Illustrator crashes randomly. Event Viewer says Save4web.aip module is to blame

Hello -
My Illustrator is crashing randomly while im working on it. Anywhere from importing a picture to saving to just opening the program.
I checked the event viewer and noticed that in all instances the Save4Web.aip module is what's crashing.
Can someone please help? I tried contacted a support rep but apparently there is no phone support :\
Below is the Event:

samk,
You could try to reinstall using the full three step way:
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

  • Adobe Acrobat 10.1.19 crashes, Event Viewer says scan.api is at fault

    Hello all,
I am a relative newcomer to these boards but I got a problem I just can't seem to find the answer to, but it is a question that others are asking as well.
I recently had to reprogram my computer, Windows 7 64-bit. I installed everything back to the way it was. I installed the Brother MFC-420CN as I always do. I installed my Acrobat 10 and upgraded to 10.1.19.
For some reason, however, the program won't let me scan.
    I go:
    Create
    PDF from Scanner
    Custom Scan
I select "TW-Brother MFC-420CN USB," click the scan button, and I get a message saying "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working."
This is what Microsoft tells me:

The "scan.api" seems to be the culprit but I've been unable to find a fix.
    Can anyone help me?
Thanks from a perplexed but long time Acrobat user.

Unfortunately there isn't. When I install the MFC, the installation uses drivers from the 2009 installer and what it gets from Windows Downloads.

  • Why when I hold spacebar+mouse click to pan my drawing, Illustrator crashes randomly?

I use alt+scroll-wheel to zoom in and out - and hold space bar+click to pan my drawings often as they are really efficient.  However, I find that when I hold the spacebar and click+drag to pan, Illustrator will randomly crash.  It is truly random...let's say every 62 times I pan my drawings this way, it will crash - I save quite often, but no matter what I lose some work as it is random and interrupts my flow and it's very frustrating.  I'm not doing any sort of sticky keys-type-of thing by pressing anything repeatedly or even pressing any other keys for that matter.
I have tried looking on the internet several times for anyone else who has this issue and cannot find another case.  So I ask:
Has anyone else had this issue?  Or am i insane and not realizing what I am doing?
Much appreciated if at least one person acknowledges what I am dealing with. LOL Thanks,

Which system, which version, which hardware?
Have you tried a different mouse?

  • Illustrator crashing randomly

I have a user who is using Illustrator in CS5.  She is running on Windows XP.  Randomly Illustrator crashes and she gets the following error in the event log.
    Source: Application Error
    Event ID: 1000
Faulting application illustrator.exe, version 15.1.0.39, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.6055, fault address 0x0000100b.
It also saves a f4e4_appcompat.txt file but it's content is rather large and I did not want to paste in this post unless necessary.  I don't see and attachment option.
Would anyone be able to help me out?  I can get more information if you can let me know what you need.  Thanks for any assitance you can provide.

ntdll.dll is a microsoft file that explorer uses can become corrupted by a trojan or interact with a corrupted file and cause a crash. If you have any antivirus software then run what you have. If you don't have antivrius software download soem adn run that (just beware there are some programs like Spy Sheriff which disguise themselves as antivrius software, but they actually install their own virus on your machine).
If this started happening recently the most reliable and easiest way is to restore your system to a previous state when it was working good. It may not be a virus,as some old plug in can casue this, btu a system restore should help. There also is a chance teh problem might be hardwrere like ram or bad sector on disk, but with ntdll.dll I believe you have a software issue.
May also be a good time to look into Windows 7 if she is interested, as installing that you can take care of updating and solve your crashes.

  • Illustrator crashes randomly on save

Hello, I hope we could get help, we were running CS4 on XP for a while and we did not encounter any problems like this before. Whenever we save a file, there is a random chance that the computer crashes as in its locking up the whole operating system. We just recently moved to Windows 7 and we're stumped with this problem. We tried searching the internet with no avail. Hoping for a reply soon and thanks in advanced

Might be a simple poerformance issue. Both Vista and W7 permanently run system restore and optimize the swap file, which at times may exhaust all drive bandwidth. This might cause crashes. Of course also check all that security stuff on W7 and disable it, if not critical to your environment. And yes, checking temp files and directories is also a good idea.

  • Error in starting nidevldu and nipxirmu services (windows event viewer)

A computer running Windows XP SP1 and a Visual basic (V6.0) application that I've developped had crashed several times. I've seen lots of errors in the Windows event viewer saying that the nidevldu and nipxirmu services were trying to start (exact french message : Le service nidevldu est en attente de démarrage et Le service nipxirmu est en attente de démarrage). These messages are real errors (not warning or informations).
    I use a 6034E PCI card, Visual basic V6.0 and NI-DAQ 7.4.
The crashes I've seen may be linked with this problem.
    Is there a solution?

    Hi,
I think that you are not going to be starting and stopping the devldu service in normal circumstances... due to crashes !
The firsts steps you have to focus on is to optimize your program in order to avoid crashes, which is not a normal way of work I guess. Then you will be able to avoid these messages!

  • CS3 Illustrator crashing problem

    Hello all,
Lately my illustrator cs3 has been crashing every time I try to save a new file. It is so frustrating after doing all the work and can't save. I work on Windows XP 2002 system. Can anyone help?
    Thanks so much!

Hi Jacob, Just so you know, I was in a hurry and no way was able to buy an expensive product to do my artwork project. I couldn't find older TRIAL versions to download without 3rd party attached  programs & BS that could be bad to do.
But, I need to go back on the forum to say that I rebooted to try one more time and it worked. Don't know why it didn't work the first time around because it was a fresh open of Illustrator, hadn't been working on it for a month then the first time didn't work.
I don't have time to go back on the forum right now got to leave for work. You can mention you heard this from me if you want so that people aren't misinformed.
    thanks for replying

  • Event Viewer ACPI error MBP mid09

Hi, I have installed Win 7 on my MBP 5.5 mid 2009 and although its running well I am getting an error message in event viewer saying:
    Error
    25/09/2014 00:00:32
    ACPI
    13
    None
something about the embedded controller failed to start in a reasonable time. Would anyone with the same mac please check their event logs to see if they have this error please?
I had this and a HAL error under Win 7 ultimate x64 (used this as a test os) so I installed Win 7 Pro from a Genuine Disc (I do not condone piracy) and I am getting the ACPI error (only after all the drivers were installed, the error message didnt show prior to boot camp 4 install). So before I spend £100 on a Genuine Windows disc (I already purchased Windows 8 at £106 but it seems apple dont support it on this mac :-(...) I'd like to know if its a failing logic board or driver related.
    Thanks in advance
    Darren

I have been running OSX for around 1 hour and then I rebooted into windows 7, loaded the event logs immediately and found the ACPI error had been recorded precisely 1 hour before windows had booted, I am wondering if this could be a bug between Mac/Windows time feature. after more restarts the ACPI isn't being recorded and other events times are correct.
    edit:
I have just disabled the Synchronise with internet time feature in windows. I'll keep a look out.

  • Labview 2010 randomly restarts computer - windows event viewer points to nap agent

When running my current VI that I am working on, the computer will ranomly reboot. There is no freeze, or blue screen, just a reboot. When examining the windows event viewer after the reboot, the following warning is listed immediately preceding the reboot:
    Event ID 39
The Network Access Protection Agent was unable to determine which HRAs to request a health certificate from.
A network change or if GP is configured, a configuration change will prompt further attempts to acquire a health certificate. Otherwise no further attempts will be made.
Contact the HRA administrator for more information.
Previous to getting this warning before a reboot, I was getting the following error:
    Event ID 10016
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {24FF4FDC-1D9F-4195-8C79-0DA39248FF48}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18).  This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
This is a DCOM service eror and the CLSID is referring to NAPAGENT. So I configured DCOM to allow the NAPAGENT to start and now I get the Event ID 39 warning and still get the reboot.
I am not sure why labview is even asking for DCOM or NAPAGENT to start at all. My VI is simply reading information from two serial instruments.
This reboot behavior does not occur when the computer is not running labview.
I am attaching a copy of the main VI, if it will be helpful I can post the sub VI's as well.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for the reply.
I am running windows XP pro service pack 3.
I am running a standard instal of labview 2010 with the latest VISA drivers, no other modules or options installed.
I am only reading and writing to the serial ports (com) in my code. I don't believe that virus/spyware/malware is to blame for several reasons.
    1. This only occurs when running this VI in labview.
    2. I have replicated this problem on another computer.
    3. I am behind a government (DOE) firewall and virus scans and checks are performed constantly.
    4. If I take out the serial portion of my code via a T/F case structure, it will not crash.
The code will run fine for sevetral hours sometimes and then crash, other times it will crash after only a few minutes.
Please let me know what other information you require.
    Thanks!

  • T410 2516CTO random freezes without anything in Windows Event Viewer! :(

I used Update Retriever + Thin Installer (virtually System Update 4.0 but a server + client version of it) to download drivers and install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with SP1 on this machine. A hard power off is required by pressing on the power button for 5+ seconds
    Core i7 620M
    8GB RAM
    320GB 7.2k rpm HDD
    Optimus graphics
    Gobi2000 WWAN
    uPek Fingerprint reader
The machine freezes without any warning and has done so with both the factory install (more frequent) and with the HDD wiped and using Microsoft's Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 slipstreamed (freezes much less frequently). Are there tools that I can use to help diagnose this problem?
I have also used a 90W AC adaptor and 65W adaptor on this machine. The random freezes happen on either adaptor as well.
I read of other people who have the same frustrations over freezes but no other situation described is exactly the same as mine unfortunately -- most other occasions you can find something in Windows Event Viewer!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi again
Found out that it was the Intel WiFi 6300 that was locking the machine. Disabled it via h/w switch or BIOS made the freezing disappear altogether.
So there we go. A once off incident of a failed 6300 WLAN card.

  • Adobe Illustrator crash problems

    Hey everybody,
Having problems with Illustrator on my MBP. Had an older version for several months (pretty sure it was version 10). Worked OK except for some random crashes every now and again. Then crashes started happening more frequently until I could no longer open the program.
Removed version 10 and tried installing CS2 version of illustrator. Installs fine but I've never been able to open it. Crashes every time during launch. Have tried making a new user and installing it there. Same result. Deleted all Version Cue files I could find and reinstalled. Same result.
Have all the latest updates from Apple including Quicktime 7.1.2
Below is the first part of the crash log (not sure how much of it to copy in). Thanks for any help.

    Hi Ken,
Thanks for the suggestion. I did as you said but could not find a process called "translated" in the activity monitor.
Were you having the same type of problem with Illustrator (crashing on startup)?
I should also say that I made another attempt at installing Illustrator CS2 after deleting every Adobe related file on my computer (including Photoshop CS which I had been using without issue).
This improved things a bit in that CS2 no longer crashes immediately as it starts up but instead makes it at least part of the way through the initialization process before crashing (can get it to go all the way through "updating fonts"). But it still never makes it all of the way through start up.
Also, since my last post I've tried opening it after Safe Booting and this doesn't work either (actually it doesn't even get as far as detailed above).
What do you all think? I'm thinking that a clean reinstall of the OS might be the only option left.
