Illustrator CC closes upon opening in Windows 8

http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1413398?tstart=0 is dead in the water. Please, is there anybody who can help.
I have a brand new machine running Widows 8.
Technical specifications within requirements to run the program.
Installed Creative Cloud manager.
Installed Illustrator CC.
Restarted machine.
Illustrator CC opens. 10 seconds. Closes.
Restart Illustrator CC. Open new file. Opens file. Closes.
Restart Illustrator CC. Open Preferences. Close Preferences. Closes.
Uninstalled all Adobe components, including Creative Cloud Manager and Illustrator CC. Clean up with Adobe cleaner Tool.
Reinstall all of the above.
Restart machine 3 times.
Open Illustartor CC. Same thing...closes.
sought assistance in the above thread. Contacted by Adobe technical staff. Two e-mails...nothing.
Attempt number 3: Uninstall. Clean. Reinstall. Same thing.
Search internet for other possible causes, similar problems and assistance...nothing.
Adobe is quick to take my money, but not quick to help rectify or assist.

Kustomfiend,
I am sorry to see that the issue is still unsolved.
I have tried to renew the double staff alert. Hopefully, that thread will be undead by Monday (when it breaks in the east or in the west).

If you're pushing Option at the exact moment you're clicking the Dock icon, it's supposed to do that. Wait until just after clicking it.

  • After updating, several apps close upon opening.Any ideas?

I recently updated my ipod touch, now several apps close upon opening them. Any ideas?

    - Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try downloading/installing a free app.  That has worked for some others.

  • How do you close your open app windows?

How do you close your open app windows?

    Force the app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

  • Illustrator CC closes after opening

Illustartor CC closes upon clicking on "Open File" or even maximizing screen.
I am under pressure, as I have a deadline to meet. I uninstalled Illustrator and re-installed. I keep getting "Complete registration" messages. Sure, where's my registration code? Yes, I followed the instructions, as per Adobe's instruction. Nothing! No codes no verifications...nothing!
    Help!

    Kustomfiend,
Just to make sure: Are the Verdana and Tahoma font families installed and enabled as TTF?
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Illustrator CC Crashes Upon Opening

I am trying desperately to open Illustrator CC on my brand new iMac running mountain lion and it won't open! It just crashes instantly upon opening. Please help!

    CM,
There seem to be many complaints like yours. I believe some of them are still unsolved, whereas som may be ascribed to know reasons.
As a first thing, you may try to look at the following, taken from a list of other things to try, when it is not corrupted preferences (I can post the full general list if this does not help):
    15. Version CC crashing, quitting, being unresponsive, inactive or with delays in showing changes, or presenting other strangenesses, if you have a font manager: Make sure you have the fonts Tahoma and Verdana installed (without duplicates).

  • Illustrator CS2 closes after opening

I'm on iMac 2.16mhz Intel, system 10.4.11. Illustrator CS2 closes immediately after opening. I've followed some of the other threads describing this problem and have trashed the Settings and "com." files mentioned in earlier threads, but it still quits. Illustrator opens, then when I try to open a new document it suddenly quits. There are no error messages given that identify the problem. I want to avoid reinstalling the whole Suite, b/c I've already upgraded some of the apps to CS3. Suggestions?

After a lot of trial and error, I noticed an Enfocus Instant PDF in the Plug-ins folder. After I deleted this, it worked fine. For others having this problem, I also found out that Myriad is the default font for Illustrator CS2. If you don't have it activated, it may cause the same crash problem.

  • "View Source" window immediately closes upon opening

WHen I select either Tools - Web Developer - Page Source" or right-click "View Page Source" the window opens and then immediately closes. I have Firebug loaded. This window action also occurs when I try to "Configure Editors" in FireBug.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 will not open in Windows Vista

All I get is "Adobe Illustrator has stopped working"
Then i get "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
I've tried reinstalling 6 times now, and it still wont work. I dont know where to start. Please help ASAP I have a presentation to submit!!

I beleive you are looking at the right place ,
    Click the start Button
At the bottom serach box , type "amt3.log" , does the file show up in the list , if no
then I would say contact Adobe support ,and get this fixed.
The problem could be either at the time of installation or launch.
also can you share the install logs:-
1 .Navigate to the log files in one of the following folders:
    Windows 32 bit (XP, Vista, 7): \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
    Windows 64 bit (XP, Vista, 7): \Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
The log filename includes the product name and install date, followed by ".log.gz." The extension .gz indicates a compressed format.
Use a decompression utility such as Winzip or StuffIt to decompress the .gz file. Once uncompressed, the log file is a plain text file.
Open the .log file using WordPad (Windows)
copy and paste the log file in the pastebin.com

  • Photoshop is unable to Register/ Auto-Closes upon opening

    Alright,
I've seen at least one other user with this problem, and it's nothing that can be resolved by signing in and out of the Adobe CC application, or even the Ctrl+Shift+Alt and opening trick.
So recently I went with the $9.99 a month package for Adobe Creative Cloud containing Photoshop and Lightroom.
No matter what I try, it won't ever prompt me to input a serial to register Photoshop, therefore any attempts at opening it set off it's anti-piracy measures and make it force-close immediately after opening/ after it finishes loading.
When I am able to try and register/ finalize registration, it wants me to "complete registration by updating your account information," yet the page continuously loops and clicking "Update and Continue" brings me back to the same page. Which disallows me to register Photoshop.
This is the reason why I, and possibly others, are unable to use Photoshop, for it auto-closes after fully loading, since it cannot be registered the same way Lightroom is.
(Lightroom is registered immediately via a prompt message upon first startup asking for a serial code, one of which that is alread inserted/ auto-inserted by the Adobe Creative Cloud application.)
Upon further investigation to prove my point, on my account the only product registered is Lightroom.

I've tried the customer support chat.
    Multiple times.
Possibly upwards of 16. Each time the representative went down the same list and copy/ pasted the same answers.
It's sad that I was the one to narrow it down and have the problem figured out.
Apparently I have to wait to contact their special support team on Monday to get this resolved.
Although, it appears the package is "Photoshop Photography Program (For CS3+ customers)," which is not the version listed and advertised all over the site.
(This package would indicate that I would not be able to use Photoshop since I have not owned Photoshop prior to purchasing this package.)
Yet the only package that this applies to is this one:
    http://screencast.com/t/pDylveniasI
    This is insanely annoying.
I would much rather do support via email, and I would also much rather have a more clear product description if the one I selected turned out to have been falsly advertised.
Message was slightly edited by: MrNameloc

I was on their Chat Support yesterday for 6 hours. Possibly a bit longer.
Anyways, after waiting 4 hours for the Technician, the technician walked me through uninstalling Adobe CC and re-installing, but before he had me 'trash' the old preferences.
Below is the file path (highlighted in blue, obviously), and the items that were changed.
opm.db was deleted after changing the OOBE folder by adding the '.old' to it. (In the picture you can see the new versus the old...)
Then afterwards they had me to make sure Adobe CC would not run, then had me to un-install it and re-install. Then had me to un-install Photoshop and re-install.
(Well, they had me to un-install Photoshop CC, delete Adobe CC's preferences, un-install Adobe CC, re-install Adobe CC, then re-install Photoshop.)
    http://screencast.com/t/hjaPTVD2wl
Did not work for me. You/ anyone else could try and save yourself 6+ hours in their support chat.
They even assured me that, on their end, Photoshop had been registered on two machines already under my account; Meanwhile everytime I view my Adobe Products and Services, it still only lists Lightroom.
Trying to convince them that it's registration is pretty hard. I've seen people with cracks of Photoshop CC, didn't work because Adobe CC keeps re-installing itself if it isn't allowed to be connected to the internet. (They were having the same problem as us; Opening Photoshop had it auto-close, and since Adobe CC cloned itself the anti-piracy measures kicked in causing Photoshop to do this.) However, since the cracks only install the trial version, it's still functional for 30 days. Therefore if you're able to find a trial version of Photoshop, or maybe even get a pirated copy, you'll be prompted to put in a Serial; Then possibly ask Adobe for your Serial, register and activate Photoshop, and maybe it'll work.
Only reason why I suggest a cracked copy is because you are able to actually download the trial without signing into Adobe CC.
Plus, it will actually give you a prompt to input a serial key. Unlike the Adobe CC installer.

  • Adobe Reader XI closes when opened and Windows message states a 'Patch' is missing?

Can anyone help. Prior to Adobe Reader XI I had no problems. When opening  XI it asks me to close as there is a problem. Then I get a message from Windows (XP) stating that a 'Patch' is missing.

    Uninstall Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
then download and reinstall from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • After FF is closed sometime I go to start FF I get a popup saying Ff is already running please close to open new window.

After closing FF latest version 7.0.1 I try to start ff again I get a popup window saying FF is already running please close FF to start a new window.
To get FF to run I have to log off then log on to windows and then everything is fine.
This does not occur all the time it is an intermittent problem, but is a PITA when it happens

May be your Firefox is running in the background. Ctrl+alt+del will bring up the task manager. See if FF is still running in applications or processes. If yes, kill it.

  • When downloading, it does not finish the download. Firefox stops and closes all open tabs/windows

    no special webside or file

Is that Firefox safe mode or Windows safe mode?
If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
*Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Indesign and Illustrator CS6 crash upon opening. Photoshop is fine.

    Hi,
Everytime I launch CS6 indesign and illustrator i keep getting the classic "indesign quit unexpectedly..." message. I have already run the Adobe Application Manager and updated everything and uninstalled, reinstalled both items again and yes I have restarted.
Falling drastically behind on work and looking for solutions fast! Any ideas anyone? Very gratefully received!
    Thanks

    did you clear the caches?
and onthe off-chance that ID got far enough to leave something behind, find the InDesign Recovery folder (a hidden folder, I think, since Snow Leopard or Lion) and empty it if there's anything there.

    Bob,
Did you reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger)?
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.
