Illustrator CC crashes after printing

Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 crashes every time I print a job. Reminding me to save early and often. Any advise? I hate to think that I'm going to have to re-install, but my ears are open.

Well, I don't use FCW. I use a Fiery RIP controller that works with our printer (imagePASS A1), so that's not my issue   I have the latest drivers installed on those, but I think it's connected with several things conflicting somehow, as it seems to be with CC 2014 (not the original CC) on Mavericks OS (10.9.4) and only when accessing the Fiery RIP Features. If I don't change any of the Fiery features (specific paper, folding options, etc.) then it doesn't crash. It does sound like it's a specific issue with the UI plugin on both INDD and AI CC 2014 versions.

  • Adobe CS3 crashes after print job

I've tried the fix from Adobe listed here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/crash-printing-illustrator-indesign-cs3 .html
Restarted InDesign and still crashes after the print job goes to the queue.
    Any other ideas?

What I can say is, all my CS3 Apps work fine with 10.6.2 Snow Leopard,,,,
My problems started after updating to 10.6.3. And it's about the Serial Number in my case. LogicBoard Serial # is SystemSerialNumb.
I'm going to wait a while. At least until 10.6.4.... Surely Lazy @S* Adobe won't fix anything. And my luck is quite slim for Apple to properly input a serial # into the logic free of charge because I opened my iMac and replaced the Hard Drive myself. The Job won't be Cheap. I finished replacing the Hard Drive just weeks before Apple shot out 10.6.3 which really blew. Had I of known, I would'nt of spent my time and money on it.
IF I can't resort to a fix after that. I will take my 500GB Drive Out, put back the Original 160GB Drive
    and sell my iMac.
I just wouldn't like keeping my Macs OS outdated. I can't even get security updates because I'm staying behind. I'll probably go for a new iMac or Simpler Mac Mini where I can use any display size I want.
    My iMac is a Late 2006 2Ghz 17" 3GB Ram & (500GB HDD Installed myself)

We have a problem with Windows 8 in combination with IE 10 and printing reports.
When we print a report from the Report Manager 'http://<servername>/reports' the browser crashed after a print.
Sometimes before printing and somthimes after printing or when you close the browser.
Al other operating systems like XP, Vista, Windows 7 with different IE versions have no problem.

The same error occured when printing from our Internet application and the reportviewer.
(ASP application written in Visual Studio 2010 and reportviewer version 10.)

Is there a fix for this problem?

    Dear Mike Yin,
Thank you for your response. Your answer was the
reason for finding the real problem.
In december 2010 a SQL Server 2008 fix was the cause. I don't remember exactly the problem, but we changed the RSCLIENTPrint-x86.cab file. But instead to use the version of SQL Server 2008 we used the version of SQL Server 2008
    R2 (10.50.1600.1). This worked until
Windows 8 (Internet Explorer crashed when printing).
We fixed this problem by using the RSClientPrint-x86.cab file from SQL server 2008 (10.0.5500.0).
But we now get the known problem that the
activeX always must be installed again.
The reason for this is that the version of
    the SQL Server (10.0.5512.0)
and the rsclientprint.dll (10.0.5500.0) is different. SQL Server is newer (caused
    by a security patch (KB2716436)).
Do you know when this problem will be resolved
    by Microsoft?
    Work arrounds
I've also tried to install the RSClientprint.dll
every time automatically (without user interaction).
But this will be delayed the printing for more
    than 4 seconds. This
    is very annoying.
Another workaround is to generate a PDF and print the PDF. But this is also
    a lot slower.
Uninstall the security patch. but I don't know the security risk.

  • Illustrator CS3 Crashes after "Error Loading Plugins"

    so confused.
Upgraded to a new PC with Windows 7 64bit Enterprise.
Installed my CS3, and Illustrator crashes after "Error Loading Plugins".
I moved the .aip files in question from the folder to my desktop, then put them back, but 3 are still there. The other 3 resolved.
Took the 3 in question back out, then back in. no change
Left the 3 out. No "Error Loading Plugins" but still crashes with a "stopped working" non descript message.
I have been trying to search all over the net for six hours to no avail. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

with Enterprise edition you should be able to download from Microsoft a winXP32 bit virtual OS and run CS3 Ai in that mode.

  • Application crashes after printing

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but we are a K-8 school district just beginning to Manage the network using AD/OD. Ever since we've begun this process, Word documents have crashed immediately after printing. Printing is not managed, but seems to have been adversely affected by us starting this process. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

Sonal2890, thanks for your inquiry and I will try to provide as much information as possible.
    1. What happens if inspite of using 'Print on both sides', you check Duplex setting from Properties dialog (As you do previously)?
The Adobe Reader X Shuts down and is unable to print and displays a message stating it has incurred a problem. Please note, we are running IE7.
    2. What happens if you print with any other application (Word/notepad)
The documents print fine. IT is only when you print this particular document which is enabled in protected mode and double sided. Have tried the patch and the resolution of unticking the duplex methodology and the issue still persists.
Crash Logs have already been submitted already. Have added the SEnd Error Report that was provided when the error occurs. The PDF stopped printing after page 6 of a 236 page document and provided the error above.

  • Illustrator CS4  Crashes when Printing.

My Illustrator CS4 Crashes when I try to print.... Can Anybody Print with 10.7 and Illustrator CS4 ?

I had a similar problem.  Just installed 10.7.2 and found i couldnt print using my old verison of CS3.  So i went to the Adobe page and found the following solution (copied straight from the site).
    Issue
Printing from InDesign CS3 or CS4, or Illustrator CS3 or CS4 on Apple OS 10.7 (code named Lion) results in the Adobe application crashing. Acrobat 8.x is also installed, or was installed on the system previously.
    Solution
The following workaround can be applied to get these older versions of Illustrator and InDesign to print on this newer operating system. Remove the following files and back them up:
    [Hard Drive]/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/en.lproj
    [Hard Drive]/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_CN.lproj
    [Hard Drive]/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Ja.lproj
    [Hard Drive]/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/ko.lproj
    [Hard Drive]/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_TW.lproj
    Additional information
Creative Suite 3.x and 4.x applications were not designed to function under this newer version of the Mac OS, so some issues can affect them. Upgrading to the latest versions of these applications ensures that you achieve maximum compatibility with the new OS.

  • Illustrator still crashes after removing the html5 pack

    Hello,
I have been searching the forum for this issue but have only gotten lists of folders that might contain them and no links to the actual posts, I suspect the page is not rendering right or something.  So forgive this if it's a repeat.  I am on Mac OS X Illustrator CS5 version 15.0.0
I installed the html5 pack in Illustrator as per the instructions and after launching one and prompting for restarting it always crashes,  it has completely broken.
I did save backups and stepped back out of all the manual instructions and restored the original files.
But Illustrator still crashes at start up, I cannot run it now.  Here's a small part of the error I get when prompted to reopen and it crashes again.
Thread 0 Crashed:  Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
    0   ...ustrator.plugins.SVG Format 0x20029ff6 PluginMain + 168908
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thanks for considering the question, this is bad and I appreciate it.

    Hi,
From the truncated crash log, the file that is causing the crash seems to be of html5 pack only specifically svg file format.aip. You may want to double check that you placed back all the files and there are no duplicate files. Do check permissions on these files too. Also, did you install the latest 15.0.2 update?

  • Help! illustrator CS6 crashes after installing Apple Maverick

Today, I installed Apple OS X Maverick. everything works just fine except Illustrator CS6 crashes everytime I opned it. It worked perfectly well before the install. I'vee downloaded the latest versions of Flash and Air. Can anyone help?

    johnny49 wrote:
I went to the Astute Graphics site today and they're aware that Maverick may cause problems and are advising that it's best to hold off installing Maverick until they update the plugins ( about 4 days) Who knew?
It is never really advantageous to rush installing a new operating system upgrade or even certain updates in some cases for these very reasons of incompatibility. It is best to just watch and wait once things are officially released and be aware of any issues overall or specific to your given workflow to avoid such issues. Generally early adoption has just about as many drawbacks as it does positives, its best to be patient and wait for any "real world" issue to be resolved by all parties after a big release. With Mavericks being FREE I am sure many are not waiting however. ;-)

  • Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator CC crash after UI loads

For 5 days and 20 hours i have been trying to sort this issue out, these 3 apps crash after the UI loads, no crash log or error message is displayed it simply quits.
After trying every fix mentioned on the forums
    1. Fonts
    2  Premission
    3. Reinstall CC
    4. Update OS
    5. ACL's
    6. ODBM
    7. Pref files
I rang adobe, 2.5hours on the phone, transfered to 6 different departments, and even when i had the error in the console app in front of me regarding a cocoa submenu not working the person on the phone wouldnt take it because it wasnt a crash report in the diagnostics folder.
OK i may be an ex apple genius, and my standards of customer service are very high, but Adobe you have a serious problem, your customer service is diabolical, as an IT manager i cannot spent the whole morning trying to fix one laptop. You have people on the phone reading from a script who cannot think for themselves.
If another supplier cam along id consider moving away from adobe as in the last 5 years its been all down hill.
And yes my issue still is not resolved, will now do a complete erase and install of the OS then adobe CC.

    Hey,

  • Illustrator CS3 crashing when print on epson 2100

I 'm newer to using illustrator CS3, actually when i print fron illustrator CS3 on Epson 2100 Inkjet it's crashing, application closed. I've trashed the .plist... i have created a new system account and the problem is resolved but after 4/5 press it is returned. Indesign CS3 and photoshop CS3 are ok. Mac OS X 10.5.4. MacPro.

I am not all that great with computers so I apologize in advance for my ignorance! The first thread you linked seems like would help but I don't even know how to get to where it's telling me to go...
"I had the same problem but this worked for me..
remove adobe PDF PPD from the following folders:
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/en.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_CN.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Ja.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/ko.lproj,
    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_TW.lproj,
then re start Illustrator and try printing again"
I got to the OS/Library/printers but then after that... I just see all my printers... nothing that says PPD or contents. This may be such a stupid question for you guys but again I am not great with this kind of stuff so thank in advance for any help! I am already so aggravated with lion, I am considering going back... ughh!

  • Illustrator CC crashes after seconds while using InDesign CC

    Hello,
I have serious problems with Illustrator CC. I work on both a Mac (no problems at all) and Windows (problem occurs with Windows 8 and 8.1).
I think it was since updating Illustrator that I can't use Illustrator in combination with InDesign anymore. Everytime I use them both, Illustrator quits unexpectedly when I switch to InDesign. Since I copy vector graphics from Illustrator to InDesign, you can imagine what trouble such a bug causes! I'm unable to work the way I did for months.
After it crashes i get the message:
Adobe Illustrator stoped working. Program will be closed.
I work on a Wacom Companion. I allready asked them for help but they say it's a softwareproblem.
I tried almost everything, with no luck:
    - tried with a new user account
    - complete factory reset
    - deinstalled and updated the wacom driver
    - deinstalled Creative Cloud and all programs with CC cleaner and reinstalled all programs
    - cleaned registry files
    - I tried to replace C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCR100.dll (as seen in the logfile underneath) but i'm unable to do that because I don't have permission to that system32-folder and am unable to change that.
    - I tried Windows 8 as well as windows 8.1(didn't solve my problem)
    - I had a long chat as well as a phonecall with Adobe but no luck!
    - I tried to update the visual C++ distribution pack (which uses MSVCR100.dll) no luck
I think it has something to do with the latest update? Somebody with a tip? It's getting me nuts! I spent hours and hours on this but I ran out of options..
I really hope you can help me out!

  • Illustrator CC crashes after starting up

I have seen this questioned more times than I can count and I've tried more fixes than that. I haven't seen one solution for this on all the forums.
Anyway, my Adobe Illustrator CC closes/crashes right after opening up. I get the dialogue box that says what's new and it will doesn't crash until after I hit okay, then in a few seconds it crashes.
I have Windows 8.1, all the fonts that are needed, I've tried deleting my preferences and re-installing many times.
I contacted Adobe and they told me it may be a registry error and that they would fix it for over $200 so I haven't done that because it's absurd and I don't think it's a registry error. I have Photoshop CC and it runs perfectly.
I would really like the opinion of anyone willing to help this is really frustrating.
    Thanks in advanced

    I finally fixed it!!!!
For anyone else having this problem this is how I fixed it
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
Find these two folders and move SLStore and SLCache folders to another place. Illustrator auto-generates them and then it worked!!!!
    * C:\ProgramData is hidden, you should see and operate hidden files.
