Illustrator CC multiple shapes instead of one

Im trying to draw a simple rectangle with the rectangle tool.
Instead of giving me one rectangle from the point i click to the point where I release the button, it gives me many rectangles within that area.
This happens with all the shape tools.
I´ve been working with text in perspective mode and noticed it became very buggy. (Could not see text in isolation mode, could not move text in normal mode etc)
And now this strange thing.
I have a Wacom tablet, but it also happens with an ordinary mouse.
Whats going on?
(Edit: It still happens after quit and restart illustrator)
(Edit2: It also happens in Illustrator CS6)

You are welcome, on.
Sometimes, what might appear to be a preference corruption may be solved by restarting Illy or the OS.
So those would have been the top of the suggested list of things to try, when a stuck tilde key was ruled out.

Numbers 3.2.2
Instead of Menu > File > Export To, use Menu > File > Print...
That takes you to Print Preview.
In the Print Setup panel, Click on the Print... button lower right (it won't print yet).
That opens the Print Dialogue.
Click on the PDF Pop-Up Menu lower left.
Choose Open PDF in Preview or Save as PDF.
That will have page breaks and will be full sized.
Print from Preview.

Result to be in multiple columns instead of one

i have used the below sql :
select parent_id, max(sys_connect_by_path(name,'^')) History
from (select parent_id, name, row_number() over (partition by parent_id order by name) rn
from notes )
start with rn = 1
connect by prior rn = rn-1
and prior parent_id = parent_id
group by parent_id
order by parent_id
this gets me the 'HISTORY' row returned in a single column. Problem is if i have 5 HISTORY notes, they all appear in same column with delimiter ^.
Please help to modify query as to get History as multiple columns instead of 1
Below is example of sample data returned , NOTE: history could contain any amount of rows.

You might want to leave the results as one long string, but just add some spacing.
Right now you're using
sys_connect_by_path(name,'^')and getting output like
1 ^TT updates requested^TT updates requested^Update on TT #104836
2 ^Call back actioned^Delivery Update^Internation Dialing ^TT Follow up (147023)
3 ^Queried poor signal strengthwhich is as hard to read as an OTN posting that doesn't use \ tags. Naturally you're not going to insult your uses by asking them to read something like that.
If you use this instead:REPLACE ( sys_connect_by_path ( RPAD (name, 32)
               ,'^'
     , '^'
then the output will look like this:TT updates requested          TT updates requested          Update on TT #104836
Call back actioned          Delivery Update               Internation Dialing           TT Follow up (147023)
Queried poor signal strength

Drawing Multiple Shapes Out of One

Hi everyone,
I am building a marketing brochure, and I wanted to know if it were possible to make one shape into many using just inDesign. In the sample image, you can see the polygon includes multiple shapes from what appears to be a larger shape. The pen and rectangle tool can get some of the shapes, but the more cumbersome ones, i.e., such as a shape similar to the one below the "goals" text seem almost impossible to do with just the pen or rectangle tool.

Creating multiple shapes out of one image

I tried several times now, but I just cant seem to get it. I have an image of person, with which I want to crop that person out of the background with the bezier tool. But I need to create multiple shapes to cover some background f.x under his arms. How can I do this?

You realize I cannot see your screen, right? I do not understand your use of the terms "crop out" and "cover…under hsi arms." If you remove him, how are his arms still in the shot?
Do you need multiple masks on one layer or do you need a different mask for every frame of video? That is called rotoscoping and is easily researched.

When importing songs from a cd into itunes, the songs get separated into multiple albums instead of one. How do I fix this problem?

I recently tried to import a cd that I got into itunes. When it imported, instead of being one album by one artist, it created multiple ablums by the same artist. Does anyone know how to fix this problem to bring all the files into one album by the same artist?

Spreadsheet output from reports posting to multiple cells instead of one

Hi all, using Report Builder 10.1.2.2.0
ORACLE Server Release 10.1.0.5.0.
I have a report that creates its output as an excel file using desformat=spreadsheet. The problem I am having is with fields that contain a large amount of text with formatting characters in them. In particular, carriage returns. When this data is created in excel, it treats the carriage return as a new cell, so instead of putting all the data for that column into one cell, it creates a number of cells and merges them all together.
Is there anyway to get around this? I know excel can support line breaks within a cell, is it a limitation of oracle reports to be unable to duplicate this output?

For what it's worth, that's the way I read that line in the User Guide as well. What it actually appears to mean, though is 'Rules applied to multiple cells apply independently to each of the cells."
Here's a workaround for your three adjacent columns. Long, but fairly simple steps.
Add a second table to the sheet (Table 2).
Resize the second table to one column wide and as many rows as you want to apply the conditional format to.
Set the width of the column to the same width as the three columns you want to highlight, and the row height(s) to match the rows.
Format to table to have NO Header or Footer row or column.
Use the Wrap Inspector to uncheck "Object causes wrap"
In the first top cell of Table 2, enter an = sign, then Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, Click on the first cell that will hold YES or NO.
Fill the formula down the rest of Table 2.
With all cells in Table 2 selected, use the Cell Format inspector to set the 'text contains yes' rule and the conditional fill colour for these cells.
Test the conditional formating by introducing values into Table 1.
Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, then use the Table inspector to set Cell Fill to 'none'.
Click on Table 2 in the sidebar, then drag that table onto table 1 aligning it to cover the cells in which the conditional formating is to appear.
When positioned (and still selected), go to the Arrange menu and Send Backward to move Table 2 behind the (transparent) cells in Table 1.
With Table 2 still selected, click on the Cell Borders color well and set the Opacity of the borders to 0%.
Click the Text inspector and set the Text colour Opacity for Table 2 to 0%.

Word 2008 doc saves into multiple docs instead of one PDF

I have installed Acrobat 9 Pro and am trying to print a Word 2008 doc to a PDF. Instead of creating and saving as one document it splits it into several whenever the page set up changes from profile to landsacape or vice versa. This happens whether I use the PDF print button or the Adobe Printer option. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers.

I am afraid to break the news to you, this has been an on going problem with Acrobat converting Word File to PDF. Its been a problem from the get go. Adobe says, its Microsoft's Problem. Microsoft says its Adobe Problem, they both blame Apple. Problem, is Apple licenses the PDF subsystem used OSX since day one from Adobe; and, the problem existed in OS9 which didn't use PDF as the the underlying print/display engine, which tends to point the finger to Adobe. Another thing point to its adobe's problem, is that Microsoft has been waiting patiently for adobe to fix the problem since day one about 10-15 years, So they desided in Office 2008 to use their own built in Converter for PDF. This reduces the problem of breaking the pdf up only if you have a shift orientation. The problem lies in Adobe either doesn't know how or can't figure out how, or doesn't want to be bothered with finding out how microsoft Page and Section breaks work. They are unique to Microsoft.
The cure is to either use Word 2008's Save as... Command then choose PDF. In which case unless you have a chart or something that should be in Landscape mode, will make a complete PDF.
Or to take the pieces that are created by Acrobat/Distiller AdobePDF Print Drive and doe the following:
Open the first part, scroll to end
Then go to Edit menu and choose Edit menu > Insert Pages
Locate second part and choose okay or insert.
repeat 1-3 with next section
Continue doing this until all the pieces are together.
There is no way around this problem other than not using page and section breaks and not using charts or items that require viewing in Landscape orientation. Which may or may not be realistic.
If you must use items in landscape mode my suggestion would be create them separately and, then when printing, print them speparately one copy, then place the chart where you want and use a Copy machine to make the copies in the right order. Or use my direction above to insert them in proper place.

IOS 5 text notification(when screen is locked) makes multiple noises instead of one

I updated to iOS 5 a few days ago , and now whenever I get a text/whatapp notification when my screen is locked(phone is asleep) , it makes multiple sounds, as if 3-4 messages were arriving in quick succession! anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix for it?

Problem with all day events on iPad calendar spanning multiple days instead of one

I'm having an issue editing all day events on my iPad calendar. If I reschedule an event to the following day, it now spans the two days instead of just one.
The issue only happens on my iPad. I can reschedule appointments on my iPhone without any problems. Date and time zone are set correctly.

I experience the same when we subscribe on calendars (ICS) from Exchange. Been testing on two iPads 3 (6.0.1). The strange thing is that everything work as normal on my iPhone 4S (6.0.1). The timezone is correct and the all same on all three devices (default setting).
The meeting details (fetched live from Exchange) is also naturally the same. Far as I can see, this applies only the on iPads?

Exactly the same issue here.... iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1
If I restart the device it fixes for a while, but when it starts doing that it continues unitl I restart, I use WhatsApp a lot, but the "pu pu pu pu pu pu purum" happens with iMessages and SMS too.

How can IWD_VALUE_HELP return multiple values, instead of one

Hello expert,
I have requirement to use F4 help to return multiple values to the using WD component. Basically in my main WD component, I have a View where I have a list box, this list box has a F4 assigned to it, clicking on the F4 brings up hte F4 help, in the F4 help, user can select multiple values which should be returned to my main component / view to be displayed in the list box.
I'd implement IWD_VALUE_HELP to create my own F4 help component. However I have difficulty to return multiple values. As I understand there is only way to return data from F4 help to the calling Main WD component / view:
Item_LISTENER->F4_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->set_attribute( name = 'MYATTRName' value = myvalue).
Do you guys know how to archive what is required here?

Hello Jayson,
the element reference that is passed into the IWD_VALUE_HELP implementing component is the element of the calling application's context.
Therefore you can use methods like
IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->GET_NODE
(to get the parent node of the element) and
IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->GET_CHILD_NODE
to get access to other parts of the context.
say for example your value help should populate a pop-in table with multiple entries.
your application allows you to choose a type of ice-cream cone and then to choose the flavour of ice-cream (multi selection)has a structure like:
Context_root
--> List_of_ice_creams (0..n)
>Ice_cream_flavours(1..n)
In the element of list_of_ice_creams you have an attribute "flavour" which links to your value help.
Choosing this value-help should allow you to select multiple flavours, return these and populate them into the sub-node Ice_cream_flavours.
Within your custom value help you can get a reference to the node Ice_cream_flavours by calling the method
lo_flavour_node = IItem_LISTENER->F4_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->GET_CHILD_NODE("ICE_CREAM_FLAVOURS"). You could then populate this in you value help component.
As I mentioned - this isn't great as it means the value help cannot really be used elsewhere as it has a dependency on the structure of the calling context. But that may not be an issue for you.

The issue is an approval step is there which is send to the user 'AAAA' but the same approval step is also send to the user ''BBBB' we are not specifying the user 'BBBB' anywhere in workflow.But he is receiving the same approval step.
Here we are passing the userid as 'USAAAA".
In SWIA I had checked the agent there it showing AAAA only.

You can select multiple items using shift to select a range and control to add or remove items from it.
Regarding duplciates, Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group of identical tracks to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin. This can happen, for example, if you start iTunes with a disconnected external drive, then connect it, reimport from your media folder, then restart iTunes.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping, whether you do so by hand or using my script, in case something goes wrong.
