administrator and reinstalling the program. If I can't fix this issue soon I'm just going to revert back to a previous version.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Audemus,
You may try to reinstall, using the full three step way:
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

  • Illustrator cc 2014 crash when startup in Mac 10.9.3

Trying to start cc 2014 after installed. (in Mac 10.9.3)
but crashed.         Crashed Thread:  0  Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
tried to move out third party plug in as mention by adobe help blow but still not working.
    Solution
In the Finder, browse to the folder that contains Illustrator plug-ins.
Move all third-party plug-ins to a different folder.
(Important) Press and hold Command + Option + Shift, launch Illustrator, and keep the keys pressed until Illustrator launches. This step clears all Illustrator preferences.
Caution:It's necessary to press the keyboard combination (Command + Option + Shift) in the same order as mentioned above.
(Optional) If you require your third-party plug-ins when you use Illustrator, try adding one plug-in at a time. Each time you add a plug-in, ensure that you follow step 3 to start Illustrator.

    solve the problem.
found the third party plug in causing the problem.
remove from plug in folder solved the problem.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 and Indesign CC 2014 crash when printing

Ever since I installed the CC 2014 versions of Indesign and Photoshop, I am absolutely incapable of printing. As soon as the print dialog comes up, the programs crash. (I don't have this issue with Illustrator CC 2014.) It's quite frustrating. Fortunately, I still have "regular' CC on my computer, so I can print Photoshop files from there. Indesign is a little more problematic because they keep changing the file structure, so i've basically abandoned CC 2014 until the printing issue is solved.
    I run Windows 8.1 x64.
Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, how did you fix it (if at all). I can't seem to find any straightforward fixes when I do search, only others with comparable issues. Thanks.

I had the trial version for a month and everything worked fine but now since I've purchased a subscription I am experiencing the same situation with Photoshop CC 2014 and have not been able to find a solution.
