Illustrator Creative Cloud vs Illustrator CS6.

It was my understanding that Ilustrator Creative Cloud and Illustrator CS 6 were compatible. I received an Illustrator file created in the Creative Cloud version. I have CS6. I get a message that the file was created in a newer version. I'm having trouble editing it. Any suggestions.

You'll need to use the Creative CLoud app. Here's how to select the version:

The article covers an older version, but you need to install the newer one.
You might also need to update the CC app. Depends on when you last did that.
You can have more than one version installed side by side and also use them.

Sequence presets are missing after "Creative Cloud" activation of CS6

I recently downloaded a trial version of CS6 (I had CS4). While in the trial period PrPro CS6 had a plethora of options to choose from in the "sequence presets" including several XDCAM HD options which I needed as I shoot my video in that format.
Everything worked okay with my imported video. I imported several clips into sequences setup as XDCAM HD 1920x1080/23.97P with no problems. All was good for a couple of days until I bought a "Creative Cloud" account. After activation, many choices in the sequence setup window are mysteriously missing. I download all of the updates in an attempt to fix; that didn't help.
Now I can't import any of my XDCAM HD videos or open any of the several projects I created while running the trial of CS6.
The picture below shows the sequence presets that I have available now. Help.

Make sure that Premiere Pro CC is activated(Click on Help > Sign out, if you see it. It is activated)
Then Launch Encore CS 6,it should work fine.

Order status for Creative Cloud memberships and CS6 subscriptions

I didn't recieve the CS6 id, and the Chat Man said it doesn't exist for my account. He thought I got duped. When I sent him the link to the dates of purchase allowing for the upgrade he said this was only applicable if I was given the second order number for CS6. Therefore I was not going to get the upgrade. So I finally got someone on the phone, Maria, although she was in tech support, because sales was not avilable, she hunted down the challenge in about a half hour and got me an order id. But if you are stuck in the loop trying to find accountability at Adobe. Just keep calling until you get Maria :O) she fixed it! But customer service at Adobe is a lot like Apple, where you first gotta find the number and then sit through a lot of irrelevent content and be transfered around before your call is dropped and then hopefully on the third, fouth try, you can hopefully find somebody who got the memo and will stay with you till the challenge is resolved. Good luck!

Questions concerning Creative Cloud and my cs6 subscription

I just signed up for a year of CS 6 on a monthy basis.
I'm trying to download the program....and can not get passed the Creative Cloud "sign up" or "log in" screen. Do I have to GET that too!!!??
If so, I'm all set with Adobe!

What are the advantages of getting the creative cloud over buying CS6?

I do not use more than three programs on a regular basis, and I do not update often either.

How to ask a hot topic in the forums which could attract much passionate debate on both sides.
The most obvious point is that CS6 will no longer be updated. It's essentially abandonware. It might get bug fixes occaionally but no more love from Adobe. It's left to wither on the vine.
Whether we (customers) like it or not, for now the Cloud is the way of the future for Adobe.
So if CS6 is all you need for the next couple of years and a perpetual license is important to you then CS6 is probably for you.
The next generation of Adobe products (the CC versions) are due on June 17 - Cloud only. There will be no perpetually licensed CS7 or CC.
So CS6 will be a superseded (previous version) from then on.

Photoshop CC 2014 in Creative Cloud reported as CS6?

Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.4 All CC progs uninstalled and reinstalled and CC cleaner used. All programs working fine but CC still reports PS CC2014 as CS6 not as it is, PS6 long gone from the computer. Is there a file missed somewhere?

Creative Cloud Reinstall - SpeedGrade CS6 crashes

Just recently my SpeedGrade CS6 crashes on launch on my iMac (this is a recent development). How do I go about reinstalling it?

There should be an uninstaller listed in:
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers
After uninstalling it there you should be able to reinstall it through the Adobe Application Manager.

Illustrator CS6 download through Creative Cloud "appears corrupted" according to App Manager

I'm trying to install Illustrator CS6 through the Adobe Application Manager on Mountain Lion 10.8. All of the other apps downloaded and installed fine.
But when trying to downlaod Illustrator, it downlaods the file, and the a message appears saying "The download appears corrupted. Please Cancel, wait a few minutes and try again. (-60)". I've been trying off and on for the past week or so now.
Any tips or tricks?
Not sure if it's relevant since the other apps installed fine, but I'm currently installing to a new external SSD drive that I've booted from. I'm installing all the software I need onto it. Then once I'm done and ready, I'll swap drives.
I'm running Apple OS 10.8 on a Macbook Pro with 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo procs and 8GB of RAM. The MacBook Pro is a 17-inch early 2009 model (first unibody model).

Hi Adam,
Its a workaround but might be an easy solution, you might just download and install the Illustrator CS6 trial and then just license it to be part of your Creative Cloud membership using the "License This Software" option.

Is it normal for Illustrator to go beyond 127% downloaded from Creative Cloud?

I haven't heard of that and it doesn't sound normal.
As a workaround you could download and install the Illustrator trial and covert it to be part of Creative Cloud with the process described here:

I bought Creative Cloud, but can't use Illustrator because it says I need a serial number.

I've read that my account should activate after signing in, but it doesn't work for me. What do I do?

Here are several trouble-shooting methods that should get the applications activated again by your Adobe ID:
A. Follow steps 4 and 5 of http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/convert-cs6-licensed-under-ccm.html:
Launch the application.
Click the License This Software button.
See your Adobe ID in the dialog and click the Sign In button.
B. Use the Adobe Application Manager to install a different application to trigger activation using your Adobe ID.
C. If one application launches without asking for a serial number but another does, then from the application that is activated choose Help > Deactivate from the menu. Relaunch and activate either application.
D. Re-install the Adobe Application Manager from here: http://www.adobe.com/applicationmanagerpatch/index.html. Then launch the application again.
If none of these methods resolve the issue then provide:
Your operating system version.
The following three log files: PDApp.log, amt3.log and oobelib.log.
Email this information to [email protected].
Getting the log files on Windows:
Open the Command Prompt.
Type mkdir Desktop\logs and press Enter. This will create a folder called logs on your Desktop.
Type copy %temp%\PDApp.log Desktop\logs\PDApp.log and press Enter. This will copy the file PDApp.log to the folder logs.
Type copy %temp%\amt3.log Desktop\logs\amt3.log and press Enter. This will copy the file amt3.log to the folder logs.
Type copy %temp%\oobelib.log Desktop\logs\oobelib.log and press Enter. This will copy the file oobelib.log to the folder logs.
Zip the folder logs using a Zip program like 7-Zip (available from http://www.7-zip.org).
Getting the log files on Mac OS X:
Open the Terminal (located in the Utilities folder under Applications).
Type mkdir ~/Desktop/logs and press Enter. This will create a folder called logs on your Desktop.
Type cp ~/Library/Logs/PDApp.log ~/Desktop/logs/PDApp.log and press Enter. This will copy the file PDApp.log to the folder logs.
Type cp /tmp/amt3.log ~/Desktop/amt3.log and press Enter. This will copy the file amt3.log to the folder logs.
Type cp /tmp/oobelib.log ~/Desktop/oobelib.log and press Enter. This will copy the file oobelib.log to the folder logs.
Type tar -czf ~/Desktop/logs.tgz ~/Desktop/logs and press Enter. This will create the file logs.tgz on the Desktop. You can safely ignore the message: tar: Removing leading '/' from member names.

Need Illustrator CS6 and can't find it in the previous version options

My son needs Illustrator CS6 for a class he's taking, and his teacher said we could download it from Creative Cloud. However, when I look in the Apps tab, under "Find new apps," and select "Previous versions" from the drop down menu, Illustrator isn't one of the options. How can I get it from Creative Cloud?

How do I get Premiere Pro CS6 off Creative Cloud?

I have spent over 100 hours in Premiere Pro CS6 putting together four hours of complicated video (at least for me, a first timer) all with the end objective of producing two DVDs which I’ll replicate for the 100+ members of my son’s high school marching band. So it came time to burn them to the DVD, make a menu, etc.
Which brought me to the apparently complicated and confusing task of trying to first FIND – and then use – Encore.
After reading many threads in multiple forums, it seemed what I needed to do was to download Premiere Pro CC, uninstall Premiere Pro CS6, leaving the box unchecked for Encore, and then use them together.
I installed Premiere Pro CC. Opened a project apparently fine.
Then realized that perhaps Encore was already available and accessible to me via CS6. So tried to open a project there…. and now none of my projects could open in CS6!!! I was getting the dreaded “Sequence not available” error message.
I tried uninstalling CC just to see if that would fix it (since installing it seemed to cause the problem). Didn’t solve it.
Then came upon an Adobe help page that seemed to imply if I uninstalled CS6, ran a cleaner utility, and then reinstalled it, it would likely fix it.
So I uninstalled it.
Then I went to Creative Cloud to download CS6... but I can’t find CS6 anywhere in Creative Cloud!!!! I got a "single-app" membershi to Creative Cloud in June of last year just for Premiere Pro. I never bought a DVD or anything so I THINK that's the only way I can re-install the program.
Forget the nightmare of trying to figure out how to get Encore - I just want Premiere Pro back at this point. What the heck is a person supposed to do?

b) Those directions were in part why I uninstalled Premiere Pro CS6 in the first place
c) That video does not address my problem: I can't find CS6 loaded in Creative Cloud

Photoshop CS6 Extended not available in Creative Cloud single app membership?

I have read everywhere that Creative Cloud includes Photoshop CS6 Extended. So I went to buy a membership and figured I only need access to that one single app, and paid the US$19.99 for access to a single app license. But whenever I try to activate Photoshop now, I get regular CS6, not Extended. If I go into http://creative.adobe.com and look at my Apps it says just "Photoshop CS6" but when I click Learn More it brings me to the CS6 Extended product page. My question is whether I actually am entitled to CS6 Extended, or if I have to buy the more expensive $49.99 membership for access to all apps in order to get that? The marketing should be more clear if that's the case. Thanks in advance for any help!

You're correct, when you get a membership to Photoshop CS6 by itself it is the standard version, versus with Creative Cloud membership it is the Extended version. I didn't find this written out anywhere. I did notice when I clicked the Photoshop picture from here http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/cssubscription.html it took me to the Photoshop standard product page versus here it does say Extended http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/tools.html and links to the Extended product page.
Where are you seeing this "Learn More" link that takes you to the wrong place (Extended page)? Can you post a screen shot?
This seems like something that should be called out on the first subscription page and here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/faq.html#subscriptions
I'll see if its possible to get something added and possibly change this Learn More link once I get more info.
