Illustrator closes automatically after opening

I'm trying to install Adobe products on my new DELL 15R, I decided first to tryout the CC version and here's what I've been through since then...
1. Photoshop CC was installed & worked smoothly without any problems.
2. Then I installed Illustrator CC but I had this strange thing that the program shuts down automatically few seconds after I open it. I tried to uninstall & reinstall but nothing happened.
3. Then I uninstalled Illustrator & Installed InDesign CC & had the same problem with Illustrator.
4. I searched online here on the forums & on some other websites for solutions & here are some of what I found:
          a. reseting preferences
          b. removing fonts cache
          c. reinstalling & installing
          d. disabling or removing some plug-ins
          e. using the CC cleaner tool
          f. disabling the AMD driver
After all that hussle I decided to give up the CC so I uninstalled everything & tried to install the good old CS6 instead, but now I got the same thing!!
I tried all the suggested solutions above, from reseting the preferences, using Fontexplorer to manage any issue with fonts, disabling plug-ins, disabling AMD, re-installing many times, and also the CC Cleaner tool. Sill I got NOTHING!!!
I'm so frustrated that my old computer with Windows vista have all the CS6 running perfectly and I can't instal anything on my new one!!

DELL 15R 5537
Intel Core i7
Windows 8 x64
AMD Radeon HD 8850M

Hi Romyoi,
Which PS CC are you on? If possible, could you please uninstall all Adobe CC products and try to install only AICC and see if it works? It looks like some shared component is causing the issue in AI.
I know it is frustrating for you but these kind of diagnostic things might help us isolate this issue and work upon that accordingly. It would also help others who might also be facing this issue.

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Why pdf files close automatically after a few seconds?

I recently re-installed Acrobat XI Pro and when I now open a pdf files it closes automatically after a few seconds - any one knows why and how to solve this problem?

You may have to reinstall or do a repair, one of the two. I would start with the repair from the help menu. Then do the updates also in the help menu. See if that fixes the issue. If not, you may have to reinstall. If you reinstall, use http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and then remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. Then do the updates.

Photoshop CC, Flash CC, After Effects CC, Dreamweaver CC all Closes right after opening????

I have tried everything on the forums, but every time i open Photoshop, Dreamweaver, flash, after effects all with CC paid membership closes right after opening them. I have read the forums searched in the internet, update and downgrade the drivers on graphic card, sign in and out the adobe creative cloud, The one thing i notices is that when i open Photoshop in the notifications on my windows, it appears in the notifications that i register my product on adobe with ID but i have entered my Id with billing information an all when i click to continue it goes sign in then back to the address??. And in my products shows i have membership cloud, don't know what to do anymore! I have even uninstall the program and clean everything with adobe cleaning tool. I don't Know what to do!!!

Final Cut Express HD (3.5) closes right after opening?

Hi,
I believe years ago I had this same issue and it was as simple as deleting the preferences (??).
Basically, what's happening is I just installed FCE HD (3.5) on my G4. I meet the system requirements to run the application AND Soundtrack Pro and LiveType open and run fine. FCE closes immediately after opening and then I get an error: "The Application Final Cut Express Quit Unexpectedly."
Any ideas?

Yeah, sorry for being so confusing. That's exactely what I did. Since my main HD is 500Gb and my secondary drive is 120Gb, I just copied all the necessary files to the 500, formatted the 120, reinstalled OSX, and booted to it. The intention was to let the FCE software think it was installing on a fresh drive (which, it was).
However, even then it won't let me install FCE. Just LT and Soundtrack. ?? I'm a bit confused because the system requirements for Soundtrack and LT are the same for FCE.
I'm trying to install it on a Dual 1.25ghz G4 Quicksilver with 1.5Gb Ram. ??
The funny thing is I WAS able to install the complete program initially when I got it. I had a previous copy of Final Cut Express (1) on my main drive. I ran the FCE HD installer, and the program installed just fine. However, it kept closing right after it would open. I figured it was a preference conflict between the newer version (3.5) and the old version (1.1). So, I've done my best trying to erase all evidence of FCE ever being on the drive and still get nowhere ??

Alert "Power sub-system degraded or failed" won't close automatically after power restores

we have SCOM R2 and HP server in use.
we installed HP server MP.
each server has two power suppliers, one to UPS, one to Commercial power.
but there is always Commercial power outage, after which alert "Power sub-system degraded or failed" will arise.
when power restores, this alert won't close automatically.
Below please find alert properties,
there is no "Aoto-resolve" attribute, I suppose this is the reason why this alert won't close automatically after power restores.
but I want this alert to be closed automatically by SCOM after power restores, could anyone help me?

It looks like this particular alert is generated by a rule, and that rule simply generates an alert whenever certain events are detected in the event log. A rule that alerts on the creation of an event does not have the ability to close based on the
detection of a second event.
If this is the behavior you are looking for you would be best to create your own monitor as opposed to this rule, as you can create a custom monitor that alerts on one event or events and closes when another event or events are logged indicating things are
healthy again.
Once you have your custom monitor setup, you would then want to disable this rule that was built into the hp management pack. You can also look to see if the hp mp has any contact info that you can reach out to and ask for this feature to be included
in the next update of the mp, but for now i think your best option is to create a custom monitor that alerts on one event and closes on another.

[solved] xterm closes automatically after 6s

I'm having a really weird problem: xterm closes automatically after 6s of execution time, no matter what I run inside or whether I do anything in it at all.
No error in the logs or in .xsession-errors, return value is zero. The window just closes and anything running inside is aborted:

System is up-to-date arch64, awesome as desktop environment.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the hint: funny thing is I was indeed going to try cairo-xcompmgr, but the issue iccured before that
I traced it down to a script that was supposed to kill a specific xterm instance and instead killed all. So all my fault, thanks for the answer ^^

When I open certain websites I use frequently(like financial trading sites), they seem to close automatically after about an hour. How do I keep them open until I decide to close them?

I recently installed 4.01. Now when I open Firefox, it only seems to stay open for about an hour or so, and then closes automatically.

That may have been coded on those websites and is done automatically via JavaScript. If it didn't happen previously then it is possible that the used code doesn't work in previous Firefox version. Many of such sites do that and one hour looks to me as already quite long if you leave a page unattended.

Firefox now manages the downloads in the Downloads folder in the Library (History > Show All History > Downloads) and download are treated as history items.

So you open the Library if you inspect all downloads and this Library window doesn't close automatically.
When a download is in progress then you see a download progress (timer) bar on the Navigation Toolbar instead of the Download Manager button and that button is highlighted once the download has finished to make you aware the their are new downloads.
You can view the new Download Manager in a tab by opening the about:downloads page and consider to open this page in a separate window.
You can set the Boolean pref browser.download.useToolkitUI to true on the about:config page to restore the classic Download Manager window and make all download settings appear in "Tools > Options > General".

Acrobat CC CS6 closes shortly after opening

To add to my problems in Creative Cloud CS6 - Acrobat, today everytime I open a pdf it stays open for about 10 seconds and then automatically closes. I have never experienced this before. Is this more of the new & improved version?
This just started today.

So, this thread sounds similar to your problem... these people describe a pdf opening, closing immediately, and after that Acrobat will not run anymore. (May or may not be the same problem you're having). Here is the solution from that thread:
