Illustrator CC tool pallets disappearing

Anyone else having this problem?
the essential took pallets will often just disappear. changing to another workspace brings up other pallets but then some of those don't work right.
I've only had this problem once I installed Yosemite... Seems like an Adobe issue, but odd that these window issues started the same time installed the new OS.
restarting Ill fixes the problem... till they disappear again.

I'm serious about getting Affinity. giving up 20+ years of software knowledge isn't going to be easy, but adobe and or apple, Don't like each other. they never have been interested in working together. Even though without each other they wouldn't be where they are now.
They both aren't interested in the customer anymore either. They are only interested in this months budget, and how their investors are doing. But I digress.
Just try getting Adobe or Apple to admit that a problem like this one we are having is something they can fix just doesn't happen. the only way is to bombard them both with bug request fixes. otherwise it falls into the either and we hope it gets fixes in the next version of either the software or the OS. and when that doesn't fix it, you know you'll be waiting for a Serious overhaul, like because hardware changed. (ie PPC to Intel)
Case in point. the last few versions of Bridge doesn't work well with the Magic mouse. Adobe says is Apples fault, apple says it didn't change anything.
Until Apple makes a new version of the Mouse, Or adobe rewrites scrolling input for Bridge, people will keep using Bridge 5.1

Is there some simple setting out there that will just "make it so?"@

The video I am watching this guy is just dragging every line to make curves. And every anchor point is a corner. He is not switching back and forth between the pen and the anchor points tool, and he is not using the convert points tool. He draws a curved line and starts another straight line only to curve it with a click and a drag. It is super efficient, and I could save a world of time if I could figure out what he is doing.

Tool pallets in CC 2014 disappearing and/or ghosting - Yosemite?

Even since I installed Yosemite my tool pallets have been acting up.
They work for a while and then when i leave Ill to go get a file or find something on the web, i come back in the right side or top pallets are gone.
Today they added a new alternative to the problem the become 50% transparent, but at least usable.
Oddly enough, the Main pallet to the left is there, when they dissapear... but has joined in on the 50% thing. WHats different about the 50% thing though is that when i open a tool, like Layers, that window is normal but the bar it comes from is still 50% same applies to the main tool pallet too, holding down on a tool for the pull out window give me 100%.
A quick fix for the 50% problem seems to be to just go to workspace and pick a different arrangement, and then go back to essentials.
However, when the pallets are GONE this trick of changing arrangements doesn't work as well, other arrangements show up, but there is always trouble trying to open a pallet.
Restarting Ill seems to be the only cure.
Anyone else see this happening?

I am having this exact problem and it is driving me crazy. I have to keep switching workspaces to see any, but sometimes they all disappear.
Restarting AI does not seem to make a difference.
Any help or tips, other than uninstalling and reinstalling would be appreciated.

I can give a few suggestions on Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom is a separate forum and you should ask Lr questions there.
First close Photoshop.
Then start Photoshop by double-clicking on it's icon and very quickly after that, hold down the ctrl-alt-shift keys until you see the reset dialog. answer "Yes" to delete settings, and let Photoshop continue to load.
It's tricky to do and may take a few tries, but at least it should reset Photoshop CC 2014 to defaults.

Indesign cs6 menu and tool bar disappear between windows using mission control in mountain lion

heres 2 screen grabs before and after. while navigating between 'spaces' using mission control in mountain lion. issue - the menu and tools bars disappear - not all of them just parts of them. to get back i hit 'tab' button twice which hides and shows tools. very annoying - does anyone know of a fix or is this another bug which i have to live with. im using a macpro june 2012/running 10.8.4 and 2 screens - left for artboard - right for all tool windows.

thanks steve - yes that works as does using the tab key - all well....until i move to another 'space' and then come back again.
for example: my setup is like this - no2 space has indesign project. no3 space has photoshop. so im working on a page within indesign and i need to edit an image- i double click the pic and it opens in photoshop on the other 'space' save the file and go back to indesign to update pic and find menu/tools all over the place - so hit tab twice back to normal - until i 'move' out of that space into another - photoshop/ mail/ whatever - as i toggle between spaces the indesign menu will always be 'corrupt' for a better word. hope that makes sense.

The address bar and all the command & tool bars disappear from my web page as soon as I log on. The leaves me with no way to enter a web address or navagate.

When I attempt to use Firefox, the address bar and all the command & tool bars disappear from view as soon as I start the program. I can see the scrolling our of view at the top of my screen. This leaves me with no way to enter a web address, navigate or even exit the program.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

Missing tools pallette

I'm new to labview, and I'm following a tutorial based on the temperature system demo.vi
My problem is that when I click on Windows>>Show tools pallette Nothing happens; no pallette appears.
What do I have to do to get to the tools pallette?

Maybe it is located offscreen for some reason (e.g. if you used it with a much higher screen resolution).
Try the following:
Exit LabVIEW
Go to your LabVIEW folder (typically C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1 or similar)
Open LabVIEW.ini using notepad.
Delete the entire line containing toolPaletteLoc=.... (e.g. toolPaletteLoc=357,335,516,413 or whatever the numbers are)
save the modified LabVIEW.ini under the same name.
Now restart LabVIEW.
See if this helps.

Bug with Illustrator Line Tool

I am trying to draw a shape using the illustrator line tool, and it always seems to revert to 1pt when I am using it within a shape, even when I manually change it to 0.5pt in the top bar, it does not change. I will go larger than 1pt but not smaller for some reason. It works when the line is by itself. As in not attached to a shape but as soon as you move it to connect with the rest of the shape it reverts to that large size. please help

Oh thanks! I didn't realise this could effect specific tools as well as the placement of objects, Im having another problem which I thought would be solved by turning off the 'Align to Pixel Grid' but it didn't work

Tool Pallete - Advanced - Message Handling Script/Script

We have few clarifications in OEDQ.
Tool Pallete -> Advanced -> Message Handling Script/Script:
we can write Java Script to define processing logic that acts across all the records in a message, or that acts selectively on only the first record in the message.
I tried writing Java Script for Data Validation and to display the message.
Java Code:

When we try to run the processor, We are getting the below error.

Search for "Script" and "Message Handling Script"
You can use JavaScript or Groovy but NOT Java. Also the script needs to adhere to certain interfaces to allow it to be called by EDQ. See the examples provided.

Tools Pallette icons don't show up (are hidden) (not shown)

I install LV8.6 and the Set the Tools pallette for Icons only. The tools pallette don't show the top level icons when the view is set to icons only. The icons are there, they are just not displayed.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue??? I have a PC here that was upgraded to LV 9 and the same thing persist.

Then from the Functions palate Menu:
View> Change visible catagories

Illustrator CC - Tools not allowing access to drop-down options
For example, I want to change the shape from rectangle to an oval, the press and hold on the rectangle shape (by default) will not give access to other shape options. Or, for another example, the text tool won't allow access to type on path options.
Can anyone help me out on this? I running a very new PC and Illustrator CC (latest copy).

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Practical uses of the tool pallette

I notice that when I have an audio region in the arrange window the mouse pointer automatically turns into a region trim tool when I put the cursor at the sides of the region. Does anyone know of a way to have other tool pallette funtions available by the location of the cursor on the region. For example if the cursor is in the middle of the region it becomes the marquee tool, at the bottom right it becomes the fade tool etc etc. Pro tools has an option for this and it saves loads of time.
I know Logic is not trying to be like pro tools but as a long time pro tools user trying to make the cross over I am coming to realize that there are usually similar options available for logic with slightly different key commands etc. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

no logic only automatically switches selection for loop and region start/end. personally I'd like the option to turn this off because there are times when I never use loops and it's a nuisance.
but, you can use the esc key at any time to make the tool palette appear directly where the mouse is. this is really quick once you get used to using it.

Hyperion Tool Bar Disappears in Smartview

Has anyone had any problems with the Hyperion button on the tool bar disappearing in Smartview? We are currently on version 11.1.1.1.1 and are using Excel 2003 and recently a couple of our users have had a problem with the Hyperion button that normally shows up in the tool bar disappearing. Normally it reappears the next day but I have one user that it is not coming back for. She uninstalled and reinstalled Smartview but still no luck. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else we can try and what would be causing this to happen?

Please follow this steps
Step 1: Click Help in Ms Excel
Step 2: Click “about MS office Excel"
Step 3 : Click Disabled Items where you could able to find the disabled add ins and Please Enable the same.
Now, you could able to find the Hyperion tab in your fresh Excel.
While performing above activities, kindly close other Microsoft Documents.
Also please ensure Tools-> Add in -> Hyperion smartview add in should be checked
I think it will work for you...
