Illustrator CC crash on start up (Windows 7 64bit)

Hi, my Illustrator CC will load up with the splash screen, then bring up the workstation, but 1-2 seconds after opening the workstation windows gives an error message saying that the program has stopped responding and needs  to close. i've looked on the other forum posts similar to this and none of those methods have worked. What are your suggestions? Here is the detailed error message.

Have you cleared the preferences? If not, go to Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0 [or 8.0 if you're actually on CC2014, not CC()7.x], and rename the "<username>-Profile" folder. Then when you launch, Premiere will create entirely new prefs.

  • Acrobat X crashes on start in Windows 7 64Bit

Whe i try to start Acrobat X, nothing happens. Acrobat X does not start.
No error message, no splashscreen, no entry in Windows-Logs.
The task is visible in windows taskmanager for very short time, just noticeable.
I have installed CS6 and all other programs are running.
I have installed the update 10.1.3 for acrobat from adobe website.
This error encountered for the first time today.
Since Updateing to CS6 from CS5.5 some weeks ago, everything worked fine.
    Thank you for any suggestions,
    Klaus Rambow

I have googled a lot and i found some hints to the adobe logfiles in the users temp directory.
I checked them and found some lines pointing to a licence problem.
The solution for me was the following:
    - uninstall Acrobat, leave the rest of CS6 untouched
    - restart PC
    - start Photoshop
    - install Acrobat X from CS6-DVD, enter licence-code in setup
    - start Photoshop again
    - start Acrobat, search for Updates and install them
I am not sure if starting Photoshop does have any effect concerning this problem, be i have read that this worked in another case, so is just did it.
I have wasted so much time on this problem, that these seconds does not matter.
Until now (approx. 8 hours after fixing), everything works fine.
May be this will help some ot the other guys experiencing this weird problem.

  • Itunes doesnt start in Windows 7 64bit pc

ITunes doesnt start in Windows 7 64bit pc. I have Tried to reinstall again for so many times. Reinstall quick time player so many times. ITunes never starts. However in task manager always there is iTunes process running in the iTunes.exe.*32 name.
Please help me to fix this issue.
    Thanks,

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • HelpPane.exe automatically starts with Windows 7 64bit.

HelpPane.exe automatically starts with Windows 7 64bit.  I have to start task Manager and disable it or else it keeps popping up.  I cant find where to disable this service from startup.  Please Help.

    Hello
I found a simple yet effective solution for this problem, my friend had the same issue so instinctively as a technician, I suspect this was a malware of somekind so I re-formatted and installed Win7 funny it's still there, so I did a Hard disk wipe using
Dalvik's and re-partitioned and formatted again, to my surprise it still have the same problem.
So I ask Mr. Goo' old Mr. Google for answer, but I've found more complications, sorry for the story, so without further a do, the solution.
Boot to safe mode. (may also work in "normal mode")
    Go to Task Manager>
    Click the Services Tab>
Right click "HelpPane.exe" or Help and support service>
    Select Properties>
    Click the Security tab>
Click the Advanced tab (for permissions options)
Then select the "permissions entries" one at a time>
    Click Change Permissions>
    Then click Edit>
CLEAR ALL THE CHECK BOX FOR ALL ENTRIES
This should prevent access to the HelpPane.exe to all users/programs.
This resolved my friends Windows 7 "Help and Support thingy" issue, hope it does yours too.
Message me for questions and/or clarifications/corrections.
    Thank you

  • Why does Illustrator CC crash on start up on the PC?

As above, every time I start Illustrator CC it loads then crashes immediately. How do I fix this?

    Please follow these steps:
Open the “Task Manager” when the Adobe Illustrator CC crash window is displayed.
In the Task Manager window right-click on the name/string “Adobe Illustrator CC” and select the option “Create Dump File” in the context menu
It will display a dialog which says that it will create a file “Illustrato.dmp” in your “Temp” folder. Click on OK to create this. Wait for the action to get this completed.
Once the above file gets completed you can have this file by typing “%temp%” in your “Run” window (press “window button + r” on the keyboard). On clicking the enter key the TEMP folder can be opened.
Look there for the file name “Illustrator.dmp” and share it with us a dropbox link on [email protected]
Please also mention the thread link when sending the dropbox link.

  • Illustrator CS4 Crashes At Start Up

I start Illustrator CS4 and it doesn't want to open past updating font menu.  I can get the program to work when I delete the AI preferences, and the font caches, and restarting, but it only is a temporary fix because it will happen again even in the same day.  Any suggestions, I haven't installed any new fonts or anything.
It often freezes up too and won't let me use my task manager.  I use windows xp.

Having the same issue.  Suddenly CS4 Illustrator was crashing after splash screen after working fine for many months.
I installed the trial for CS5 after no solution was found and now neither will stay open past the splash screen.

  • Illustrator CC crashes after starting up

I have seen this questioned more times than I can count and I've tried more fixes than that. I haven't seen one solution for this on all the forums.
Anyway, my Adobe Illustrator CC closes/crashes right after opening up. I get the dialogue box that says what's new and it will doesn't crash until after I hit okay, then in a few seconds it crashes.
I have Windows 8.1, all the fonts that are needed, I've tried deleting my preferences and re-installing many times.
I contacted Adobe and they told me it may be a registry error and that they would fix it for over $200 so I haven't done that because it's absurd and I don't think it's a registry error. I have Photoshop CC and it runs perfectly.
I would really like the opinion of anyone willing to help this is really frustrating.
    Thanks in advanced

    I finally fixed it!!!!
For anyone else having this problem this is how I fixed it
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
Find these two folders and move SLStore and SLCache folders to another place. Illustrator auto-generates them and then it worked!!!!
    * C:\ProgramData is hidden, you should see and operate hidden files.

  • Media Manager Update - Crashes at Start up - Windows XP

I received a notification while using Verizon Media Manager today that an update was available. I thought good maybe this addresses the constant crashing when using the user interface on my set top box, but instead I got an update which made the software completely unusable anymore. Now the program simply crashes at start up. I have tried uninstalling and installing with reboots in between many times without any luck. This has got to be simply the worst software ever written. I have yet to see an update improve anything. And Verizon keeps adding features rather than addressing issues like the software crashes on the set top box very frequently especially when attempting to fast foward/ rewind, and now the software crashes on Windows...
I guess I won't be using it anymore cause I don't really have much of a choice....
Fix your software, Verizon. It's pathetic.

Sound like it's a problem with Media Manager running on XP.  The latest version works fine on Windows 7 and Vista.  Maybe Verizon missed a compatibility test of some sore when it wrote the update that's crashing on your machine.

  • Problems installing and starting on Windows 7 64bit. error message - The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.

Hi I'm having problems installing and starting itunes program on Windows 7 64bit. After install the following error message is flagged - The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would really appreciate any pointers!

  • Illustrator CS3 crash on start-up

    Hi everyone!
I've got this really weird problem. I was using Illustrator CS3 on my old PC which was Sempron 2300+, 512 RAM, 80 GB HDD, 64 MB Video and it was running fine, although it's obvious there weren't enough resources for it to work properly. Now I've got this laptop: Acer Aspire 5720Z-4662 with Intel Pentium dual-core processor T3210 (1.43 Ghz), 1 GB DDR2 RAM, 120 GB HDD and 384 MB Video, which is much better than my old PC, so it means it should definitely work better. Well, it's not! It's not even loading. I've installed it, the same version as on the PC, I enter the serial number and the activation code i got and it just crashes - i get this stupid unknown error from windows. I've must have reinstalled it 10 times by now and it's still the same thing. I've got Windows XP with SP2 and the latest updates, but i don't know if that matters.
There is one thing though - this Acer laptop does not support Windows XP, it comes with Windows Vista and it's almost impossible to find all the drivers for Windows XP and make them work. After one week of intense work I managed to do it. Everything was working fine and now that i've installed Illustator it's welcome back frustration and desperation! I've got a suspicion that Illustrator ain't working because of this forced change from Vista to XP, but I've also got Photoshop CS3 Extended and it's working perfectly.
I would REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix that, because I really need it now that I've got myself a job with designing in vectors.
Thanks for you're time and have a nice day!

    Hi All-
I'm using Illy CS3 on Windows Vista. Everything was working fine 'til Monday morning, when Illy stopped saving my files (not responding). At first I thought it was a corrupt file. After much time and effort I discovered it was all files. Then I found these forums and after 2 days of trouble shooting, I at least know my way around a PC better! On one of the forums someone suggested trying a different user name, Illy will work when I so this, but not under my user name.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    So far I have:
trashed my pref. folder (more than a few times)
uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe creative Suite 3 (one time)
Checked/started/restarted the print spool (a couple of times)
and have renamed Version Cue to Old Version Cue (twice-before and after installation)
    Please help if you can.
    Thanks,
    Lisa

  • Illustrator CS4 crashes after start-up.... PLEASE HELP!!

Every time I open Illustrator CS4, it seems as if it is going to open normally.... the program interface starts to build.... and then the little start up box starts to load... and then POOF!!! it closes itself in a split second out of NOWHERE. why is this happening and can anyone help me??? please!! I love illustrator CS4 and have gotten quite used to features such as live trace and as I can't find any other type of program that has a feature like that for instantly and elegantly turning bitmaps into vectors, I am currently stuck in the middle of all my projects!!!! please help me....

so how do i disable/ delete the fonts that may be causing the problem? i don't know how to do that, even tho i've tried numerous times to the best of my knowledge ever since you told me it could be the cause. also, i haven't installed any fonts, so could that still be the problem?
    Probably not.
what do you mean by a "scratch disk"?
In the Illustrator Preferences there is a setting for a scratch disk I d not know how you access the preferences on a PC someone else will have to help you with this what is a hard disk space allocated as a kind of virtual memory
for the tasks you are doing in Illustrator it is good to have a dedicated partition with enough free clear continuous space to absorb the amount of work that is being asked of Illustrator.
One of the reasons for this is that Illustrator has unlimited undos available to it so all the work done by Illustrator in a given session has to written somewhere in a sort of cache file this can take a lot of space and if it is not continuous
it has to piece all this together and that sometimes causes problems. It would probably be a good feature to free up this cache or virtual memory other than quitting and relaunching. So that is what this is all about the scratch disk.
and how do i trash my preferences?
Trash the prefs: +C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Illustrator+ on Win Vista.
i'm running windows xp and i've tried to find out how to do all this but all the instructions i find are for mac
In your case I believe it is in the C:/Documents and Settings but you have to look a little further down the hierarchy.
please help and thanks for everything....
Perhaps Mylenium or some one else can direct you to where you have to go on XP.
Also it just occurred to me…did you activate the application? If you did not it will always crash on startup.

  • Illustrator cc crashes on start up win 8 - pantone color manager issues?

I was at a clients office yesterday,  installed Pantone Color manager on my laptop (I have Adobe Illustrator CC) and on their desktop (They have latest copy of Illustrator, but not cc, it's disc). And imported some pantone swatches into illustrator on both machines.
Since I shut down my laptop on leaving their office and restarted, Illustrator freezes on start up. Their machine is ok.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled illustrator.  I checked that it wasn't win updates that is causing this and ran an update. I'm stuck now, still no solution, I'm travelling abroad and I need illustrator!  Could anyone walk me through any possible solutions?

I selected the swatch card that I needed using the Pantone Colour Services manager application - I selected a Pantone Textiles colour card - same colour ref guide as my paper swatch book - because it doesn't come as standard with the software, you then choose which Adobe application you want to export it to following the instructions here http://pantone.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1803
In ordder to do this, I  installed Pantone Color Services manager from the pantone website - I note that this software seemed to be bundled with X-Rite Services Device manager which installed at the same time.  Despite removing this and reinstalling and also trying to use Windows system restore (which didn't work and threw up an error message saying it could not restore) the application still does not launch. Do I need to go into the registry and alter anything?

  • Adobe Premiere CC Crash on start up Windows 7 64-bit

Hey everyone.  I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it.  Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
    8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC.  Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves.  Still no luck.
    Anyone ever encountered this??
Please help, I'm at my wits end!
    Thanks!

  • Illustrator CC crashes on launch in Windows 8 w/ no wacom drivers installed

Oddly enough, Illustrator CC is crashing about 5 seconds after I launch it, around the time that the little trial window pops up. Obviously I can't see if I even like the software if the darn thing doesn't work. I have no wacom drivers installed which seems to be the issue people with windows were running into. I don't think it's creating a crash log because I can't find it. I'm beyond frustrated with Adobe at this point. Please, please help.

I believe so, but I included some screencaps of the font faces themselves just in case. They're all TTF. No font management. Thanks for the reply.

  • Illustrator CS2: Crash on Start-up

I am running (or, trying to run!) Illustrator CS2 on an XP-Professional OS. It used to run fine. But now, whenever I try to start it, I get a "Runtime Error" during initilization, and it won't go any farther.
Any tips on what I can do? Thanks!

Thanks, Ben. That path doesn't exist on my system, however.
There is no "\Application Data" folder in that location. The only folders I have in "C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>\" are: "\Desktop"; "\Favorites"; "\Files"; "\Start Menu"; "\Templates"; "\Toolbars (custom)"; and, "\WINDOWS". In fact, I did a search for a folder named "\Application Data", and did not find one anywhere on my system.
There is an "\Adobe" folder in "C:\Program Files", but there are not "\Application Data" or "\Illustrator CS2 Settings" folders anywhere in there, either.
Any other ideas where I might find the problem files to be deleted? Or is the fact that I don't have the "\Application Data" folder you mentioned, itself an indication of a problem?
