Illustrator Crashing - When changing Font Styles

Illustrator keeps crashing every time I try and change font styles on a piece of copy

Hi Selina,
Two possible (maybe the most probable) causes could be:
Corrupt font(s) or A font caches issue
For Troubleshooting Corrupted Fonts:

To Clear the Font cache for Mac:

(It can also help if you are on Mac to boot in safe mode)
Have you installed extra fonts or maybe a Font management Progam.
If you removed the installed fonts or disable the font management progam you get the same results?

Illustrator CS5.1 crashes when changing fonts

Hoping someone can please help!! Every time I try to change fonts in Illustrator CS5.1, without fail it crashes. I'm on a macbook pro with retina display, OSX 10.9.4 and I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling the program and downloading the Adobe patches but my computer won't accept them. I've tried deleting the Illustrator preferences as well but nothing seems to work. PLEASE HELP?!!

In serious cases requiring reinstallation, you should also use the Cleaner Tool, see 6) below.
But it may be something with fonts/font caches, see Items 1) and 11) in the link in 5) below; these may be the most probable causes.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Illustrator crashes when changing color on gradient tool.

In any file, even a brand new, empty artboard, when I double click on the color box on the gradient tool bar ON THE OBJECT (not on the Gradient tool box, I've included an image below) to change the color, Illustrator crashes every single time without fail.
I can't seem to find the issue. I'm running on Windows 7 Pro

Are all the faces of the Verdana and Tahoma fonts installed and enabled/activated through the OS (not font mangement) as TTF (not OTF)?

Photoshop CS crashing when changing font

Hi,
I've recently installed Photoshop CS version 8.0 on my pc and even though I'm able to design in it as normal, when I come to create a text layer and try changing the font, Photoshop instantly freezes and then crashes, sending an error report saying that the programme is no longer responding. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and I have also followed Adobe's troubleshooting article to include removing all the fonts that Windows does not require and still Photoshop crashes.
Has anybody else experienced this problem and, if so, have you managed to solve it?
I'm using a HP xw4400 workstation with Windows XP version 5.1 and service pack 2. And I have 3.25GB of RAM.
My video card is a NVIDIA FX 1500 and I have no other applications on my computer apart from Scenarist for DVD Authoring.
I have no internet connection and the computer is a relatively new one so is fairly clean and has lots of space on the hard drive.

Bug: Photoshop CS6 crashes when changing font family of a locked text layer (Windows 7)

How to:
          1. Open an 8-bit, RGB image by selecting File>Open...
          2. Click anywhere on the canvas, with the Type Tool to make a new Text Layer
          3. Select the Move Tool
          4. Lock the text layer
          5. Click on the font family drop-down list to highlight the current font family
          6. Press an up or down arrow key
Result: Photoshop Crashes

Photoshop CS6 Crash when changing font

Hi guys, this did not happen yesterday but Photoshop acting weird. I open it to make logo and I New document and I go to the text tool and click the fonts and it crashes.

Edit: I ran the font tester and everything works fine now, I also discovered some dwnlaoded fonts which I lossed. The font test was 100% sucsessful but I want to have the font samples, can you help me with that please? Thanks

Illustrator crashes when using save as and changing the save location yosemite OS

I am having a problem with illustrator crashing when using save as to save a file to another location than the one it was previously saved in. It will save to the same location just fine but on macbook pro with yosemite os it crashes immediately when i change the save location. Tried reinstall and also tried other users and still does it. Any solutions?

I've been experiencing this issue too. I run CC on OS 10.6.8 with Extensis Fusion 4. I discovered Fusion 4 is not compatible with CC and have since upgraded to Fusion 5. Illustrator was still crashing, but I found in the forums that the Verdana font had to be activated in the System folder. I tried to install it there, but couldn't figure out how to do that, so I just activated it in the Font Library. After that, Illustrator opened.

If AI CC 2014 is crashing on launch, then please send me the crash logs at [email protected] including the link of the Forum Thread where your post is listed.
For WIN please create a DMP file using the Task Manager (Right Click on the Adobe Illustrator CC and select the option Create Dump File) when AI displays the crash dialog. Please send this to me using any free File sharing websites and do not use the mail to send me this file as the size is more than 600MB.

Crashing in illustrator when changing fonts

Help ! I have a new macbook pro and cs 5. every time i am working in illustrator I crash when either scrolling through fonts or changing a font or adding effects to them. i have added a few fonts that i had purchased previously but my older imac NEVER crashed for this reason! help meeeee! my job requires funky graphics and fonts, so now i'm in trouble!

You may see whether it is A font caches issue: Clear the font cache; there are font caches clearing applications for Mac, searchable with the search term clear font caches.
Or you may see whether it is a case of Corrupt font(s): you may move all (non system) fonts out of the relevant folders and move them back in; font moving may be done in groups; this is reversible.
